LEGO to build on their ever-expanding cinematic universe
Posted by TheBrickPal,
Due to the very positive reception of the first two teaser trailers for The LEGO Batman Movie, Warner Bros Pictures today announced quite a few new titles to continue the LEGO cinematic universe where The LEGO Movie Sequel will leave off in 2018.
These will be made to appeal to demographics such as nostalgic, much younger, and very mature.
- The LEGO Deadpool Movie - The LEGO Group has forced WB and 20th Century Fox to unwilling team up and produce this film that is sure to be a mega-blockbuster. That means that they had to cancel the live-action Deadpool sequel. It will feature uncomfortable scenes you would never expect (for a film with the word LEGO in the title), both extremely cheesy and insanely clever jokes, fourth wall breaking, crazy brick-based violence and so much more. Of course, Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as the famous anti-hero... but this time, he'll be much more... kid-friendly? Maybe, we'll see!
- The LEGO Galidor Movie - Although they know very well that it will flop, LEGO has decided to cater to the nostalgia of the constraction community with this film. Watch Nick Bluetooth as he moves through a painful-to-look-at CGI environment that won't in any way try to replicate The LEGO Movie's beautiful animation style! The Galidor toyline will also be rebooted as a big-bang theme to heavily promote the movie; using a massive budget taken out of the other more important themes. Hooray!
- The LEGO DUPLO Movie - It's like a direct-to-DVD preschooler-targeted film... but in theaters! Starring everyone's favorite LEGO-but-not-really-LEGO bricks, expect a cameo from the aliens as well. It'll be a great movie-going experience for everyone... who is a four year old that can keep a long-term attention span. So really it will be a great experience for nobody. But that's not stopping the folks at LEGO and Warner Bros!
These films will be surefire hits and are definitely going to further improve the company's finances for years to come!
Thanks to LEGO and Warner for sending in this information. Which one are you most looking forward to?

Hmm what day is it? Lego would never do Deadpool. Way too violent!
Lego Galidor Movie hahaha good one
Galidor movie would be sick
Lol, as if.
1 lame April Fools joke is bad enough. Did we really need 2?
At first I was taken aback, then I remembered what day it was. Funny stuff!
^Bring on joke 3
April Fools joke.
I was utterly horrified when they mentioned a lego Galidor movie. But then i remembered, its 1st of April :3.
oh my gosh!
this news is just fAntastic to hear. lego has been working so hard to reach a Point like this. i can't help but feel pRoud to be a fanatIc of this wonderuL product.
all in all, this Feels like the right time tO be bringing this sOrt of thing to Light. Sweet!
Was waiting for it... good job brickset team!
Ninety-nine percent certain this is today's April Fool's joke.
I can finally stop spending all of my well, spending money to buy up all the awesome, yet difficult and expensive to find, Galidor sets I missed when they were originally released. Here's to hoping they remake every single set! Fingers really crossed here!!
Who is Galidor anyway?
I fell for this.

You got me.
I dunno, Galidor could probably benefit from a reboot. The premise of the story was not too bad from what I remember, and although I never saw the show, I do remember reading later on that they did a poor job of promoting it, which probably helped contribute to its lackluster performance. The worst part was clearly the sets, but if they're going to revamp that in the new CCBS, that'll be great, since it'll be a nice mix of organic and highly technical designs to match the various characters. (I mean, I'd rather another featured Bionicle film, but that can come after the success of Galidor I guess.)
Duplo would be interesting... they'd have to work a bit harder with the more limited brick selection to design the universe, but I don't doubt that it could be pulled off, and be a great way to introduce youngsters to the Lego cinematic universe. Deadpool... well, nice to see Lego pushing out of their comfort zone.
It's past midday. Who's the fool now???? ;)
great April Fools' jokes
LEGO Suicide Squad Movie???????
An R-rated LEGO Deadpool movie would be great. :D
But all April's Fooling aside, I do hope we can get Deadpool in some more LEGO sets now that he's a massive hit at the movie theatres. Admittedly, he's not for the kids but they did put him in a set a few years ago so I don't see why he couldn't show up again. He's certainly got more fans now than he did then.
^^^^^ Someone was fooled! ;-)
Yeah, cause reacting positively to this ridicules news post totally is somebody not getting the joke. ;)
Sorry... not a big fan of April fool jokes. There's so many of them too which makes them kind of pointless.
