New inventories, parts and instructions
Posted by Huw,
Shop.LEGO.com is still a bit of a shambles but it looks as if the LEGO customer service team is on the ball, at least.
Today, inventories for 163 sets have been added, which include 970 new parts. I think the team at New Elementary will have a field day looking through them.
Unfortunately LEGO has ceased categorising parts in their inventories and all are now lumped under a single category, 'Bricks, Special', which is a bit of a nuisance.
Instructions for 22 sets have also been published.

Thank you Huw for sharing my work, it can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/115928480 @N03/14793248296/in/set-72157645785522606
OMG 970 new parts... In 163 sets.
How many does this make in total?!
26213. Most new parts are minifig torsos, heads etc. etc.
Yeah there are a lot of new minifigures and licensed parts as well as some recoloured pieces. One that stood out is:

I also like the new pieces in the Detective's Office.
What the... surely it's a mistake???! TLG's categories were always a bit ropey but I find it hard to imagine they've ditched using them. If nothing else this will affect online PAB, which offers the categories as a search option.
@Adzbadboy - The piece you linked to is the so called 'app brick' included in the Ultra Agents sets this year.
Having built only a couple of smaller sets so far I have already come across some interesting pieces. Perhaps the most interesting in my opinion was this redesign: http://brickset.com/parts/6071226 I wonder why they deemed that necessary?
^^ I don't know if they use the same data for PaB as inventories, you'd expect them too, wouldn't you, but take a look at https://service.lego.com/en-gb/replacementpartsWhatBrick/10246, click on any image and it'll be 'Brick, special'
The one that's really surprised me is that the new green 32x32 baseplate (set 10700) is BRIGHT green, not regular green. http://brickset.com/parts/6097276
@CapnRex, the simpler clip on the 1x1 has been around since late 2013 I think, I first got it in a TLM set - or do you mean that it's been tweaked further still? Indeed it seems to have a new design ID.
^No, I think they've remolded the baseplates and they are the same colours. Even the blue one is new.
^ yeah someone on Facebook who has seen one said the same thing, that it is normal green. So I guess that means it was a data entry error on Lego's part to call it bright green.
Cool. Taking a look right now...
The new clip, http://brickset.com/parts/6071226, has much weaker 'clutch' than the older version. I don't expect it will be a problem in official sets but on the unofficial lionfish model that I reviewed in December and which was probably designed using the old style, it's not sufficient to stop the heavier side fins drooping.
After digging through this I found that part 4185 returns in Trans Light Blue. It is include in new Ultra Agent set: 70170-1 UltraCopter vs. AntiMatter. And there are three of it. Part in this color was only included in 10026-1 Naboo Starfighter - UCS. So it is return of rare color of that part. Hurray, I hope now price for this part in this color will drop
There's some sets that aren't yet in the database that have inventories on the site - 30293 Kai Drifter (which is a Ninjago polybag), and 30284 Tractor (Creator polybag).
Thanks, we've added them so the inventories will be gathered when we next do a sweep, on Sunday.
Once again, thank you to Brickset for being a reliable service and TLG, thanks for nothing... Categorising to 'bricks, special' is stupid and your LEGO.com has been a bloody shambles! Luckily I categorise by colour or are you guys going to have a 'colour, special' category as well. For our US friends, colour is spelt with a u, haha!
The weaker clutch for that clip may actually be a good thing for many applications where the other version is too stiff. And since @cappie decided to start this flame war, I'll just politely point out that we in the US aren't so ashamed of our language that we felt the need to add unnecessary vowels to make it look more like French. ;)
I just come back from my LEGO Store and I can confirm it's the new lighter green featured in the Minecraft sets and that the old Green and Blue baseplates have sadly been discontinued.
Thank you for posting this here. I hope you do so all the time.
