I know the bears are supposed to be her brothers, but I'm curious how many kids used them as targets or kabers and stones as part of those highland games. Plop them in a catapult and just launch them or line them up with the target. It would certainly solve some of Merida's problems even though she still has society to contend with, and homicide probably wouldn't go over well. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying kids will be kids.

It wouldn't be homicide! ...It would be fratricide.

Nah, those bear cubs seemed nearly as indestructible as Minions…and about as mischievous too.

Bah! This was one of the first sets I bought my daughter when she was little. Now she’s going to start learning to drive next year. Where does the time go?!?

(Luckily she hasn’t entered her dark ages yet and is still a faithful TFOL)

"Get the key."

And lo there is indeed a key included! No maid to replicate the cleavage-diving action of the film though, can't imagine why they left that out...

I second the feeling. We got this set for our older daughter when she was little, and she passed her driving test this summer and will turn 18 in about a month.
Her only remaining interest in LEGO is the Botanicals line of sets.

Pretty poor example of a Highland Games, no hammers to throw, tree trunks to throw or heavy weights to throw :)

This is still the only Lego set based off of Brave. Merida appears in one other Disney Princess set, but this is the only set she has all to herself; something Pocahontas and Tiana unfortunately still can’t say.

Unless you count 71038-5 and 71038-12. But as a history buff, I'm fine with that being all Pocahontas has to herself; I have no desire to see that movie. As an animation buff on the other hand, I want Tiana to get more to herself; that was Disney's last traditionally-animated film!
