Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 19

Posted by ,

Following our third piece of connected scenery yesterday, I think we can assume another brick-built droid will emerge today. Hopefully this will be another good one.

Get your restraining bolts ready...

Like the recent B1 Battle Droid, a Mouse Droid is a natural addition to the Advent Calendar and one we have seen multiple times in these sets. However, this red and white example is festively decorated and I like the clips representing the command order trays on top. The only slight issue relates to yesterday's item, as it would have been nice for those paint cans to include white and red, as though Babu Frik or the Jawa had painted the Mouse Droid.

Overall - A festive Mouse Droid is a nice idea and the model looks fine, though it does not really improve on past versions of the droid.

Day 19: not terrible at all

0 points (+ 47 from yesterday = 47): Fr - somebody has to be last, and electronic devices have a bit less of a personality (unless they don't work as intended; that's when you learn how awful an elecronic device's personality can be).
1 (+59 = 60): SW - wrapped or painted? You decide. Personally, I prefer MSEs with short wheelbase, as in the 2011 SWAC.
2 (+24 = 26): Dy - because kittens with mittens!
3 (+53 = 56): Ct - Arrr! Me freezin'...
4 (+33 = 37): MC - Has anybody seen Space Truckers? Because the two sheep remind me of those genetically engineered, stackable pigs.
5 (+54 = 59): HP - This year's calendar relies havily on the minifig trump card!

That said, the prints in the HP and MC calendars are something TLG should be ashamed of. Should, because as we all know, why try harder when you're 1?

A lovely Christmas present for a stormtrooper

By in United States,

I love it, but this is definitely the *longest* minifigure scale MSE droid we've ever had compared to the one in 75229 or 7958. I'm tempted to consider him a sausage droid at this size. (Without the antler/antennae pieces, it'd be more accurate? Maybe?)

Disney: socKitten-CATapult! 4.5/5p
Friends: 3/5p
Minecraft: Creepy creatures 4.5/5p
Harry Potter: 3.5/5p
Star Wars: The 'command order trays' are antlers for me! 3/5p

By in United States,

See, I have an issue with this one. The X-Mas Wing established that the Rebels use peppermint. And the GingerbrAT-AT shows the Empire prefers their’s to be cookie-based. So is this a Rebel MSE droid, a spy for the Empire, or what?

By in United Kingdom,

I used the spare white 1x1 and one of the trans red 1x1 from earlier in the calendar to turn this into Rudolf the Red-nosed Mouse Droid.

By in Netherlands,

What's the point of this thing? To me, it looks like some kind of train from a City Advent Calendar. I don't get any Star Wars vibes from this!

"Lieutenant, if I see you licking our droids one more time, your career will stay a short one!"

Maybe it's a Dachshund droid!

By in Italy,

I already found it in day 17! No Battle droid!
Booooh!

By in Hungary,

I got this guy on day 11, so I was happy to finally find B2EMO today. Both are cute little builds.

By in United States,

It's fine. However, it reminds me that we haven't had a fun Xmas astromech in this AC. Too cheap, Grinch Lego!
