Review: 76061 Batman vs. Catwoman
Posted by CapnRex101,
The third and final DC Super Heroes Mighty Micro is 76061 Batman vs. Catwoman. I expect this will prove to be one of the best selling sets of the range due to the enormous popularity of the characters included and the presence of some uncommon or even exclusive parts!
However, whether it can match the excellence of 76063 The Flash vs. Captain Cold, reviewed here, waits to be seen. Read on to find out...
Minifigures
Batman is one of the most popular Super Heroes of all and it therefore stands to reason that his Mighty Micro minifigure should be among the best. It features short legs like the other figures in the range but I am not entirely happy with the black colour choice as this does not match the torso and looks a little strange as a result.
I very much like the simple torso and comic head, although the narrow eyes on the latter may not be to everyone's taste as we have come to expect plain white showing through the eyes of Batman's famous cowl, at least in minifigure form. The decision to include a full-length cape surprised me but it works nicely, stretching all the way to the ground but also hanging over the back of the Batmobile when The Caped Crusader is standing in place.
Catwoman is more similar to her last comic-inspired incarnation which appeared in 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase, although the design of her head has been altered and she has short legs on this occasion. I like her cowl very much and the printing on her head matches up nicely with it, giving the impression of a body glove around her neck and head.
The torso is excellent as well, with a zip printed on the front and a belt which continues onto the back. The cat insignia on her belt buckle is a nice touch on the part of the graphic designer, as are the pruple highlights which match the colour of her vehicle. Catwoman is equipped with a diamond and a milk carton.
The Completed Model
Batman rides a miniaturised version of the Batmobile, as one might expect. This tiny model is recognisable as the Batmobile, featuring a flaming exhaust, tail fins and a printed Batman symbol, but is not as much fun as some of the other vehicles in the range. It is little more than a simplified version of Batman's famous car and somehow that does not entirely satisfy me. The large rear wheels give the impression of a forward rake which does not suit the traditional sleek design of a Batmobile.
However, I like the profile of the model from the back and the yellow wheel hubs compliment the primarily black bodywork very nicely. There is room for Batman to stand behind the steering wheel and the cape hangs over the backrest perfectly, so there is no risk of crumpling the spongey material.
I think Catwoman's vehicle is far more impressive. It closely follows the traditional design of the character with a printed cat's eyes design at the front and a poseable tail at the back! The colour scheme also suits Catwoman as she is often portrayed in purple and black outfits and this corresponds with many of the motorcycles which have appeared in the comics.
I particularly like the 1x1 slopes which form ears on the front of the model and it is pleasing to see the spoiler element appear in another new and exclusive colour! My only criticism of this vehicle is that the wheel hubs look slightly odd in light bluish grey. Black would perhaps have been more suitable.
Overall
I am not entirely sure what to make of this set. The Catwoman minifigure looks splendid and I like her vehicle too, but the Batman figure is not particularly appealing in my view and the miniature Batmobile is rather dull.
If you do not already own a Catwoman minifigure then this is an excellent opportunity to get one but otherwise I think you can skip this set in favour of some of the other Mighty Micros.

I really like this set, probably because Catwoman is my favorite comic character. Planning on getting this sometime soon. Great review!
Thanks for the review! This set looks good, but I have other priorities at the moment, even if it is under £10.
Like you, I'm a bit dubious about some elements of the vehicle design, but I'm going to pick this set up to get the minifigures, primarily.
I've seem so many people criticizing Mighty Micro set for being much cartoonish. Remember that it's focused for little kids. It's like a baby heroes line.
We picked up all six sets. The bat-mobile to me is very fragile as the kids tried pushing it around the floor and it had to be reconstructed multiple times. Whereas the other sets are a little tougher. I do like the cat-mobile, but yes the bat-mobile was a let down in design and sturdiness. The figures are fun for the kids, I know a lot of AFOL are not big on them, but the kids love them. We look forward to a new series with more characters. Great review.
I bought this set on the day of release and I like it, though not as much as The Flash vs. Captain Cold. Some of the Marvel ones look good too so I look forward to reading about those.
Keep up the great reviews! I was looking at the staff reviews tab earlier and it's great that the Brickset team does so many in such a short space of time nowadays.
Interesting. I think this might be the first time that slope brick on Catwoman's vehicle has been printed.
Besides that, neither the vehicles nor figures of this set really speak to me as much as some of the others, but they're still decent.
I love the way that the batmobile distills the cartoonish essence of the vehicle in the animated series (1996) and also the 1989 burton film - tail fins, yellow wheels and printed yellow logo.
I love this set
Cartoony but unimpressive. I don't want a Catwoman THAT much.
Why they create windshields in Mighty Micro and Microfighters using two cheese slope (50746) instead of using a transparent 1x2x2 roof tile (85984)? BTW, why there's no 1x2x2trasnparent roof tile?
I will be getting this set for Catwoman. After replacing the legs and she'll look pretty good. I'd prefer a less toony belt buckle though.
The Batman colour scheme is the same as the original comic appearance of Batman, that might have been the inspiration.
I love these sets. They gave me the pieces and inspiration needed to make bumper cars for my Joker bumper car ride moc.
The stumpy legs for the Mighty Micros are the biggest turn off for me.
"The large rear wheels give the impression of a forward rake which does not suit the traditional sleek design of a Batmobile."
Many Batmobiles have had larger rear tires, most notably the Tumbler and the 1989 movie Batmobile. (I believe there's also a size difference for the second and third movie Batmobiles of the 90s, the 'Mobiles from Arkham Knight and Dawn Of Justice, and the one from "The Batman" animated series, but it's subtler for those.)
Why are the JANGBRiCKS video reviews never provided? I thought they were to be embedded in each set review.

These remind me of the tiny turbos from Lego racers. Those were the best sets ever.
This is pretty epic, the two best DC comics minifigures together.
