Elves teaser site live at LEGO.com
Posted by Huw,
A teaser site for the new Elves theme has gone live at LEGO.com. There's not much there yet, just a 30 second teaser video and a nice picture of the protagonists, which I am told are called Aira Whisperwind, Farran Leafshade, Emily Jones, Naida Riverheart and Azari Firedancer.
It confirms a release date of March 2015.
Thanks Aanchir for the news.

March 2015, surely?
Obviously there is a palace hinting a bigger set. It looks like a temple. The current settings all look very remote, so can we see the Elvendale capital and royalties along with new Castle sets in a future wave?
As for the cartoon itself, long as it's a fantasy like Chima, I really hope Elves to get the same treat and not end up as mini-episodes like Friends' online video.
I'm hoping we see a set based on that Winged-Horse Drawn Chariot thing.
Looks like Chima Part 2 to me...strange and uninteresting.
I'm actually pleased that this theme isn't out til March. There's so much I want to buy next year I need to spread the load!
Looks like girl from our world sucked into the world of elves. Could be interesting story, but need evil baddie to open the story up...
From what I have seen on the boxart so far, I am liking this new theme very much for its very beautiful fantasy setting, new parts and colors.
Looking forward to its release in Mar 2015.
Even though there are a small number of characters involved thus far I am glad they added a male elf into the scene. And even though its supposed to be "girly" the way the sets look it could be just as viable for a boy as well. If you remove the minidolls from the equation the ship from set 41073 is still an interesting and viable build for boys. And 41075 is a lot like the Ewok village. There may be some bright colors but I don't see anything other than maybe the minidolls that would exclude these sets from male LEGO collectors/builders/players.
It is a shame they decided to make the Elf hair the strange colours they have.
If they had been blond, brown or black they could have been used as parts for LOTR elven armies.
It is a shame they decided to make the Elves minidolls instead of minifigs...
I have to say the colors on that video are gorgeous. It is such a unique and vibrant color palette when compared to anything else Lego.
Considering that one of the items that Lego found was that an aesthetically pleasing color palette was very important, I am not surprised they are changing up the color palette for this set.
Huh, that image of a house is somewhat intriguing.
Looks awful, I almost threw up after watching the trailer. :P
I'll just save my money for Bionicle instead.....:D :P
This theme looks brilliant. Love the art direction, character designs, sets, and the tidbits we've heard about the story. It's done a lot to raise my expectations, now I certainly hope the full story can actually live up to them!
Those character designs look very messed up to me... the minidolls actually look better in this case!
@PicnicBasketSam Why is that? It seems to me like their faces and proportions are very realistic and human-like, aside from the pointed ears.
"Aira Whisperwind, Farran Leafshade, Emily Jones, Naida Riverheart and Azari Firedancer"
Which one of these names does not belong?? :P
Connection speed to slow to watch the video, however agree with a few comments above about the story.
A girl (possibly from Heartlake city??), finds a book/map or similar artifact, and get taken to the world of elves, where she meets, and becomes friends with the 3 girl and 1 male elves. Whether she has to find things to get home, or travels freely between worlds and has adventures there is a plot to be found. If it is a free travel thing, then the others from the Friends sets could be making appearances...
Yep names would give it away, but I was just going from the few images I have seen...
As for using them for boys, I will be honest, and I regularly get some of the Friends sets, give the minidoll to my niece, and use the market stall, dojo, or whatever the set is to enhance my city sets (after changing some of the more "outstanding" coloured bricks that is...)
