Random figure of the day: shg021

Posted by ,

Today's random figure is shg021 Kryptomite - Blue, Large Crystals, Hands, a DC Super Hero Girls figure that came in one set, 41233 Lashina Tank, released during 2017.

Our members collectively own a total of 2,270 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $2.90.

That face is their reaction from being told that they aren't a minifigure all the time.

Now that’s what I call a mini…. Eh ya know what, he looks so sad I’m not even going to insult him. Oh wait…

Even with the broadening to “figure” recently, I think this particular specimen is pushing it.

TLG won't give us: Dr. Fate, Hawk and Dove, Guy Gardner, the Ted Kord version of Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Ambush Bug, or a plethora of others...BUT they'll give us THIS...no wonder the 'League' disbanded: THERE IS NO JUSTICE...:|

Wasn't this called "Random Minfig of the day?" When was it changed?

So any tile with a face on it is a 'figure' if you add two clips for hands, stretching a little.

I cannot wait for a popcorn-piece to become RMotD so I can bathe in the frothing spittle and piping hot tears of everyone impotently hammering away at their keyboards insisting that THIS CAN NEVER BE A MINIFIGURE AND LEGO IS OVER FOREVER -while- I'm snacking on that very same popcorn-piece-minifigure.

And sure, that means I'd be bathing in some pretty gross stuff while eating a piece of ABS, but hey. That's no weirder than choosing THIS as your hill to die on.

Om nom nom nom.

@Huw changed it after https://brickset.com/article/129246/random-minifig-of-the-day-drm081 caused the usual discussion of what was and what wasn't a minifig. The first article to be posted under the title "Random Figure of the Day" was a minifig by anyone's lights: https://brickset.com/article/129282/random-figure-of-the-day-hp373 "

Although it does seem the Huwbot chose violence that day, by picking a figure that A) has no legs, B) has nostrils (while not having a nose (on a minifigure-head, which typically doesn't have a nose to begin with)) and C) famously, sometimes doesn't even have a body.

I imagine the Huwbot also pigging out quite heavily on ABS popcorn while people went up to their favourite hills.

Earlier this year, I believe, in response to many people commenting that various figures that had been selected weren’t technically minifigures.
