More City 2017 images
Posted by TheBrickPal,
Hoth Bricks has us covered once again, with City 2017 set photos not based on police.
What do you think? Let us know in the comments below! In my opinion, these are much better than the last batch.
We have also added them to the database.

Want the pizza van! Others are okay as Well, I guess.
Something different, at least. I really don't care for them though, and I certainly can't afford distractions when I'm still trying to collect the Rogue One sets.
WOW - These look really nice :D
I want to see the Star Wars sets for 2017
Nice to see the pizza van. Yawn to everything else.
Love that individual pizza slice in the Pizza Van set. What do you think the gold crystal is supposed to be? Breadsticks?
Think I will have a Pizza Margherita with the van and a fishing trip, with the boat although I do not like the life jackets.
I see some cool sets there. I may grab a few.
i want the boats and the pizza van
Alot of these really look cool. The Pizza Van can work as a Delivery Vehicle to a city too. lol Definitely like the Dragster.
I think that 2017 is going to be THE BEST year for LEGO City. :D :)
Pizza van ftw!
I love that the Pizza Van has pizza by the slice for the first time in a LEGO City set! The other vehicles are cool as well. The race plane really shows the potential of that new fender piece to be more than just a fender. Lots of great new minifigure parts as well, like the light blue hoodie in the pizza van, blue wetsuit and female face with goggles in the catamaran set, and red and white jacket in the ATV Race Team set!
The street sweeper and excavator seems an odd combination. Like the dragster and it's truck as well as the stunt vehicle and red/white go-kart like set. I really want to like the pizza truck but I'm not feeling it. The Vespa with pizza on the back appeals to me more.
I am getting the Fishing Boat (looks neat and I need more civilians to populate my City); we shall see what happens with the Pizza Van…
I really like the 2 off roaders and the catamaran makes a nice change too. As one of the HothBricks posts commented, all the sets with more than one mini figure have a male and female character included. Good to see IMHO.
Ugh. Pizza again. Lego sells nothing but pizza. Every year it's the same rehash of pizza sets. What about some burgers? incaseyoucanttelliwasbeingsarcastic
Love the Stunt Truck, Pizza Van, Fishing Boat, and Catamaran. The Race Plane and Buggy are OK, too.
Wonderful!!! It was high time for a food truck!! I had started collecting Vespa motorcycles to add to my pizza delivers, http://brickset.com/sets/71007-11/Pizza-Delivery-Man, so as to expand the business!! Unfortunately, the Pizza Van does not follow the same colour scheme...is it the competitor?
Finally, LEGO City set not based on policy and robbers or firemen!!! Thanks!!
Back in my day, 60145 looked like this: http://brickset.com/sets/6528-1/Sand-Storm-Racer !
Time's a changin'!
I find a majority of city sets boring and overpriced because they kinda all look the same but maybe id feel differently if I had my own lego city to put them in! either way it feels a little more lively than other sets in the series.
Sets that caught my eye so far are the Sweeper and Excavator although as mentioned its kind of a weird combo perhaps. I would have preferred just the sweeper. The pizza van, fishing boat and the buggy I think will all be purchases as well.
Due to the red vehicles, we definitely know there are some crooks there in disguise.
I like the pizza van, but also, surprisingly, several of the other models as well. Second favorite is the black and white pickup / ATV set. Well done Lego!
Where's the sausage delivery helicopter (sausage-copter)?
These are stellar sets!! The race plane looks great!
Interesting new wheel fairings on the 4x4 race truck.
hmm That pizza van is tempting! Oo But I think I will hold out to see what the Star Wars battle packs look like for 2017.
That sweeper truck is just so wrong. But I like the pizza van and will look out for that. And why do LEGO insist on putting such small wheels and tyres on their trucks?
RIP yellow pizza, 1994–2013
Pizza van looks good, as does the 60152 Sweeper and excavator. The rest, meh. I am a bit surprised that they could not come up with a few better ideas for sets. The dragster and trailer looks good as well, but the semi and trailer feels a bit phoned in.. maybe it is just me.
All these look great! There seems to be a lot of variety and great pieces (love the pizza slice) in these sets, which I like to see! 2017 looks like a good year for Lego City!
I want a Taco van now! (Yes, I'll get the pizza van)
New sail!!!
Nicely done sets, but they add little new to an existing city. I'd like to see more new concepts, like 60119 Ferry which was a breath of clean air. Instead these are mostly reincarnations of old sets.
I LOVE the pizza van, definitely want the new pizza slice. The truck and sweepers is really cool, I like it a lot ,although I completely agree its a weird combo and a bit of a mix up. The 4x4 with catamaran is great, I will definitely get that one too. I like the race plane because it looks old fashioned. ATV race team is alright.
Only two questions: Why does Lego always drown the Great Vehicles series in random and stupid race stuff. One or two is OK, but 5 out of 9 sets are completely race oriented! People complain about too much police stuff, but at least it is not taking over another series!
Secondly, this is the second 'fishing boat' that is definitely NOT a fishing boat. Its a marina yacht with a person fishing! Why can they not make a fishing boat like a trawler, like in Coast Guard Plane? Could people have complained about fishing trawlers causing over-fishing?
2018 wants: Taco van (good idea josekalel), ice cream truck (number 1 priority) tradesman ute, taxi, glass carrier, food truck, library truck, water truck, regular normal car, mail van/mail motorcycle, refrigerated truck, removalists truck,lorry/small or medium regular van, delivery van, armored car (bank van) meter maid tuk tuk (like in the USA), milk van (a 1950s mini van with the old milk bottles)
Hmmm. I suppose this is how City proceeds. The basic line-ups don't really change all that much. Minor variations from one year to the next with a few standouts, and then some thematic groups that really jump off the chain. But I see similar patterns in other LEGO themes too. That's the marketing side of it all, and making sure that you don't throw a lot of curveballs to the retail store buyers when they are planning their shelf spaces. Still, there is something about the overall designs of the vehicles that look underdeveloped. I dunno...I guess I just want to see them bring back farm stuff and try creating industrial type vehicles that haven't been done already.
