Holiday Jet (Aeroflot Version)

©2003 LEGO Group

Today's random set is 4032 Holiday Jet (Aeroflot Version), released during 2003. It's one of 28 World City sets produced that year. It contains 151 pieces.

It's owned by 33 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $100.00, or eBay.

Gonna be funny if that gets picked tomorrow.

By in New Zealand,

I would comment something interesting but we've had nearly every variant of this set appear on RSotD, so everything that has needed to be said has been.

By in United States,

Only one more variation left until the whole trilogy is completed! 4032-6

(I'm kinda not sure if this is the first time that all of the variations were mentioned in the rsotd. lol) Also, how many times that timmy can't learn his lesson about catching planes

By in Belgium,

I was wondering how many “multiple” actually is, and it turns out there had been 13 versions, out of which 12 had been already RSotD! Wasn’t expecting that many. It also makes me want to see the random number generator @huw is using for this :D

And what sort of festivities will we have to throw when that final variant is in fact picked? Some sort of grand farewell party?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Every time the Holiday Jet appears is a holiday!

Btw, itvtook me 12 aopearances of this set in the RSOTD to notice the lady minifig has Obi-Wan's ginger hair from Attack of the Clones.

Long have I waited. I suppose the next one will be checked off the list in 2028.

Sounds like a job for Jack Stone.

Can do! Will do! Done!

Hmm. Do you think they picked that as Jack Stone's slogan because, to a non-native-English-speaker, Stone seems to rhyme with "done"? I just realised that.

Everybody will be obliged to buy at least one variant of the plane!

If they wanted to match slogan to name, why not just name him "Will Do"?

Although - yeah, to a non-native English-speaker, "will do" looks like it rhymes with something very different. I just realised that.

At least that particular item is useful. Unlike Jack Stone.

By in United States,

Something I just found out: According to the database, this set doesn't have any minifigs (Rebrickable lists three, the two shown in the box image and a pilot), and, according to Bricklink, it only has two parts, which are both sticker sheets, one with Roman letters, one with Cyrillic. This is because Bricklink seems to consider this set a multi-pack consisting of one set (the generic, unstickered version seen in the box image) and the sticker sheets. We don't have an entry for the generic version, which Bricklink lists as 4032-14. I'm guessing that it was never available to the public by itself.

It's way bigger than a trilogy.

With the traditional celebratory kicking of the Timmy into the engine.

Aeroflot? More like AeroFLOP with their dubious (practically non-existent) safety record! Also, somebody needs to get those 33 people T-shirts that say: "I flew Aeroflot and survived, and all I got was a tiny LEGO set and this lousy T-shirt!"

Are you kidding? Jack Stone is at least three times the size of Timmy! Ingest him into the engine and the whole nacelle will be bent out of shape!

I've already done that after finding a collection with most versions of 4032 on eBay years ago! :)

I'm surprised that the intro says "If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $100.00, or eBay." I've never seen one of the Aeroflot versions of 4032 on Bricklink and I bought the only one that I ever saw show up on eBay as well, so I would think that the price would be much higher than that estimate. It also looks like there are two versions of the sticker sheet that comes with this set according to Bricklink (I'm not sure which one I have).

Same scarcity goes for the Malaysian airways version. It took me a few years to track down one of those as well!

The versions of this set all had the same box with the sticker sheet inside a little plastic bag that was attached to the outside of the box.

Make that 34 ;-)

Though to be fair, Aeroflot isn't nearly the most questionable airline I've ever flown with. I mean, they just used modern Airbus jets for those flights. The real fun starts with an Ilyushin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZkfctKLVRY

The idea that Jack Stone might be some form of kaiju is a fascinating addition to the lore

Well done, Brickset family.

We just made Jack Stone interesting!

You know, the Lego Group couldl've used us about 20 years ago...

It's not a trilogy. It's a tridecology. Or perhaps a triskaidecology.

On a more somber note, this is Timmy's last chance at reincarnation. After the final set is picked, he's sucked into the jet engine forever, never to return. Dead.

Nope, still a whole bunch of sets with another version of him that haven't been chosen for RSotD: https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Timmy
