[AU/NZ] UCS Death Star available now!
Posted by Huw,
It's the 1st of October in Australasia, which means that the most expensive set ever released, 75419 Death Star is now available at LEGO.com down under!
If you're planning on buying the 9,023-piece behemoth, you'll want to do so this week because the companion set, 40771 TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack, is the gift with purchase until the 7th of the month, but only while stocks last!
Additionally, the spooky 40772 Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost is also a GWP until the 7th, free with all purchases over AU$195 / US$120 / £110 / €120.

I hope someone from Lego can tell us a year from now how well the Death Star sold in the first days/weeks, but I think they will be ashamed to tell us.
Its nice starting off the week knowing you'll save $1500
Idk why its saying I'm from america lol
In this economy?

You can look how fast the GWP runs out.
Yes we don't know the numbers of those either but I does give an idea
No thanks
We got a lot thinner for sure! Han Solo was right

If it sells poorly and eventually goes on sale for 30% off (like Hulkbuster & Foosball table) I might consider it...but it's definitely not a day one purchase for me. After taxes its almost $1500 CAD at regular price
This is such a boring set, already given too much attention. Everytime I see something about it I wanna yell BORING like Homer
Only $1337 over here, great!

How is this the first time I'm hearing this joke? I'm surprised no one made this reference when the Death Slice was first revealed, and I'm a little jealous I didn't come up with it first! ;)

They never release sales figures for sets anyway, so not doing so doesn't mean it is out of shame. Remember this set is not for regular consumers so sales will of course be lower than for a $50 set. But this will generate a lot of buzz, visits to stores to see it, and sales of other sets.
This is a hot take but if I had $1000 to spend I actually would buy this
LMAO there's also a limited-editio poster, only 5000 copies and also 5000 insiders points %%$$%@!*&
Looks like I'll probably be buying this tonight.
Only six-and-a-half hours before it becomes available where I'm from. Can't wait (and I'm not the only one, but perhaps the only one who wants to admit it)!!!
And they can keep it, I'm saving for Barad-Dur, the Titanic, the Eiffel Tower... or rather for a house big enough for them
I suspect it may do better than many think it will.
Never have I been more thankful to Lego for releasing such a substandard GWP. Absolutely zero reason not to wait for a substantial discount.
Wake me up when it is 50% off. Not saying the set is bad and I do not like it, I do, but the price is just extreme, no matter if I have the money or not, this would be purely impulsive purchase with zero rationality.
to be honest; I have plenty of extra cash but i would never buy this type of set (or priced item) at full RRP knowing that if I wait there will be a 30% discount (and if it stays at full rrp for its entire shelf life, i will just pass)
Very excited for this one, first set I've been hype enough to door bust my local store instead of just grabbing online in a couple years
This set does have one thing going for it: It shows up in Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past. And I don't just mean that the show has scenes set aboard the Death Star, I mean that there are shots where this set is used to represent the Death Star as a whole, and shots that are recognizably in rooms from this set. Speaking of RtG: PotP, any chance we'll be getting a review of 75414?
I like this so much I'm going to admire it through plexiglass in the Lego store over and over again lol
Then buy the Minifigs from it a year from now on Brickowl.
See you at at least 30% off!

You’re not the only one! 12 hours before I get to buy this. I can’t wait! Yes it is expensive. But I am super excited for this amazing set and thrilled/shocked that my wife actually approved.
Hmm....Death Slarce...or multiple high dollar sets on my wanted list.....or almost the entire BLDP Series 6 next week....or a portion of 1 ticket to see Taylor Swift...or 30 sets of Terrance and Phillip dolls...or I guess I could put something away to further educate my boatload of children...

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing the retirement date, if it retires in two years or less we'll know it did pretty poorly overall.
I guess if you’re picking this up down under, you’re gonna have to cut back on vegemite and fairy bread considerably.
Whoa, I hadn't seen all of these negative comments anywhere until now. It's just mostly been similar negative comments everywhere else.
That's no moon.
It's a pie chart.
Designed by accountants.

This isn't a hot take, but I do have $1000 and I definitely am not LOL.
I can't stop thinking about Private Hudson's quote from Aliens....
"Yeah right, man, Bishop [Australia] should go. Good idea!"
What I’m doing is using all the pics of this set as reference to mod my 10188.
Smooth tiled floors, dark gray walkways/paths, greeble the exterior, etc.

Yup.
I think this may be the first time there's a simultaneous seasonal GWP for the launch of a large UCS SW with it's own dedicated GWP.
Yet, that cute lil' ghost isn't enough to change my opinion about his turd-brother tie fighter.
I would rather not own an x-mansion than own a let-down of an x-mansion.
I’m surprised that people still want it at 30% off. Which means there are signs of healthy interest past the initial price, which at 30% off is no doubt still wonderfully profitable.
Those who budget for those personal, specific, favoured sets that are worth their money at any discount or even none, know that this stuff is cyclical. But… perhaps those 30% discounters know that Lego will never offer high quality output and value ever again, so perhaps they’re desperately scraping the barrel ?!
There will be another death star one day… or just the other half of it.
