LEGO x Crocs collaboration incoming

Posted by ,

When I saw this picture on Facebook earlier today I thought it was some AI-generated joke, given how totally ridiculous it looks, but apparently it's a thing: Crocs shaped like LEGO bricks are coming.

According to Fashion Network they'll be available from mid-February priced at $150, and they'll include a minifigure with several pairs of its own Crocs to wear.

View a video of someone wearing them in which you can see how impractical they are after the break.

Dang, I jumped the gun with my Crocs.

I agree, many times already, but this isn't even close to the maddest thing this week...

Gravatar
By in United States,

These look very uncomfortable to walk in.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love my Crocs, but I think I'm done with cross-over lines.

They've jumped the shark.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

This must be an April fools joke
Get serious, fellows

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Now I am a snappy dresser but these aren't for me. It feels like Lego is losing its sole, with all these new products. I don't think this is a market Lego needed to dip its toe in!

Gravatar
By in France,

For around 20-30 €/£/$ this could have been a silly joke or impulse buy territory for costume parties or such. At this price tag this is just head scratching.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Maybe TLG won't be so keen to see photos of their brand name washed up on a beach near you.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Wow, that's somehow even worse than I'd imagined from the title.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These are for the rich kids of Instagram. Unwearable fashion, but good for social media likes.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Is this 2000 again?

If the Lego Lost at Sea project is any indication that ship has definitely sailed…

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Is the suit also LEGO?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

So, will we get brick-built Crocs? Will they hurt as much as stepping on a brick bare-footed?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is it April the first?

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

Is the 23rd of January the new April 1st?

Who thought this would be a good idea? They even made it some sort of a high-end product. It's unbelievable.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These are for Instagram and for new-in-box collectors.

By in United Kingdom,

I’m certainly not one to judge about fashion choices that prioritise The Look over ease of use, and lord knows I own a fair few pairs of heels despite barely being able to walk in trainers. However, I have the general impression that Crocs fans in particular do tend to care quite a bit about comfort and being able to walk in them. I’m guessing these’ll appeal more to the General Quirk type than the majority Crocs audience but hey, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

By in United Kingdom,

What a complete croc(k)

We all know it's not nice walking on Lego, so it appropriate they are uncomfortable

Gravatar

I think "Lego is cool" peaked just after the covid pandemic, and the decline is in progress.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These are pretty funny, would be an amusing set of novelty footwear if they were cheap, but at that price, it's just ridiculous. I'm sure people could make their own for much cheaper!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why is TLG collaborating with the ugliest shoe ever made?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The guy in the video struggled to walk in them, but clearly paid to promote them.

The fashion industry is rife with novelty designs, which are made to generate publicity and not to be actually worn. Unfortunately it looks like Lego are going down this route and more focused on social media novelty and memes, rather than creating long lasting items.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Think I'll start wearing my shoeboxes around. Looks about the same.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The thing I'm most curious about is the included minifigure and what its Crocs will look like.

I'd make an arch comment about those puns, but I don't want to be a heel.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Paying LEGO to protect you from stepping on LEGO, this dastardly deed is a step too far

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Well, if Lego group will earn some $$$ with this brilliant idea of dumb product AND because of that sets will be % cheaper then it's GREAT NEWS!

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

This will go over in history as one of the worst lego sets ever. Very interesting.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm wearing Crocs right now......fake Crocs that is. My brother brought these years ago from Czechia, and pretty sure these were nowhwere near as expensive....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's a licensed shoe. Calm down.

From what I understand, many people find them extremely comfortable. I pronate, though, so they’d probably be hell on my ankles, I couldn’t bring myself to wear them with socks, and I can’t stand having even a hint of excess moisture in my shoes.

Gravatar
By in Czechia,

Fifteen F1 cars seems like quite reasonable idea now

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Legospresso crocschiato

Gravatar
By in United States,

Welp, that's it. LEGO has jumped the shark and lost the plot. Sanity has left the building, and it won't be back.

Gravatar

I stepped on LEGO with LEGO.

I really need to watch those movies. All four of them are on my Paramount+ watchlist, but I still have a bunch of Star Trek to get through!

Watch at least the first two! Even though the aforementioned scene is from the third installment, the first two are far better.
And the less said about the remake, the better.

By in United States,

A novelty item priced like a luxury item. Part of the trend of selling the worst quality things at the highest price possible. LEGO must know it has a lot of fools with money that will buy whatever nonsense they sell.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As someone who teaches at a private school in a wealthy area: there is absolutely a market for this, and I'm expecting to see at least one of my students wearing them at some point.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is so stupid.

I want a pair.
But not at $150. What are they thinking.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I want to see someone run in these.

And that vest needs the DOTS treatment.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'd rather walk on my LEGO bricks than this collab.
And this from someone who wants and has the LEGO Adidas shoes.
Now LEGO and Doc Martens, that would be a collab. Imagine a studded footprint.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Sure, that might as well happen.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I so want these but I'd probably end up breaking my neck or something when I inevitably trip myself while attempting to walk in them. The price is no worse than any of the sneaker collabs they've done so far.

Maybe they should have been modelled on the head of the classic 6026c01 crocodile as seen in 7080.
