Here are the official Wall•E fix instructions
Posted by Huw,The revised version of Wall•E with the rotating head fix is finding its way into the shops now. @Geeky_tom on Twitter found one and has sent us photos of a new instruction booklet that replaces steps 92 -108 in the original manual.
It should be possible to determine which parts are needed to implement the fix by comparing new steps 92-108 with the old ones. I don't have time to do that at the moment, but hopefully someone reading this will.
Update: the parts required are now listed in the comments.

Is everything sorted now then? I've been tempted by the Wall-E set. If I were to buy the set in a UK LEGO store or online, I will have a version with the updated fix and have no problems with the neck?
I've no idea how you'd tell. Probably best to order in the new year from LEGO.com to be sure.
Has anybody been able to get the replacement parts for this fix from customer service? They keep sending me the click hinges for neck.
I purchased the set yesterday from my local toys-r-us and it had the updated instructions and neck
The revised instruction book (available on-line) is part number 6162870, whilst the original instruction book is part number 6146259. The part number on the instructions is on the back cover in the bottom right corner.

Now to try the rebuild....
Got this from customer services, on the 2nd of December, after contacting them again.
"We hope to start shipping out the new building instructions and replacement pieces in the next week or two! We'll notify you when the pieces are shipped out."
Rebuild is now complete and luckily I had all the new parts in stock.
Below is a list of the new parts required:
Lego Part BL Part Colour Quantity
4619760 92013 DBG 1
4211350 2412b LBG 2
4654582 99781 LBG 3
6146458 64276 DBG 1
6015356 11214 DBG 1
4140430 32291 Black 1
As @Huw mentioned above the rebuild involves stages 92-108 in both the old and new instruction books and once the bracket is attached on stage 108 the rebuild is complete.
Your Wall-E mark 2 will be much happier after his new parts are attached and so will you, as the new version is so much better. Quite how the original version escaped the factory..... but lets not go there and be happy that we now have a fix.
It's well worth the time and effort to rebuild him.

Thanks Calv.
Are the sets on sale now already 'fixed'?
Will vip members who bought the set get the fix sent to them automatically, or do we have to do something? Will they have them in the Lego store?
Didn't realize this was new info. I'd have taken some pics of the extra parts and instructions when I got mine several days ago. I ordered online right before they put it on hiatus so inadvertently became an early adopter of the revised version since they deferred shipping it.
Has someone found a way to distinguish between a new Wall-E and old one with swiveling head just by looking at a box? Because I really want to get one, but I don't want to have the old version. I know that Lego can send the replacement parts etc., but in Poland there is no official Lego store, and sending everything by post would take forever.
@Calv
Should '6146458 64276 DBG 1' be '6136458'?
@ Greendude: That's the colour. DBG: Dark Bluish Grey. LBG: Light Bluish Grey.
@NBJMarks
Yeh, but it's not showing up in the database so i'm assuming it's incorrect?
My apologies for the typo in the parts list.
Part 6146458 should be 6136458 as spotted by @greendude . Perhas a mod could edit the post for me as i cannot edit it now.

Does anyone know if TLG are offering the parts / instructions to everybody who owns the set or just those that bought it directly from them? Just wondering if I need to hit BrickLink out dropping LEGO's Customer Services Team a message.
I pre-ordered my Wall-E from Amazon in the beginning, so I'm wondering if LEGO.com would still send me the correct parts kit?
Has anyone contacted LEGO support and gotten this fix? Every time I try to contact them I get the bracket fix that initially occurred in the Wall-es
I can CONFIRM that the version which is selling at the LEGO online shop is the NEW one with the new parts and instruction.
I put a missing parts request in, can't see why they wouldn't honour it.
Greendude so far the customer service people have been clueless. I'm waiting for them to figure it out before I contact again.
I had a helpful lady on the phone yesterday @ LEGO Customer Service. She confirmed that there was a list of people who had notified LEGO of having an issue with the swivelling neck (the drooping head issue gets resolved with the bag with 4 extra hinge pieces), and once the replacement kits are ready these people will get one shipped to them. Had my name added to the list of course.
