Brickset and JANGBRiCKS announce an exciting partnership
Posted by Huw,
Brickset, the premier LEGO set database, and JANGBRiCKS, the leading producer of video reviews of LEGO products on YouTube, today announced a partnership that will introduce new audiences to both resources and benefit the entire LEGO community.
From now on Brickset will be embedding JANGBRiCKS video reviews into its set reviews, enabling readers to quickly and easily gain multiple perspectives on the set being reviewed. Meanwhile, JANGBRiCKS will be using Brickset as its primary source of set information, which will be displayed during video reviews.
"Brickset is my favorite source for LEGO set info and news and the first place I go to research products for all of my LEGO reviews" said Bamidele 'JANG' Shangobunmi. "I also use Brickset's collection management features to track upcoming releases as well as the over 1,000 sets I have reviewed in the past. I'm more than happy to be able to use Brickset data directly in my videos and to help introduce this fantastic resource to my viewers."
“JANGBRiCKS has a huge following on YouTube so I'm pleased that Brickset will feature prominently in his videos" said Huw Millington, Brickset.com’s operator. “Augmenting our written reviews with JANGBRiCKS’ videos will allow our viewers to experience the best of both worlds on a single website.”
This partnership will provide LEGO fans with an integrated experience across several media platforms. It will also allow us to pool our knowledge and resources to publish the best LEGO coverage possible for the diverse audiences of both Brickset and JANGBRiCKS.

Great news! I always check if Jang reviewed a set on Brickset/External reviews. Now it's going to be even easier! :)
This is a good to hear and a perfect way connect the two audiences. Thumbs up
The recent bionicle post was the first time i saw the video reviews and i must say i love the way he does it. The speed build, the functions description and the opinion is all done brilliantly.
Excellent news! Jang has long been my go to source for the best Lego reviews.
Excellent news! My two most visited LEGO sites, apart from LEGO.com, of course. :-)
That is great news! I love Jang's videos - always excellently made.
Wow, what a great achievement for the website this is.
Congratulations to both! It'll be a great response to the survey answers also.
Looking forward to the embedded reviews..
This is a perfect partnership - two humble and passionate AFOLs who have been producing fantastic content for a long time and earnt well-deserved respect for it.
Excellent, Jang's videos are my favorite LEGO video reviews!
Great news!
Perfect combo!
Yes! My favorite reviewer + my favorite lego news site, awesome!
i love how Huw cited himself in the article :P Anyway, great news, whatching Jangbricks video is the first thing i do when i came home from work every day, great way to relax :)
@nicola80: I was thinking exactly the same about Huw citing himself. :P
Altough it's nothing different from other "press releases", it just sounds weird, knowing that Huw probably wrote it himself ;)
Ever since coming out of my lego dark ages, jang bricks and brickset are the two best and most useful sources for lego I have ever found. I'm completely cool with them joining forces.
Great news watch jang every morning :)
Awesome news! I follow Jang everyday!
Congrats to the JANG and the Brickset team, Good luck!
Excellent news! :)
Superb, Jang rules on Lego reviews.. This can only be good news. Great collaboration!! Can't wait for this.
Awesome! I was just thinking about this the other day...Which led to nearly an hour of watching JangBrick's reviews. Oops.
Usually Brickset's reviews don't come until after JangBrick's, but would it be possible for him to add an annotation to videos reviews of sets that are reviewed here that links to Brickset's written reviews? One thing I like about Brickset's reviews that you don't see so much in JnagBrick's is a bit more emphasis on how the set is built. Whereas JangBrick's focus mostly on the completed model.
Either way, great news for both groups!
Great addition! Loving JANG's videos!
This is some great news! Love to watch Jangbricks's reviews :)
Clever. I don't watch JANG, but if it works, it works.
Well my friend, that really is an exciting partnership!
Echo others here - excellent news, great partnership!
Surprising
Great idea! I like Jang's upbeat reviews, but I often forget to visit his YouTube channel. So having the links right here on my favourite Lego site will be a bonus for me.
Great! Jang does the best reviews. They never miss anything, are very well shot and edited, and above all, don't ramble! I don't think this partnership will change anything for me, as I'm already an avid viewer, but I'm excited.
Great news!!!
I like some of Jang's videos, definitely not all of them. For example his haul package openings are quite boring in my oppinion. His reviews are fine but somehow... laical? Compared with very high standards here on Brickset. I do very much prefer i.e. Sariel's reviews, eventhought these lacks spoken commentary. In general, I think what repells me most on Jang is the essence of showing off in his style. Like "waaa, look how many bricks did I just got, waaaaa" :D
@krisandkris - I don't think the intention of a haul video is to show off at all. The viewing figures suggest that the general public wants to see that kind of video, hence many YouTube members choose to post them.
Jang does excellent reviews and this is great news indeed. I'm left wondering how it will translate into the videos now.
JANG is by far the best LEGO reviewer out there, except perhaps for CapnRex. His reviews are coherent, insightful and well produced with a genuine feel to them. Kudos to the both of you!
Cool idea! The best Lego news site + the best Lego video reviewer= great idea!
I've heard of Jangbricks, but never watched the review. I tend to look at LEGO websites at work, so I don't have sound on. I prefer to read things anyway, unless I absolutely need a 3-D view of something.
Congratulations to both! I love Jang's video reviews.
Sounds like a great collaboration, although it would be better if JANGBRiCKS reviews could be incorporated or linked from the sets themselves. He has done so many reviews across many of the themes it would be great if all of that additional content could be captured here.
Like the idea, but not a fan of Jang...
This is awesome news!! Great colaboration. My 2 favorites together. 1 + 1 = much more than 2!
Fantastic news ! Excellent reviews, has helped me make many a decision (and spend lots more money !)
Jang high quality videos and bricksets high quality database are a brilliant match.
Love the idea of displaying the brickset data on youtube videos, whichever member came up with this idea originally is a clever sausage indeed!
Jang's attention to detail is incredible, and this is going to be a great addition to the site!
@CHerryGingham, they already are, in the ext. reviews tab at the bottom.
Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
Congrats to both of you! Jang is the best!
Love me some JANG! His reviews are by far the most watchable and interesting! Great combo!
So.. do you want us to read your reviews or watch these people, I'm confused...
^ Think of it like watching the evening news on TV and reading the newspaper! They aren't mutually exclusive of one another but complementary and fill different niches for people's varying informational needs!
Excellent News!
Great news. New to Lego collecting and Brickset and Jangbricks are the first place I go to check out sets before I purchase them. Keep up the good work and congratulations on this new partnership
Awesome, great partnership. Thanks !!
Good onya blokes, I'm stoked for all of us.
@CaptainRex Not that I'd think it's Jangs purpose or main intention to show off (in a negative way), but still isn't it what threse videos are about? Showing off his BL purchases? Of course, any youtuber who want's to be comercially succesful has to reflect the demand and I really don't blame him for doing any type of videos. It's just about that I don't think his approach really fits together with Brickset style.
