Creator animals are normally very charming and another one will soon be available as a gift-with-purchase on LEGO.com.

40885 Duck Family contains 262 pieces and I think it looks excellent, featuring an adult duck with three little ducklings. I particularly like how the duck's legs fold up against its body, ready for standing or swimming poses.

We have no official information about its availability for now, but it will presumably be a gift-with-purchase in the second half of February.

Oh, this is great. I wish it was a regular set!

This is just plain cute. I love the one "ugly duckling" (definitely a misnomer in this case).

Cute little set. Bet they could have sold a ton of these if they wanted to.

Fingers crossed this will be available when the Pokemon sets go live!

It's crying out for a smart brick!

This is certainly an incentive... But I think it'll be pretty cheap on the aftermarket too.

Also, is it just me, or does this look like a 3 in 1 set that they couldn't figure out what the other models would be?

Certainly much cuter than the hideous otter!
Quite a decent GWP but no more point revealing than the numerous 'leaks' without an official date and threshold!

My mom used to say: A perfect gift is something you would not necessarily buy for yourself but you are still very happy to receive it. This fits perfectly in that sense - I probably would not buy it* but would be glad nonetheless to have it.
(* except as an impulse buy following a large discount)

I have a very large PaB order in the waiting for a decent GwP - the recent ones were not to my taste; this will do.

Even as a parts pack, this is a decent kit.

Otters, with a side of Ducks.
One pond to rule them all!

I love the cattails!

Question is: Does it weigh the same as a witch?

What would it say though? Ducks are terrible for having different noises in different countries. ... Quack quack, coin coin, qua qua, ga ga, rap rap, ...

I think they made it look quite flat on purpose (main body and head only 2 studs wide), like a reference to the old LEGO pulling wooden duck.

And the the set this is a GWP to is that awful snickering dog, I guess?

My brain could not process this sentence. :o)

I MUST get this set for my sister! She loves everything cute, so this would be perfect for her. (Side note: I just built the baby unicorn 6614222 yesterday for her as well, which she chose to name Harriet.)

By in Sweden,

Very nice, shame it's not a regular set instead.

Thankfully 31382 has a very cute duck alternate build and is a regular set.

Very cute! I'll have to see if there's anything I need to pick up.