These sound awesome! I can wait! I mean Galidor the movie, who wouldn't love it?! I can hardly contain my excitement. ;)
What they haven't reported yet is that DISNEY is buying up LEGO.
Ouch, got me! I can't trust a thing you guys say now. ITS A TRAP!
Too obvious as an April Fools joke (at least when I read that Warner is doing a Lego Deadpool movie.
It was after midday in the UK when this was posted, so I took it to be true. Deadpool would be so cool!
Ouch, I was actually fooled there for a minute...
Of course, they already put LEGO Deadpool in a set and he features in one of the LEGO video games, handing out quests.
LEGO is actually why my grade school-age sons know about the rather inappropriate for their age group character.
Fool me once, etc.
WHAT!? please don't make a gala wait a second......... oh harr harr harr.
saw Deadpool and knew it was fools joke. That said the idea of a Lego Deadpool movie sounds utterly awesome to me! I mean really, what better medium to portray one of the most mental, insanely wacky, and down right childish of marvel characters? he practically lives in his own imagination! so I'm sending out the call to you stop motion masters out there, if you see this please make a Deadpool worthy stop motion Deadpool mini movie!
APRIL FOOLS!! Ya had me only for awhile becasue I so wanted the Lego Deadpool movie to be real.
Got so hyped then realized what day it was.....nice try! Lego making a Galidor movie is just out of the question
^ Since when has that ever been a rule?
Wow... first I get flicked in the nose after the "you've got something on your shirt" line, then I fall for this...
@TheBrickPal
Hah! @yuffie just April Fooled you too.
LEGO Group forcing anyone to do anything is the giveaway here. They're too nice for that, more likely they go for passive aggressive moves opposed to overt ones.
I laughed, but my favorite April Fool's thing today are the Bohrok tanks on WoT (IS 8-balls, AKA Spaceballs!).
OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME!!
Judging by the locations of the "before noon" comments, I have to assume that's a UK (or other non-US) "rule". Being from the US, I have never heard that rule before.
Yes, that is my sole take-away from this article: Brits are all-business after noon. :p
@dadkstonegrey Yup, the "force" thing was supposed to be humorous. LEGO would never do that. XD
^ Does it count if I posted this two hours before midday in the US?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Lego Galidor Movie. :P
Although, I would genuinely be interested in a LEGO Deadpool movie... many jokes would arise relating to the limitations of the format. "Well, I would like to break dance, but unfortunately this minifigure body isn't flexible enough." Or... "My hands look like taco shells! WOOHOO!"
Deadpool will be intresting in lego, duplo and Galidor will be dumb though.
^ Exactly the point!
you joke, but we'd totally all watch a lego deadpool movie
The thing is Galidor could actually work as a movie, considering the only flop about it was the toy line. But, Galidor is the easy butt of a joke however...
I will say I've liked this years April Fools jokes though, the Hoth one was pretty great.
Man, I'm excited for that Duplo Alien cameo.
Kinda hoping for a PG-13 rating too.
Why are people being so grumpy about Brickset's April Fool jokes? I love their imaginative, off-the-wall approach to what is, after all, just a plaything...however serious the play in general.
Gotta be honest, though. I'd watch a Duplo movie. I think that'd be great!
For a second there you Fooled me. Is this a joke?
Do you think that the lego deadpool movie will be rated R?
^ Definitely not PG, but probably not R. I'd say in the middle, at PG-13. ;-)
^^ Of course it is, look at the date. :-)
Oh yeah, its April 2nd, isn't it. Bloody timezones throwing me off
i,d love to see deadpool in more lego sets he was only ever in one with wolverine, just like nova and iron fist have only one outing for lego...
fantastic four would be a good lego movie to make.
I'm reading this on the second of April, so i wasn't thinking about april fools. I saw Deadpool and thought that meant we were getting a LEGO Marvel movie and i was so happy (imagine what LEGO would do with Marvel after the Batman thing their doing) but the i saw what was written and I was like
ha.
I am really pissed of that this was a joke. it was a joke right?
^ Yes, it was! I thought I made it pretty obvious in the article itself...
Lol I was oblivious. ;)
XD
I was fooled
you had me fooled
One would really love if Disney brought out Warner Bros then maybe a Lego Deadpool movie might just be able to happen. And it'd be awesome!
