Double LEGO Insiders points start tomorrow

Posted by ,

Double LEGO Insiders points return tomorrow on LEGO.com, from October 14th to the 20th.

This offer will not overlap with the discounts available on the website at the moment, which finish tonight, but the next few days could be a good time to make any planned purchases.

By in Belgium,

Don't have anything on the wishlist that's not cheaper elsewhere at the moment, so here's the question, do I get another viking village or not...

By in Sweden,

Well... there are a few small Christmasy sets that I sorta want... might be a good time? I keep hoping for some sort of awesome GWP.

By in United Kingdom,

This always happens when I can't afford to get anything. I'll guess I'll wait for the next one.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I don't see a reason to buy directly from LEGO these days, other than maybe items from Bricks and Pieces.

By in United States,

I want to get NINJAGO City Markets before it expires end of the year. Any thoughts on whether it will be discounted after this promotion? If there's no discount, I'll probably just buy it for the 2x points.

By in Norway,

I must admit I find the fact that this offer begins the day after the discount campaign TLG just ran ends disappointing.

Not surprising at all, but still disappointing.

Edit: While I am still in Norway the heading of my comment says "in United States". I have seen this mentioned a few times by other Brickset members (i.e., another location listed than their actual location) lately. Anybody know why this is so?

By in Sweden,

GwP and 2X is what I need now. Life is expensive and I have no space to put anything else. :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, since none of the retiring sets on my wishlist were discounted during the previous sale, this is when I'll get them!

By in United States,

Wait until Insiders Weekend the weekend before Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) or Brick Friday the day after.

In recent years, Insiders Weekend had 3× and 4× points on some and 2× points on all, plus gifts with purchase, while the Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers included gifts with purchase, sales, and discounted VIP vouchers.

Does this mean Retiring Soon sets are going back to full price tomorrow?

No, it means they are going away - when they sell out, that's it.

By in United States,

Since I have plenty of points, I'm waiting until 40785 becomes available, then I'm going to order 10358.

Brickset's using a reverse VPN.

Is there a list of these?

Your heading says “in Norway” on my browser. Maybe the Brickset team already fixed the problem?

Yes. Current sale is specifically 7th - 13th so the ones that were new sales on the 7th go back to full price tomorrow (if not sold out).

I was recently traveling in Europe and Canada. When I used Wifi, Brickset usually recognized my location in the country of travel. When I used my phone's mobile data, I was considered to be in the US.

City Markets is the type of set that usually gets discounted for the insider weekend (or gets the 2x/3x?/4x??? treatment), so it might be worth waiting a bit longer...
BUT: it is a LEGO exclusive in most regions, so you won't find it anywhere else and if it goes out of stock this late in its lifespan, it will most likely not be restocked again!

(So don't shoot me if I'm wrong and you miss out: tbh fomo is creeping up on me as well and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on it this week myself, just to be safe.)

Yes, most likely the majority of the sets that are discounted atm, will go back to full price tomorrow (with some exceptions maybe for the sets that sell really really poorly).

I've yet to buy a Ninjago City set at less than 25% off. I'm betting that Markets will see a marketable price decrease before the end of the year.

Thanks for the feedback on NINJAGO City Markets. I'm going to take my chances and hold out for a better deal.

Hi
Can you advise if you order a set that's on backorder do you still get the double points
Many thanks

There are sets on that list that seem to be unlikely to sell out even at 80% off, let alone 30 or 40 ;-)

Several Lego Exclusives still on my wishlist. 2x points + Northern Lights will do very nicely (assuming GWP same as Aus!)

Many thanks for the feedback @TheOtherMike, @woosterlegos and @StyleCounselor. Now browsing Brickset on Wi-Fi (was previously on a cabled connection) in another location on a different computer and browser and it now shows 'in Norway'. And while I am still in Norway, I have now idea why this now shows correctly again.

Would be both pleased and interested if anyone from Brickset towers could explain this little but strange phenomenon.

I misread the original post- I thought he meant if retiring soon sets would have that tag removed after the sale. In my defense, i hadn't had caffeine yet at the time i replied.

I have decided that I would “consider” parting out 41838 Travel Moments if given to me as a gift. “Consider.” If offered at 90% Off on LEGO, then I’ll probably still pass. :o)

I am often caught off guard when sets finally go to their watery “Sold Out” grave as LEGO doesn’t overly advertise things. But as we saw with Diagon Alley recently, any excuse for a sale during its final year will likely be the end.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm scared about the future of the Winter Village line, with the 2 previous years' sets retiring at the same time, the price increase for the train, the focus on new wreaths and expensive trees, and the dropping of the "winter village" branding the last few years.

I'm also part of that group. I recently got the castle (10305) and Diagon Alley (75978). The Ninjago Markets is the last one of the retiring sets on my list for this year. It is indeed sad that Lego does not advertise more their sales. The company send me emails when they have new stuff but never for promotions (understandable - but still).

By in United States,

Scrolling through the sale sets made me realize Lego prices are so ridiculous right now that even at 40% off some sets seem like a mid to bad deal!
I would consider the medieval market at 40% but its only 20 and I don't care enough at that price. Nothing else appealing to me, sadly.

Same. On my Brickset's listing of deals greater than 33% at amazon, there are 18 sets. I got one of them (for the heck) when it came at 50% off a few weeks ago. Even at those steep discounts, they are still just marginally fair value - but great for people looking for gifts.

If I'm not mistaken you do get the double points on backorders
(but not on pre-orders for some reason).

As I'm not 100% sure on this, I tried to verify by checking the terms and faq on LEGO.com, but could not find a reference to it anywhere.

If I recall correctly, normally the amount of points gets registered when you order,
but the points will only be added to your account when the order ships.
This is always the case, on all orders, it just takes longer in the case of a backorder.

You should be able to check the amount of insider points you get for the backorder before confirming and paying the order.
Also when the 2x points officially kick off, you should be able to find this information in the fine print at the bottom of the page of the event on the website.
