NYCC LEGO panel about to begin
Posted by Huw,
Our man at the show, TheLegoChronicler, has sent us a couple of images from NYCC.
As you can see the booth is totally devoted to Bionicle so those hoping that something more exciting was going to be revealed are likely to be out of luck.
Post-presentation update from TheLegoChronicler:
- Available January 1st.
- It's a reboot, not a continuation.
- Not all toa will be same price point; they are different sizes.
- All of the original toa are back. Same names but new designs.
- Lots of functionality.
- 30 new pieces.
- The village elders and toa can swap parts. Basically the pieces from the village leaders can be placed on the Toa to amp them up.
- Masks are back in a big way.
The LEGO booth...
A transparent mask has been given out to attendees. (I originally thought was an empty container!)

wow this is great stuff
"A currently empty container for an exclusive mask"
Um, dude it's a transparent mask, it's very much not empty...
Those wishing for something more exciting are merely wishing for more than total perfection. BIONICLE 2015!!!!!!!
You can see the outline of the mask and its leaning to the side, so its clearly in a little clear box, not a plastic mold where the mask would be. All in all, we get a transparent Bionicle mask!!!!!
Yay!!! :)
empty? that's a clear mask man
I can't see the pictures. All there is is links with "NNYC Bionicle stuff", which leads to Flickr. I can't see these here at all. Can you fix this please?
Oh god, My wallet isn't going to enjoy having to get that mask on the second hand market. ;n;
If any Non-bionicle fans attended the convention I'd super-really-omega-appreciate the opportunity to buy one or two off of kind fans willing to sell it. I don't wanna have to buy it at gouged up prices but I will if I absolutely must. GET ALL THE BONKLES!
*Sigh.* Little hope of Tahu's mask returning to the epic prototype look, is there...
What power does a clear mask have? Corrective vision? :P:P:P
Doh, I posted the article in a hurry before cooking dinner so didn't notice the clear mask :-)
I'll correct it.
@SprinkleOtter I sure wish that mask existed IRL. I'd finally be able to drive. :P
Interesting that they chose to reboot the series...
About half of those facts we already knew.....
AHHHHH! Now how am I supposed to get that mask?
Also, a link to some other pictures http://imgur.com/a/Coy186
Yasssss
And the mask is fetching five hundred on eBay already!
I hate reboots...
I feel more and more optimism towards this line with each passing day!
(Hmm. I have been especially poetic in my commenting today. I wonder why?)
Uh-huh. 30 new parts. At least a third of those are masks. Also, I'm lovin' those out-of-box pics and bios...
Oh, BTW, just2good as a picture of the Earth Protector in the EB Bio 2015 thread. It looks amazing-- suffice to say, it more than makes up for the trace amounts of trans-purple in Onua.
thats so true
I want an Exo-Force reboot. That series was awesome.
But I guess dinosaurs are cool, too.
Yay! So excited for Bionicle. Hopefully the reboot will have sort-of the same storyline as the original. Sort of sad to see the original plot go. :(
Are we going to get more Ninjago information?
Okay, I know BIONICLE would receivee much attention, but obviously LEGO doesn't want to use this time to promote their actual new theme Elves :p.
I was at NYCC yesterday and LEGO had no other presence besides that huge mostly empty space to show off the bionicle line. This made me so sad because that is the main reason I go to the convention so I can visit the LEGO booth. There wasn't even a place to buy anything. After all of the great stuff at SDCC this year I feel like this was the most anticlimactic LEGO NYCC experience ever! Even Mega Blocks had a better booth and it kills me to admit that. I had tickets for today but I'm not even wasting my time.... so sad
I agree with MrsEspo12774. The LEGO booth at the NYCC was totally anti-climatic.
I was totally disappointed in their booth. Although the Bionicle line swag was nice I was hoping that there would examples of next years sets or at least have exclusive comic-con sets for purchase. After seeing what was offered at the SDCC and expecting a similar venue here I have to say their retail stores have better displays than what they exhibited here in NYCC. Again agreeing with MrsEspo12774 MEGA Blocks put on a much better display than LEGO did and I hope they do a better job at future NYCC events.
I wouldn't worry about not having trans purple. LEGO knows we love trans colors.
The LEGO booth was a bit empty but they have the sets in the case.
Mega Bloks was showing off like it was Toy Fair but Theresa's a free Spongebob.
What do you mean "the pieces from the village leaders can be placed on the Toa to amp them up"? The pieces on the village elders are nothing compared to the actual Toa.
Life = made
Did you hear? Just2Good got a copyright strike from Lego!
