By in Sweden,

Both look great imo!
The prices do not. But that’s to be expected. The gingerbread AT-AT looks even more of a bargain now

I’d consider these with at least around 25-40% off (which is around Amazon pricing after a couple of months)

By in New Zealand,

The Venator looks amazing, will most likely get that.

Not too sure on the AT-AT, it looks alright but I would prefer a playscale one, good thing a new one is set to release later in 2026.

By in Sweden,

I'm not really a Star Wars fan, but that AT-AT is pretty cute. No stickers as well?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm getting that AT-AT the moment it's on sale.
A sale where it is 0.10 pp or less that is.
Very cool, it even has an Octan tank it looks like. but a little too expensive.

By in Netherlands,

40806 looks cool but than you realize 75440 has the same price and 697 pieces.
Doesn't seem like the legs can move
Snowspeeder is better than the 3866 version

By in Romania,

As a fan of display sets, these both look amazing! I'll be getting both for sure, but definitely not on full price

By in United States,

Oh, look, a 4x4 triangular tile on the Venator. Because we don't have enough specialized pieces.

Honestly, the rate at which LEGO cranks out new molds these days is disconcerting... and so many of them are POOPs or other specialized, one-time-use elements (see the hideous leg pieces on the new Ninjago dragon mechs). I started tracking new parts back in 2014, and even then I was surprised how many new parts a company supposedly restraining itself to avoid a repeat of 2004 was creating. LEGO's competitors caved in first, but since 2020, it seems LEGO itself has also fallen to the temptation, the urge - passed from AFOLs to the designers - to recreate preexisting "things" (cars, plants, teapots, Star Wars ships, whatever) with maximum accuracy at any scale. So much for "LEGO approximations" of things, now we have "scale models made using various plastic bits." I would've thought a more limited, fixed parts palette was more in-line with the idea of LEGO, but I suppose that is not the common sentiment anymore.

Do I have a point with this rambling? Not really. I do value accuracy to source material, but I dislike so many special molds. The Venator could have used 3 existing parts (with prints) instead of introducing a new one. Not that doing so would have made the set cheaper - and, while I like this set a lot (the Ep. III Venator is my favorite Star Destroyer after the Imperial class), I'm not paying that absurd price for something so tiny.

By in United States,

Getting soooo tired of display sets. No more room for toys that can't be played with.

That said, I will get both of these at 30-40% off.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

While I love the look of that Venator, it has to be at least 40% off on Amazon or wherever for me to begin considering it.

The AT-AT looks good but tiny for the price.

Gravatar
By in South Korea,

Making the AT-AT's legs fixed was certainly... a choice.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

The ATAT seems like a Speed Champions vehicle with feet. In terms of building techniques.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Loving both of these, especially the Venator, although I think the stand for the AT-AT should have been white (easily fixed).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Me seeing the AT-AT: :D

Me seeing its size and price: D:

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Both look nice, and I particularly like what they did with that Snow Speeder, but indeed those prices.....

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I'm not getting my kid into Star Wars or Lego with sets like these.... Pay through your nose, build it and plop it down somewhere for a while. They look good, are fun to build, but the fix is just too short for the money.

I might get the Venator for that quick fix, but it will be on the only-for-a-very-deep-discount list.

Oh, and single studs (or two on top of each other) being called 'easter eggs' is just plain silly.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Im willing to get them both on sale, Venator has been in my dreams since the Acclamator

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That Venator has been something I’ve wanted since 2005

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The AT-AT looks very good, but could've been improved with a white base.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really like the AT-AT with Snowspeeder.

The stand is screaming to be replaced by a slightly larger snowy white base with a little detail. Look forward to seeing lots of MOCs doing that.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Venator alongside with Acclamator will look cool. I'm tempted, with a huge discount. It's cheaper than the UCS...

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

AT-AT looks great. It will make a nice table piece.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^The Venator I can afford

Jokes aside, both of these look great! I love that they included a mini snowspeeder with the AT-AT. I just wish the prices were as great to match.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tiny baby display only models at big boy prices. No. At this point lego aren't even producing "sets". They're shilling tiny scale models of their huge 800$ "sets".

Also amused by the Venator pictures that show it next to a wallet type object. And the one where the aging hipster is holding the ship, staring at it like "wow it's so tiny!"

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Venator is beautiful. I’m not a fan of the midi scale AT-AT, not just because the sub franchise is called ‘Starship Collection’ but also because I think midi scale sets should only be vehicles Lego can never make minifigure scale, like capital cruisers.

ANAKIN: "We've made smaller versions of famous Star Wars vehicles!"
PADME: "To make them a better value, right?"

