Today's random set is 60014 Coast Guard Patrol, released during 2013. It's one of 40 City sets produced that year. It contains 449 pieces and 6 minifigs, and its retail price was US$79.99/£59.99.
It's owned by 6,393 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $120.00, or eBay.

This was my big Christmas present back in 2013. I still have the entire 2013 Coast Guard line. Good memories.
This must be the most intense rescue operation. 3 Sharks?! THREE?! I know they're usually not man eaters, they'll take a bite and then go, "Ew," but if there's 3 of these things and blood gets in the water, you're screwed.
Got this set in a big bulk lot once, only 2 pieces missing.
Love the large boat hull piece. The same can't be said for the medium sized one, I do not like that one.
I like big boats and I cannot lie.
Nice size for a set, fully loaded too. I miss the emotionless look of the classic sharks.
I can’t imagine the dog is actually going to be much help in any scenario these guys run into. At least give it a life jacket!
I like coast guard, it reminds me of summer, and I like summer.

That really depends on the species. Some of the pelagic sharks, like the oceanic whitetip, are opportunistic feeders. If they encounter something, they can't afford to pass it up because there's no way of knowing how long it'll be before they get another chance. Reef-dwelling sharks, on the other hand, tend to be more picky eaters because they're surrounded by an abundance of potential food.
Probably one of the best Coast Guard ships we've had.
I wish Lego would make proper Coast Guard patrol boats though, using the smaller 8 or 10 wide (not sure dimensions) hull piece but with a proper cabin/bridge etc.
Think WWII era RAF Crash Rescue Boat for example.

Great set for the boat piece, crew and shark battle pack. Although the lower deck was too low, empty and not usable, the helicopter was a bit flimsy and kept breaking in half, the lighthouse just spares and the inflatable easily available in intro set.
I rewatched a review of this from Jang the other day. The bridge is big but is a bit hard to access and is empty outside of two consoles, the space underneath was a bit disappointing (there's nothing), and the back deck space could be used for the ROV and the forward deck for the helicopter. All in all pretty decent but the lighthouse and boat are nothing to write home about.
Personally I fnd City from this era to be bland. The models do what they're supposed to do but not much else. There's spots to place stuff for play, but like many sets of the time it just feels empty. It's probably because of the age range but I alway feel the sets lacking a bit in personality. The overuse of white in City didn't help. But maybe that's just me.

Not one, not two, but three sharks. It's going to be a busy day for the coast guard!
The Good Old Days, more than 10 years ago, when Lego wasn’t overpriced like it is now… oh wait, this was 18c per piece, which adjusted for inflation would be 25c pp today.

And they also didn't use specialized pieces... except for the sharks, and the boat hulls, and the bridge windows...
My wife (gf at the time) bought me this set for Christmas that year which brought me out of my dark ages. So it’s a sentimental favorite of mine.

I’m just saying, I remember reading an interview where the AFOL said his wife knew it was a passion of his, and the wife pointed out that he got back into it _after_ they got married.
I remember really wanting this set when It came out, but was limited to birthday and Christmas presents plus the occasional pocket-money bought larger set, and it wasn't quite high enough on the list.
