A hitherto unknown Christmas seasonal set 40206 Santa Claus has been found in a Hungarian store catalogue by Papírbaba.

I can't make my mind up whether it looks more like Santa or a white-haired version of Scar...

Page 38 of the catalogue also provides a better picture of the other Christmas set 40205 Elves' Workshop.

I will be reviewing 40204 Pilgrim's Feast later today.

By in United Kingdom,

Glad Lego have tried something a bit different this year. The brick build animals are ok, but these brick built 'people' are just a bit wrong. Santa is the best of a bad bunch. Not for me.

By in France,

Well, I am not a big fan either of those brick built people. By the way, it reminds more of Sid from IceAge than Scar...

There's definitely something feline about him, isn't there!

By in Canada,

I dub this year the year of the creepy figures...this includes Rio mascots and Geoffrey.

By in Canada,

I wouldn't let my children go to this Santa! He's definitely up to something.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Much better! I wouldn't let my kids sit on his knee though!

By in United States,

He actually looks pretty good, compared to the other freaks. er, seasonal figures.

He actually looks jolly - I might go for this one!
His nose is a bit high and his arms are too weedy - I'd rather see them fixed than on those ugly little ball joints - particularly if LEGO can't even be bothered to make them in red for Santa of all people. But at least he's not as scary as the other exclusives.

By in Australia,

His hands remind me of Hanson in Scary Movie 2.

By in United States,

Again, if they left the eyes off, keeping it more abstract, these would have been much better. The eyes are what make it suddenly unsettling, as they are so more realistic than everything else. Uncanny Valley, it strikes again!

By in Australia,

Well. It's better than the others.

But still really, really unnerving.

By in United States,

I think this set confirms that the eyes need a space between them otherwise the sets loo creepy.

It doesn't look great, but at least it's not creepy.

By in Portugal,

Hi. Is this set like 40139 and 40138 that are given away with a spend of $99 or more? Or we don't know it yet?

By in United States,

This looks rather cute. I like the moustache. But those hands....I wish there was a better choice for the hands.

By in Canada,

Very cute and silly. I don't collect the seasonal sets but I think this year's have generally been quite fun, and this one is no exception.

By in United States,

Sure is trendy to bash these seasonal sets this year.

2016 - the year Lego scared away all the children :P

Nah, this one's not too bad at all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

At least it doesn't scare me like the elves and some other seasonal sets this year. Love his mustache!

Love the use of flames as the mustache.

Love it! The use of feathers for his moustache is especially nice.

@ Dedgecko, 13:05 "Uncanny Valley" Thanks, mate! That's the thing I was getting at when I moaned about the constraction figures.

Meantime, because the Bishop of Myra here has such a massive comedy nose and big bushy 'tache, I'm far from creeped out by this model. In fact, lose the hat and change the colour of the boots to yellow and we have a tribute to Sir William Connolly!

This one's not too bad, actually.