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh, I am all over 75441. I've been wanting that since they introduced the Starship Collection. My favorite gray triangle! While I'm not as enthused about 75440, I do like the touch of the snowspeeder, but agree with many other commenters that the set should have had a white base, since the speeder takes it from just "AT-AT" to "AT-AT from the Battle of Hoth."

@BLProductions said:

That doesn't strike me as any more specialized than the 2x2, and we've seen that get used all over the place.

@CommandrCody212 said:"^The Venator I can afford"

May I introduce you to 30053? But seriously, I agree that it's nice to get a display Venator that doesn't take up a huge amount of space.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pretty cool, but not for me.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really like the AT AT but it somehow looks more like a GWP than a priced set

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Gingerbread AT-AT is way better design than this one. They should have just recolored it in gray.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I've been debating with myself whether I should get the UCS Venator for a while now. It looks great but it's very expensive and takes way too much room. But now I don't have to be debating anymore. I love that smaller rendition! It looks great!

I also like the AT-AT. I built the Holliday At-AT yesterday and thought it was extremely small. But I thought it could be a good idea to recolour it in grey. No need for that anymore!

Anyway, I like both, but at the same time, those are not day-one purchase.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Remember getting model kits as a kid? These are those, but in Lego form.

I'm starting to like these, particularly since I've found the Tantive IV and Executor at steep discount. I also appreciate that some of these are going to scale with the Advent Calendar mini-models. The Executor already makes use of a slight variation on the Star Destroyer in 75366. The AT-AT looks like it'll be compatible with the large number of Hoth mini-builds we've gotten--the included Snowspeeder is only slightly larger that the three Advent Snowspeeders in existence.

Keep in mind this one is even smaller though....

By in United States,

The Venator is getting me into the midi line. Now I want the acclamator too

Gravatar

The textureless CGI rope in the render looks awful.

No but I remember getting LEGO playsets as a kid.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Crazy that the AT-AT is $65. Like, dang. Especially when the mini AT-AT from 3866 has more functionality.

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Those prices are no longer sad, they are hilarious.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Was hoping the AT-AT would at least fit a driver in the front (even if the roof had to be open) and a couple of snow troopers in the back...... rather than nobody. Should have been orientated at play rather than just display, as 40806 (Gingerbread AT-AT Walker) was.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

75441 is so good it's making me regret not getting the other midi capital ships on sale...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Looks like more prints than in the UCS counterparts. But over 10 cents for a SW set without Minifigures is still ludicrous.

Have you built the GingerbrAT-AT? It looks cute, but the body panels don’t line up well at all, and it looks like it has a s’more sitting on top because the center dorsal panel sits so much higher than the sloped panels fore and aft of it.

Gravatar
By in Serbia,

Yeah no, ridiculously priced

Gravatar
By in United States,

I could have sworn we already have a Venator, but maybe that was a more play scale size. Either way, looking at that dude holding it in the picture shows how TINY it is. I guess neat they are capable at building at that scale, but for the price of SW sets, I'd want a bit more heft with it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@BLProductions:
The 4x4 triangle tile has the advantage that it can potentially attach to SNOT construction that would not provide enough connection points to accommodate a pair of 2x2 triangles and a regular 2x2. All it needs is two studs to connect and be held in a specific orientation. 2x2 is also the smallest such triangle possible, since a 1x1 triangle wouldn't be able to grip the half-stud it's placed over (closest you can get that works is the 1x1 quarter-circle tile).

You mean the glasses case? Pretty sure the guy you're referring to is trying to find the optimal distance to see it in focus, because he's not wearing his glasses.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Its amazing how people have gotten used to paying a lot more for a lot less.... and spare me the PPP argument. Small is small.
Apparently, the best fans will get now for under 100 USD. Want minifigure stuff? Over pay for a 'battle pack' or well overpay for most of the 'play sets'.
I mean, at least LEGO could have thrown a figure in or something, or would that have made both over 100 USD then?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pretty excited about the Venator, actually. I've been on the fence about getting the UCS version for years, and this just about seals the deal as a cheaper option.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is it just me, or does each ankle of the AT-AT look like a robot going "Oh no!" ?

Check the front plate of the cockpit. There's nothing to index the angle, so you can pivot it vertical or into the cockpit. The side quarter panels are also incredibly flimsy. They aren't braced to the hinge plates like the center panels are, and the lower edge has only one stud connecting it to the rest of the panel. That part could have been fixed by reducing the 1x5 plate to a 1x4 and using 2x2 turntable tops to connect the tile to the plate. Oh, and the dorsal plate sticks up _four_plates_ taller than the angled plates fore and aft of it, which only works on this because the edges make it look like someone plonked a s'mores on top of the model. It really doesn't work if you make it all grey.

By in United States,

Awesome sets, horrible prices. Will wait for them to hit at least 40% off.
