What time is it? E3 time!
Posted by TheBrickPal,
The hype surrounding the second year of LEGO Dimensions is already absolutely gargantuan!
The reveal of the announcement trailer last week stirred up even more excitement, and has caused the community to grow anxious for promised further reveals at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3); the annual video game event taking place in Los Angeles, California. Well, worry no longer as E3 begins tomorrow and ends on Thursday the 16th of June! Preparations began today and we have some photos to show you of WB Games' setup and promotional materials for it.
We will keep you updated throughout the week with any news, so keep checking this article...
June 9-13, 2016: Lead-up to E3
First off, leading up to the event ever since the trailer surfaced on the 9th: the official LEGO Dimensions social media accounts have been sharing promo art for all the new characters from the brand new franchises scheduled to appear.
June 13, 2016: E3 preview
Onto E3 itself. A hallway with banners advertising where WB is doing their demo showcase and presentation:
The whole demo area:
What time is it? Adventure Time! - I mean, physical minifigure and vehicle time:
Outside the WB Games livestream from earlier:
Gameplay of a Battle Arena 'capture the flag' game in the livestream! An interesting piece of information: the producers report that there will be twenty new IPs rather than the sixteen previously mentioned. I wonder what secrets they could still be keeping from us?
Gizmo and Stripe (71256 Gremlins Team Pack) were in the livestream too, as well as others!
June 14, 2016: E3 day one
Gameplay of 71242 New Ghostbusters Story Pack in a Twitch livestream... Gizmo is confirmed to have his pink Barbie car as a vehicle!
The 71342 Green Arrow polybag is being given away in a top-secret area, apparently, but reports come from the LEGO Dimensions Twitter account that attending this event won't be the only way to obtain one. I guess we'll have to wait and see!
June 15, 2016: E3 day two
June 16, 2016: E3 day three
The final day! The social media accounts have finally put up promo art for J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World...
Also, it has been confirmed via another livestream on GameSpot that there will be a Marceline the Vampire Queen Fun Pack (from Adventure Time), and that The Powerpuff Girls content will be based on the recent reboot instead of the 90s show.
So there you have it! Glad you could join us all this week for your LEGO Dimensions E3 2016 news.

I absolutely cannot wait for the Adventure Time and Harry Potter packs!
I can't wait to get the Harry Potter, ET, and Mission Impossible packs!
Can't wait for TTG, Mission Impossible, and Mr. T! E.T. also!!!!!
I have no desire to play this game, I'm more of a Halo, COD, GTA guy. But, I'm going to have to get some of these 80's packs. Gremlins, BA, Sloth, and ET! WOW!!
Now, if they finally make a Star Wars game for this, I may bite!!
SLOTH!!!! I would pay GOOD money, like 60132 Service Station or 60080 Spaceport level money if LEGO came out with some Goonies sets.
The gremlins are perfect. I like the Sloth fig, too although I never saw any of these movies.
Are these just nothing more the non-blind pack CMF? I just dont get the drooling after desire of these things.
I believe the desire for these things stems from three fronts, one, the huge influx of new and never believed IPs which feature mostly unique and fun looking characters as Minifigures for anybody's collection. Two, the all encompassing fun that is LEGO Dimensions the video game and the brilliant use of Non-Licensed and Licensed Themes mashed up together to interact in fun and exciting ways. And three, the massive appeal of the nostalgia many of the AFOLs feel towards the IPs in question which fuels the drive to collect them all and enjoy. Display or Play these things are brilliant, in-spite of the price.
It really cheeses me off that the original Ecto-1 mini model only has the two front tires, but the reboot gets all four. I mean seriously, they couldn't include four rolling tires so we could take it off the base and have fun with it the same way as the DeLorean or other wheeled mini-model build vehicles?
Who is the voice for that announcer, the one mentioning the in-game stuff as to what's happening. It's hard to hear over the dialogue between the two guys, but it sounds oddly familiar for some reason and I can't put my finger on why that is.
@ryjay: Well, there's a game attached too, for people who care about that. And those people are really who the LEGO Dimensions packs are aimed at.
