I love the rocket droids. They really only ever showed up in the second episode of The Clone Wars with a significant role, but their impact was long lasting. I also love that they even have a commander in their ranks in this set. And then the Hyena Bomber, I mean, that's just cool looking. It had a bit more use throughout the show as the Separatists needed a bomber to combat the Republic's Y-Wings, but still not overly common like the standard and smaller Vulture Droids. Clone Wars gave us some cool LEGO sets.

So are they bombing hyenas, or hyena droids?

My cousin had this set, it was infamous for being pretty unstable. That's probably why.

The CIS had some of the best Star Wars vehicles, given they were also characters! I've still got this guy mostly intact, no idea where most of the Rocket Droids parts went though. The size of it is really imposing compared to the standard Vultures, feeling very alien-mecha

From what I remember they had this high pitched laughing sound they'd make when attacking that the Clone Army thought sounded like hyenas. How space aliens an entire galaxy away know what hyenas sound like is anyone's guess.

Such an underrated Clone Wars set

Great set, was good to have something that felt beefier and harder hitting for Separatist ranks amongst all the more basic fighters

The set is quite a spindly one but at least it has the walker and flight modes, which are on par with the one with 7751 Ashoka's fighter in that the neck folds out and each leg moves on it's own. This was first perfected movement-wise with 7660 Naboo Fighter and Vulture Droid and both this set and 7751 continued on from there; They both appeared in the winter wave for 2009. Kind of strange that the regular kind was relegated to an exclusive set, but I suppose people might have had the 2005 one already. Or the brown 2007 or 1999 ones. The earlier ones just had you move the head and legs by removing and placing them elsewhere.
This one has more size than the others, so I wonder what that does for the model?

Anyway, it is a relatively niche fighter and was never redone again, like with many Clone Wars sets from the time.