Not that I won't be buying most of these of course. :D
(Yeah...like the above couple of posts...those are good choices for vehicles, and they only scratch the surface. If I werent ready to nod off I could list 25 easy)
Another Racecar. Another boat. Another plane. Another police station. Basically it''s the same every year.
love the sand buggy pizza van is spot on, and the dragster transporter, and the atv race team is quite smart, cant wait to see what friends elves marvel, dc and disney has to offer for 2017,
I like the pizza van, it is _almost_ like a building.
The catamaran looks cool!
Quite a few have really impressive designs, also in the police line. LEGO is on a roll!! I like the supercar police chase, bank, police station, stunt plane, rally truck, dragster transporter. Also the LEGO batman sets are delightfully off-the-wall.
Pizza Van + Catamaran for the win.
Do the outboard motors on the fishing boat look MASSIVE or is it just me?
I don't usually buy City sets, but I have to confess that the smaller sets, like the Buggy and the Stunt Truck did caught my eye. The fishing boat looks incredible, as does the the 4X4 with Catamaran. The ATV Race Team looks nice, I really like the different color scheme they went for on the truck. Then there are the odd ones: I love the truck in the Dragster Transporter and the sweeper truck from the Sweeper & Excavator, but like the most of you I just think the mix in the latter is strange.
Still, I wish we could have some more business sets (post offices, bike shops, stores...) and villas in the City lineup, like in the 80's (how I miss the 80's). Oh, and more smaller city transportation sets, like buses and taxis that didn't require you to buy sets like City Square or Public Transport Station to get those. I mean, how do they do in Lego City? It's like everyone has its own car!
Unless, with all the police there is in Lego City, the robbers rethought their way of life and are now Uber drivers! "Red Cars Get You There Faster", now thats a great name for a startup. Or "This Ride's a Steal". Yep, it's catchy and makes complete sense.
I really like the buggy. The pizza van is pretty cool as well. The pickup truck that transports the ATVs isn't too bad either. I might pick up one or two of these sets over the year...
I love the buggy and the race truck. The new wheel arch looks great on it, although I wonder how many more different designs of wheel arch we need? Then again, the last three types have a stupidly awkward brick-high attachment behind them when a plate would do. The Speed Champions type at least fills in the space around it so you don't end up fouling the wheel with bricks. But they're still all awkward to use in any other way than exactly how they're used in a set.
I don't think it works on the front of the plane though - the sloping sides are clearly mis-aligned with the brick-wide red below it. Maybe if it was two of the new arches, one inverted - assuming you can fit them that close...
Can we have a link to 2017 under 'browse' from home page? We have to click 2016 then choose 2017 from the drop down to access all the new set images in one place. I know they are all under 'new sets added' but they are mixed up with different themes.
Nice to see some new sponsors on the racing sets - Octan have had their own way for too long!
@Meesajarjar you can just hit the database link.
Apologies if this has already been asked and answered, but why does the pizza van have a gold rock/crystal piece next to the chef?
Also "City Pizza" is a really unfortunate name for FOLs in Japan owing to the common mispronunciation of "city" there!
The pizza van, stunt truck and fishing boat is on my "want" list.
These all are nice, but that pizza van is the best.
Is the rock crystal meant to be a helping of fries, perhaps?
Then again, it looks to me like the Alien Busters' burger van from SEGA's 'Alien Storm', so it could be anything!
^^ Fries is my guess.
I want the pizza van. I think it's great. It could live with my lego movie ice cream van and the hot dog truck I'm hoping that father Xmas might bring and I can spend January wondering why I can't diet.
LOVE the pizza van!
Is it me or are Lego city trucks getting more American in appearance? See 2017 police trucks, ATV set and dragster transporter for example.
The only one I'm taken by is the pizza truck, although it's a shame Lego haven't gone with a different food type for a change. Interesting that they're sticking with a previously used cab design...
^ @brickchap: some nice ideas there. I've posted some of them on Lego Ideas (mostly expired now), but this one is still alive:

Pizza Van Hype And The Other Sets Look Cool
The pizza van looks great! Not sure about the others yet. At least the pizza van should go well with the ferris wheel and mixer
What's a gold brick doing inside the pizza van? The owner might be a crook in disguise...!
Anyway, the tow truck trouble, dragster transport and pizza van looks good.
Set images video! https://youtu.be/gLuN4-SFpBI
I'm fond of the pizza van, but I'd echo that comment about how a trawler would've been better than the "fishing boat" they're doing...
I want all of these right now!
The City range repeats itself every three years. That's no problem for the target audience as they'll have grown out of Lego City in those few years. AFOLs tend to notice the cycle after a while...
The previous wave of Police with a mobile command centre and a police station was in 2014, the one before in 2011. Expect the next police station after this one in 2020. This year had a lot of fire sets as did 2013 and 2010.
This bunch mostly looks pretty good to me. 60136 is awful though and reminds me of the worst City/Town sets we had in the late 90s. The Unimog is almost as good as the recent dark green one and I like the idea of the catamaran, even if the 4x4 pulling it is not quite as good as the one that comes with the quads/ATVs. I'm not mad about the police using a racing bike, I think the old big fairing was more suitable.
Got to love the pizza van!