I missed the lifestream, where can I find it?
@rvjay, These are much more than just CMF, you get the figure, a vehicle or gadget to build and also get to play as that figure in the game, many times they will also unlock more content in the game or bring different abilities to tackle different challenges in the game which is the main reason for buying these packs.
Personally I love dimensions and will be buying all packs but understand that it doesn't appeal to everybody, it's a case of each to their own.
Hopefully LEGO will reveal all of the packs tomorrow.
Gizmo and Stripe look perfect! It's hard to tell from the angle but the Gremlin appears to have the Satyr leg molds.
Gremlins look amazing
Lego dimensions time, c'mon grab your friends.....
Doctor Who, portal, adventure time; the case for getting this grows everyday, Shame about the starter set's ridiculous price tag
Me reading this: "Omigod, Goonies! OMIGOD, HARRY POTTER!!"
Cat: "prrrrrp?"
@jake0324 North Crater
Sonic. SONIC!
Wow, gizmo and the gremlin look amazing.
I never have played Dimensions and maybe I never will; however, I am simply awestruck at everything they are managing to do with it.
Adventure Time is practically made for LEGO. I'm SO picking up that pack!
Article updated with more!
Thanks for the Twitch stream link. Some interesting, albeit minimal new gameplay in there with a new keystone and a couple of abilities by the looks of it in-game. Certainly when you listen to the way the guys from TT talk about their games and IPs, it would suggest that Dimensions might be the future for most Lego games, rather than separate ones tagged on twice each year. Not sure how Marvel will feel about being in the same game as DC though so that may not happen. Indeed, Dimensions is somewhat of a bastion of every studio that 'isn't' Disney at the moment (Warner, 20th C Fox, Universal) so perhaps the licensors will want to keep the Juggernaut at bay.
As a side note, Jake is definitely very stretchy in-game and Stripe does indeed seem to have leprechaun legs from the CMFs.
When are they going to reveal the packs? (i.e. If Lego city undercover is coming in a fun pack or story pack) And I want to see the knight rider pack!
Wait, where's Sonic?
All I really care about is the A-team theme, we have BA, but I want to see the rest of the team
Green Arrow is showing up on ebay
^ I really hate how Lego gives these exclusives out for free to the people that attend and they turn around and throw them on EBay.
Hopefully Lego will appreciate their other customers that can't attend cons and offer their exclusives at Lego Shop.
I really like all of these news Dimension sets and plan on getting them all. Never thought I would see all these great 80s characters made into Lego figures :)
Raven looks great, but I am aiming for MR-T!!!!
@Qwonos. I don't want to start an argument or anything, but I'm glad people post these exclusives up on ebay (or Bricklink). I don't attend these types of conventions any more and I still want the exclusive items. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to buy these event exclusives.
I want the poly pack!
I find the Adventure Time minifigures just as disturbing and repulsive as the characters in the TV show.
I heard that The Lego Batman Movie and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will be story packs, akin to Ghostbusters 2016.
@quiddity. Understood.
Just trying to point out that Lego should offer their exclusives to everyone. They should give them out for free in a exclusive packaging to people that attend the event, and offer everyone else that can't attend a chance to get the exclusive in some sort of Lego Shop promotion.
Updated again with both a new video from LD's YouTube channel and a recording of the IGN livestream.
Huzzah! A four player mode has come.
In a GameSpot live stream, Arthur Parsons stated Marceline (did I spell it right?) from Adventure Time will be in a fun pack!
Interesting that the guys from TT just said you could play as all the female Ghostbusters and play as all the Goonkes. Does this mean BA Baracus unlocks Face, Hannibal and Murdock?
^ No, I don't think so, considering that all these features are level pack or story pack exclusive (so far), (eg: ghostbusters, doctor who, goonies, ghostbusters reboot) but that is just my opinion. Otherwise the fun pack characters are too overpowered and people don't need to buy at least all of the level packs to get all of the abilities, which LEGO does not want. LEGO wants them to buy all the packs, not skip out on the level packs, because the fun pack has more abilities and is cheaper.
