First look at LEGO Ideas 21303 WALL•E
Posted by CapnRex101,
Images of LEGO Ideas set #012: 21303 WALL•E, have been posted on the Irish Smyths website. This is probably an error as the set is not due out for several months, although there are no 'confidential' watermarks, hence we are posting them here. An image of the box is available on the set details page.
The price is listed as €57.99, which roughly corresponds to £39.99 in the UK or $39.99 in the US based on similarly priced sets. Naturally there may be some variation but that is our best guess for the time being.
Update: £39.99 is the confirmed price for the UK.
WALL•E is undoubtedly my favourite Pixar film and I think this model looks absolutely fantastic, with very few changes made from the original submission as far as I can see. What do you think of it?
Thanks to LostInTranslation and CM4S for the news.

That is a brilliant set.
I love it. This one's a keeper!
Just fabulous!!! ;)
$39.99? I'm in.
it is also on the UK site, listed for £39.99
Wonderful!
I LOVE it!!!!! a Must Have
my first ideas set!
I am defiantly buying this one, no doubt!
YES!!! Well done to Lego! Looks absolutely brilliant looks like it doesn't differ to drastically from the original submission which is good!
I think they better plan to have enough for everyone this time, because I anticipate it flying off the shelves!
Yeah, just checked the UK Site and its listed as £39.99 and available between the 1-10th of December.... Wonder if they will hour a quantity of 25 for pre-order ;)
I'd suspect they'll have plenty available. Just look at Exo-Suit wave 2 and Birds. Those are still available. Maybe they learned their lesson from earlier releases.
I haven't seen this movie. The set itself looks good, although I was expecting something bigger (that's what she said).
But I'm sure I'll end up getting it. My daughter might end up liking it and might as well get it while it is available instead of having her watch the movie later and want it.
Birds are number 9, BBT - 10, Wall-E -12. So - Dr Who is 11. So no. 2 - we should see him soon?
I think that's what they call an insta-buy....
;-)
€57.99 corresponds to £39.99 or $39.99? Really?
Is this a lever in light bluish grey an the neck??
Bad for the after market seller ;-)
The price won't be £39.99 mate. Ghostbusters was €49.99 and £44.99... £49.99 seems a good estimate.
I hope TLG be cautious with the Yellow tones and achieved all in the same tone
As a big Pixar fan, this is a must have (and perhaps a must display).
@legoguysw - I can't see them sticking another £10.00 on top of this...

i think i'm in love...
Can't wait to get my hands on this set!
I'd say the estimated prices can't be too far off considering this set contains zero minifigs, that alone cuts down on the cost and makes this much more affordable.
The hands do look a tad too big but I don't really care at this point. I am just really grateful that the is being produced!
I think this is a great set! I wish they had the little cockroach friend that wall-e had in the movie but i am just nitpicking. No matter what I will be getting one!
Shut up and take my money!
Well this looks just fantastic.
OH MY! Absolutely wonderful set. Instant purchase.. I really hope TLG is anticipating a rush and will produce enough.
Yeah, that's my Christmas present sorted :-)
All 2015 Irish Smyths prices have been significantly over-priced compared to LLEGO.com. Based on my price comparisons so far this year I reckon that set could be €10 cheaper on LLEGO.com unless the price gap closes.
That looks terrific. I will definitely be buying one. First ideas set that I am actually looking forward to.
Super sweet!
Considering it was designed by someone who worked on the film and perfected by LEGO, I'm not surprised that this is an amazing model. I am surprised by how fantastic it looks! I will definitely get this set!
Will be joining Exo-Suit and Brids on my shelf!
To MrMonsieurGreen above: the little roach friend of WALL-E is sitting on his right shoulder... :)
Adorable!!! Those printed 2 x 2 round elements with a highlight for the eyes are just perfect, and while $34.99 would have made this absolutely PERFECT, I suppose $39.99 still makes this fairly affordable.
Also, do you guys think the roach could be dark brown, or is it just black? It's probably black, but dark brown would be a lovely color to get those minifig-size levers in!
@MrMonsieurGreen: Look really close. The cockroach is there.
Fabulous set. As a big Pixar (and especially Wall-E) fan, this set is a must-have.
@dragonboy1: I think those are inverted round tiles, and the highlight is just added to the photo.
No naysayers so far! :D
This is definitely a must have, despite the long wait.
Maybe Doctor Who will be revealed at SDCC
And that's an Ideas set I REALLY want.
Wow I had no idea Wall-E eats wallets! Mine will be eaten. I'm in love.
I like the look of this but I'm really struggling to see €58 worth of Lego.
would love to add power function to this and watch move around.
BOUGHT!!
Darn adorable. This is a must have!
This is absolutely AMAZING!!! Mark my words....it'll be the best-selling set of the year.
Well, that's pretty much exactly what it should look like. Very good job, that's what happens when you stick to the original design!
Great pricing, so sad that I am cutting at my Lego budget ;(
'The price is listed as €57.99, which roughly corresponds to £39.99 in the UK or $39.99 in US'
Well, evenhough it's known that LEGO pricing policy for continental europe is worse than bad, I don't think this applies. This way the US price would be less than 2/3 of the price in € and £...
