Disney Advent Calendar - Day 2
Posted by MeganL,"Let it go, let it go...."
That's the song stuck in my head after discovering Elsa behind yesterday's door. I also enjoyed that Sir Jorgenbjorgen was included, though I think I must point out that Elsa's toy is a puffin, and not, say, another bird that might prompt some memories from previous years.
I was originally a little disappointed that there are microdolls instead of minidolls. But since the characters are also supposed to be game pieces, that may make more sense. Hopefully that also means we'll get more characters!
It's possible we'll meet another character today, or perhaps there will be something else.
Today's build is a very pretty gingerbread house! It's a rather grandiose house with a tall spire in the centre and four icing-topped gables on the sides. The main entrance boasts a large door, a clock and two windows. I thought the windows may have decorations, but I think they're multi-coloured awnings. Regardless, this is a nice printed piece that may be unique to this set (I didn't see it in the database). To make the build even sweeter, there's a chocolate chip cookie included.
The gingerbread house will make a nice scenery piece on the place mat, but I'm a little puzzled as to where the cookie will fit. Perhaps that will become clear in the coming days.

A nice gingerbread house. It reminds me of the nappy packs and milk cartons from last year: https://brickset.com/article/115525
What a grand day it's been. We're in the middle of advent calendar season *and* we get images of all the 2026 lines (I cannot get over how cute those axolotls are). It's been a good day.
As for Elsa's toy from yesterday ... I don't know. That was a suspiciously penguin-shaped puffin, to my eyes, clearly here to stake a claim to this (gingerbread) castle.
I think we have a spy in our midst...
For an advent calendar build, it is quite nice. Especially the exclusive print on the box.
A castle of old, frozen blood seems appropriate place of repose for yesterday's resurrection of Dreadflipper.

The flayed hides of stale Gingerbread-corpses. You can run, run, run, as fast as you can - but will it ever be fast enough?
I believe the cookie fits in a mouth, though maybe not all at once.

It really doesn’t matter. There are tracks in the cold snow for a heartless, despicable, foul fowl creature to relentlessly.... . . . follow.
Is it supposed to be a specific one of Disney’s many castles?
Gingerbread castle! Nice!

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be a gingerbread version of the Arendelle castle, which is a really neat idea. They should do more gingerbread versions of things in these calendars.

Part of me assumed it must be Frozen related, given Elsa was the day before, but I could only remember the ice palace from the film and it looks nothing like that one

Yeah; the Arendelle Castle definitely isn't as iconic as Elsa's Ice Palace, but it's got a nice design.

That was my guess.

The box has Elsa and Anna from Frozen 2 posed over a Disney Frozen logo, so it would be a fair assumption that the entire thing is going to be Frozen-related this year.
Awww, it looks adorable.
