By in United States,

Here I was thinking I did not pick this up, but Brickset says I did!

I really enjoyed this entire theme. It was so cool.

Fishy goes glomp!

I just have the Atlantean, and the helmet.

By in New Zealand,

Such an awesome set. Original Lego themes from around 2010 are some of the best Lego themes ever. Power Miners, Atlantis, Space Police III, etc.

Atlantis set, and second year at that!

Atlantis was the best theme.

"Angler attack?" I hardly know her attack!

GREEN dragon wings. Mind blown.

Admittedly they are not regular green, but to this point still the closest you can get to a pseudo-monochrome classic dragon (those are discontinued by now anyways, aren't they?). You even can get green fire, yay!

Atlantis was a great theme. Those animal/monster builds looked awesome. They also managed to pack in quite some articulation without spoiling the looks (Vikings, I'm looking at you). The monster minifigs were also quite interesting.

Not so keen on the color shift from lime to yellow on the divers team, but at least it added some variation (and maybe made some Blacktron MOCers happy?).

I remember seeing that Lego Atlantis movie (?) back then, not sure how it was published. Not that bad actually. The character from this set had this news article in the end saying "Fish finds fish!", because he was seemingly obsessed with finding a particular rare deep sea fish.

By in United States,

This was a fun set, and even though it is 14 years old, I think it still holds up as a decent fish. It even had a little chomp feature, and I recall that the pin on the chin was used as the lever. The fish fig itself was also a lot of fun!

Awesome set, the stickers were textured, which was crazy to me as a 10-year-old

By in Netherlands,

It was a pretty cool set with the helmet next to a collumn. But I always wondered how those front teeth could not get annoying, as you'd have to open the mouth so much to get clearence at all by the looks of it. The eyes are also cool. Very remniscent of deep sea fish without being quite as disturbing looking as the blank white pupils on real anglerfish.
I also love how it has a gold tooth. The minifig angler must take good care of it.

Speaking of, I own one from the City of Atlantis and it's weird! It has a sandwich board style head with pectoral fins at the back and with an actual mouth hole at the front with two full viking horn teeth. The hole leads to a mouth printed on the torso. It's barely visile once assembled but it basically gives it a second set of teeth like certain eels have!

By in Belgium,

At first I thought I had this but as it turns out, I was wrong. I did buy most of the Atlantis sets for my children but this one was not among them, however I did get 7771 Angler Ambush hence my confusion :-)

I liked the first wave better.

Can’t believe I’ve only just noticed that angler fish has a gold tooth. What a bizarre but hilarious detail to fit in to the set

Fortunately he can only attack at 90 degree angles, making those attacks fairly predictable. I've got a black belt in Euclidean Karate, you are outmatched and outmathed.

All that aside, this was an amazing set. There's just so much to love.

There's a black version from sets like 4818, and the wings definitely came in black (I used them on a Batmobile). The flame doesn't come in any shade of black, though.

Barracuda Guardians are different, but really need a larger body, although they have found an interesting place to store their flippers.

If you place a propeller in front do you need to drive in reverse to go forward?

By in United States,

Eh, I like 7771 better because I find Aqua Raiders superior to Atlantis. But looking at this one, it's not a bad remake.

This theme got me back into lego. I caught it at the tail end of the wave. I'm glad I got what I have, but I don't have this set.

Turns out I have that one, too! I must’ve really liked angler fish at the time.

I never noticed that gold tooth before either!

No one going to comment on the trans-yellow visor + gear that you can quickly use in a space setting? A good set in my book.

Yeah, the black one. But that's become kinda boring.

Has been possible since the black dragon came out in 1997, and with a single set too - 6047/6099.
