Okay, I'm gonna have to get that Olaf and Bruni set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

once again wishing they would make merch of Literally Any Experiment besides Stitch, Girl Stitch, and, if we're really lucky, sometimes, very rarely Reuben or Sparky

And I’ll have nightmares for the next couple nights.
If anyone buys those “mini” princess sets… they are out of their mind! :o

Exactly! Like what was the designers' thought process for those sets? Lets make buildable Duplo characters? Even the "castle" is just a decorated rack to hold the collection - as if anybody would want to look at those weird flat faces all day long.

Apparently some kids must have loved the sets if the sets have cleared through to production...

By in Canada,

Those new figurines reminds me of rubber stamps.

BILLUND, DK - In a stunning turn of events, the recent and terrifying General Zod mirror syndrome has infected yet another LEGO theme, this time Disney Princesses. They’ll have company as two young Hogwarts students join them in their new fight. “I don’t want to talk about it,” notes a young exasperated Harry.Potter after he and an unnamed older gentleman friend had themselves only just recovered from bouts with Jacob’s Ladderism picked up during a fateful motorcycle ride. Representatives for Jasmine indicated that their client would face this new tribulation head on and flat out beat it. After the press conference, Belle was less forthright and simply exclaimed “No Comment” as she climbed into her Toyota Sienna.

By in Germany,

Has somebody counted the number of pages in the Lego catalog of licensed versus unlicensed sets? I wonder what that ratio would be like.

New big Bruni _and_ new little Bruni? Gah! I really don't want to be paying $12.50 each for Snowgies and Bruni, though, so probably just try to pick the small Bruni up on the secondary market. And more Snowgies. Wish they'd make a new version of Marshmallow.

Gravatar
By in United States,

What color is the stick for Olaf's marshmallow? Is one of the new-ish skin tones making the jump to "regular" parts?

Gravatar
By in Japan,

I don’t know, I find those mini princesses weirdly charming.
Can’t get out of my head that their torsos are basically just minions though

It was in animation recently, I am sure we are getting it soon.

Ouch! Mini Anna looks like she has a black eye for some reason...?

Gravatar
By in United States,

These chibi doll figures are perfect for anyone who looked at the new Harry Potter Ford Anglia set and said "ditch the car, what really speaks to me are the passengers!"

That was my immediate thought! She looks like she has a black eye from that icy blast Elsa is shooting at her.

By in Malaysia,

Photos and renders of the sets here look generally okay, maybe except for the snowman's open mouth.
Though that's nowhere as bad as last year's appearance of 43243; here I must agree with the hyenas' assessment of its looks.

I see we're bringing back the Clikits-faces.

But why though?

Marshmallow? Most people have only ever seen him in the first film, but I know he makes a cameo appearance at the end of Frozen Fever, and I think again at the end of Frozen 2. If you can’t assume everyone has seen the short film, and most people start exiting theaters, or changing channels, once the end credits start rolling. If he showed up in something else that’s only available on streaming, that’s an even smaller potential audience. I wouldn’t personally expect them to make a new version unless he has a more significant role in Frozen 3 or Frozen 4 than he did in Frozen 2.

Those Frozen figs are freakin' me out!!

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Those mini princesses are disgusting. So sad, because it could really have been an interesting concept. I would like to see the figures with a plain tile instead of what should look like their faces, which hopefully will make them more like statues of the characters rather than what they are seem like now. Please, if you do a review of the sets, it would be a nice photo to add. Besides that, it seems like a good wave. Excited to see the upcoming sets from other movies.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Are tile face figures a new trend within Lego? First Harry Potter, now these.......and so far I don't like them. Borderline nightmare fuel....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The build a body and stick a face on it sets look terrible. But I guess they are cheap and licensed so will sell.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I thought the brickheadz were ugly until the mini princesses came along.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I'm a little confused by everyone's reactions to those mini princesses... I mean don't get me wrong, Ifind them as ugly as all sins but considering the successes of Brickheadz and Funko Pop in general, I don't really get why THEY alone garner so much hate...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

These all look terrible. But I’m not a Princess, but if I was..

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

This is getting out of hand... Mini Princesses? Collect all 6... Next up : Star Wars Minis, collect all 156...

Thing is Brickheadz always represent orginal characters in squared (lego brick) form and heads are build with certain style. Doesn't matter if character is human or monster.
Here we have build with FLAT print trying to represent face which makes it just creepy.

For all the fans of themes that got endless stickers, this morning’s prints have been a real orchestral stab in the face.

No, Brickheadz have gotten tons of hate (and even Funko Pop have been the subject of more griping than you’d expect, by way of comparison to Brickheadz), but as long as Brickheadz get their own reveal/review articles, it helps cut down on the noise because many complainers just skip them altogether.

Does anyone actually like Funko Pops?

They sell, so there must be some. But never met one. Everyone seems to hate those....
(and for good reason)

It's not about liking them, it's about collecting them.
Well, at least at first; once you have one or two the circle starts when they push a new series to the market and you want to be "in" from the beginning..
That gives you a mission, something to follow through, eventhough it is expensive, but you take the pain to feel accomplishment.

It's a dopamine machine, nearing perfection and you can see many corporations switching over to this because it transfers money into their accounts to produce more of them.
Tis the reason for collectibles and market branding, and not having the option to rebuild a set consisting of bricks, because that is not what it's about anymore.

If you want to take it even further, the "dealer" can request high prices from the "addicted" because they will pay: just one more set, I already have so many; oh, in relation to capital invested, this doesn't make a difference, does it; ...

Also extremely high priced sets lower the percecption on other high-priced sets, giving them a normal appearance and a seemingly better value for money.

I did actually buy two recently. One was a standard-ish sized Claw Alien held upside-down in The Claw (1595). And the other was a Bitty Pop Claw Alien that comes with a full Claw Machine.
