The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book teaser

Posted by ,

For the last few years Chris McVeigh (powerpig) has been creating cool Christmas decorations and publishing instructions on his website.

Many of them, along with a selection of new models, will be featured in a new book, The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book: 15 Designs to Spread Holiday Cheer, that is being published by No Starch in September.

I know Christmas is probably the last thing on your mind at the moment but once you have seen the gorgeous pictures from the book after the break you will probably start wishing for it to come round sooner...

Seems like a great way to add some diversity to the Winter Village setups that people have.

Christmas is the first thing on my mind right now, because where I live we're going through a 105+ degree (40 degrees Celsius) heat wave.

Not too early: it'll take us months to stockpile the massively useful but rare strings (http://brickset.com/parts/6037558) needed for the tree ornaments, currently selling for £2.39 at Bricks & Pieces, or available in dribblingly small amounts on Bricklink for 8p and up.

Despite that, the Gingerbread House would be a good design for this year's stocking fillers.

In my case, I'm just wishing the book came with some bricks just to get the most out of it.

I'm glad the instructions are available in pdf file though!
