Random minifig of the day: bat024
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random minifigure is bat024 Batman - Dark Bluish Gray Suit, Black Mask, a Batman I figure that was first produced during 2008. It can be found in 3 sets.
Our members collectively own a total of 18,519 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $20.20.

Looks like it's Daylight Savings change again for the UK.

Clearly Batman is responsible for it, that and spending Gotham taxpayers' money on stalking the streets at night.
This is another case (like https://brickset.com/article/123035/random-minifig-of-the-day-toy018) where of the three sets the minifig comes in, I have one (7888), want one (7884), and don't care about the other (7886). The main reason I want 7884 is because of https://brickset.com/minifigs/bat011i/mr-freeze-blue-outfit. A Mr. Freeze figure that uses a Classic Space element is right up my alley.
Very fitting since I just bought the new Dark Knight tumbler
It's always a bit annoying having to make two adjustments to daylight savings for R_otD.
Figure: "I am..."
Everybody: "Yeah, Yeah, we KNOW...":D
Also, don't have one...I have TWO:). One with the 'Tumbler' and the other with the 'Batcycle'...and now that I think about it: shouldn't their 'opposing vehicles' been swapped? I mean; 'the Tumbler' would be much more suited to fighting a monster truck, and the Batcycle could total handle a jacked-up ice cream truck...just sayin':)
@TheOtherMike:
Until very recently, 7886 was the only source for Harley Quinn's original debut costume from B:TAS. It also had the unfortunate distinction of being the only set to include a misprinted Harley Quinn torso, where the black layer was printed over the white, thus making her look like she'd had a mastectomy.
@brick_r:
I have at least six.
Here, the time shows 3 am.
In the RMotD list, it shows 2 am.
I’d thought the Batman I sets generally stuck to more simplified designs, hadn’t realised they’d been giving Bats the body armour look a lot of the more recent versions prefer as early as their first stab at the theme

You can also get Mr Freeze in great 7783.
Ah, this was from when lego did a The Dark Knight tie-in wave without really doing that. Mainly though the tumbler and this batman. And there was a Joker too.

The first three Batman minifigs were more comics-inspired, yes. 2006 had the black/gold Troika Batman, while the logo from the black/grey 2006 Batman and everything but the logo from the 2007 dark-blue/grey Batman look like they came from Jim Lee's run. 2008 was the year The Dark Knight hit theaters, though, so they based this Batman on the movie costume. Three years later, they did a much better job of it with the SDCC Batman that was printed on black instead of dark-bley.

Yeah, but I've never really wanted any of the Batcave sets, due to space reasons. Besides, 7884 was cheaper.
@PurpleDave: I wasn't intending a 'competition', merely an 'inventory'...besides, I could neeever compete w/an...unofficial 'Guardian of the Universe'...how many GLs again...:)
(And that's NOT a 'bad thing'; through the OPAB I've 'Army Built': the 'Rabbots' from 'Monkie Kid', Black Falcons and Lion Knights from 'Castle', and recently a whack of SPACE-folk of both the current suits and the previous suits, and even the 'classic'/monochrome suits where ever possible)

All six of those Batmen were obtained by buying double copies of the sets it came in, so no OPAB involved. I've missed a couple of the big ones, but I _try_ to buy two copies of any DC set with minifigs, so I can pull the minifigs for use in club displays.
Green Lanterns, I got 60 torsos, and nearly as many legs (I intended to do a few with short legs, like the Toy Story Claw Alien and Yoda, so I underordered the legs). Plus, I got a few copies of the GL/Sinestro set, a few copies of the book that had John Stewart, a few copies of the DVD that had Jessica Cruz, at least one Simon Baz, one Ryan Reynolds GL, and before I got the OPAB order I had someone make me a bunch of custom-printed torsos. I could probably field at least 125 if I tried to use up everything I've bought over the years.