If it was a 100 euro I'l still buy it!!!
This is now showing on the Smyths UK site at £39.99!!
Hate to burst the bubble but 39,99 Pounds translate roughly to about 62 Dollar....
Still gonna buy this though :-D
Wall-e is one of my top 3 films of all-time, so this is the perfect marriage of Lego and film for me. Not sure about the price or the particulars, but there's no way I won't be getting this set.
It's a MUST buy.. But.. does it take Power Functions for movement? ;-)
Reading only possitive responses from us AFOL's in this comment section is more amazing than the set itself ;-)
Like parsom observed:
€57.99 corresponds to £39.99 or $39.99? Really?
Are you kidding me???
In that case I won't buy it after all. Even though this looks like my favorite ideas set to date...
(imo exosuit changed too much from idea to set)
@ icey
do you mean us as in USA, or us as the objective case of we?
In the first case I am not that surprised; in the second case I am.
edit: again this looks to be my favorite ideas set to date, but that price.
The US price is simply a guess based on how other sets costing €57.99 in Ireland are priced in the US. It obviously isn't a direct currency conversion.
I think the confusion is because Irish € pricings seem a bit higher than € prices normally are. You actually took this into account so your estimate probably is accurate.
yayyyyyyyyyy
This is the ideas set I've been waiting for... Wall-e is my fav.. I'll be buying a few of these.. I just need Eve to go with him.. Anyone got any instructions for Eve??
This is absolutely fantastic. I will be buying many of these.
Is this the first new set we've posted that hasn't had a single criticism in the comments? Could be a Brickset record!
Oh my god, I'm buying ten. Fantastic.
What a wonderful set. I will buy two.
Quite cool, I do say. This is one set most, if not all, people have been looking forward to!
This is Love luv Love ! This is not just a buy but multiple buy ,can't wait , it's gonna be a long wait
Agree with everyone. Faithful render of the submission and of the character. Will get at least 2!
I had hoped that LEGO will make this set when I saw it in LEGO Ideas. I hope I get the chance to buy it! It's cute!
This is so much a must buy, at least as much as the Ghostbusters set was.
I'll take two!
Someone will motorize it for sure!
@Matthew - I think you may be right!
Wow!!!I love it!
Wow. I'm surprised at all the enthusiasm for this. I feel obligated to say, "Yawn..." I will say it is a very accurate rendition of the source material, however. It's just that the source material was boring to me. I fell asleep during the opening sequence when I saw it in the theater. I thought the Eva character was far more interesting. Wall-E may as well have been called Wimp-E...
Sold !!!
I have not seen a single complaint about this set! I like set, it's so adorable just like the R2-D2 set on a smaller scale. On Smyths it says £39.99 RRP and I'm happy with that. Hopefully it has some play features. The comparison between the movie and this is very similar besides the LEGO one not being rusty and dirty. I still have not seen the movie, I defiantly will try and grab the Blu-Ray or something. It seems wrong to get it and not watch or own the film :)
Day one insta-buy for me too! They gonna run out fast with this one!
I have JUST ONE quibble... he looks too clean! WALL-E is frequently covered in dirt, squashed, and roasted with rocket exhaust over the course of the film. But otherwise, he looks FABULOUS! :O Maybe even better than the Exo-Suit, which is far and away my favorite set in my collection.
And to all those who haven't seen the movie, you really should. Excellent movie.
Hello everyone,
It is noted that after the criticism to set TBBT, designers have had to get another set in front to calm the fans, the first impression is very good, a simple set, direct, without accessories.
The colors seem appropriate,
The proportion of the set I also seem appropriate,
It seems that if the designers have improved the initial design.
Will soon notice a good job in the design of the box, only to see the box makes you want to buy the set.
Hopefully this is a set of quality without stickers (To buy a toy with stickers to buy me an egg that Kinder Surprise)
I hope that this time to slightly improve TBBT set to add some white forks and spiral hoses ....
greetings,
Looks like LEGO didn't have to do much work for this Ideas project.
Anyway, I think it looks amazing and foresee it selling really well. It'll hopefully get my purchase, too.
Any guess as to whether his internal trash compactor space will open? I don't see any hinges . . . but they might be hidden?
It's so adorable!! I must have it!!!! :P
I MUST BUY!!! WILL BUY!!! Why isn't it out yet.
I just hope the WALL-E logo aren't stickers.
Yeah this is a must have day 1 purchase. I hope Lego understands the potential Disney Juggernaut with this one and does a big enough production run.
No doubt I will buy this. I love the design using Angus MacLane's updated eye design, the whole thing looks so close to his design. The render and box art look good too. The only thing that bothers me is that Ideas thunder was stolen, as the first look / reveal should be on Ideas.
I love it, perfect model!
Want. Want. Want. :)
The hands and the head are too big......I wish they had gone for a more accurate approach rather than going for the "cute" approach. Oh well, money saved I guess.
Shame we keep getting good images of new sets. It only makes me want them even more.
Instant buy. :)
In case anyone is interested, the image has gone from Smyths website now but the Euro price has been amended to €49,99...
What piece is the eye?
I think this looks fantastic. A definite must have for me!
A good movie needs a good lego set version.
Here you go.
