YESSSSS...
Hands down best Advent Calendar ever.
All four of the smallest sets look incredibly worth getting with great value!
That bounty hunter set looks too good to be true.
The bounty hunter set is great. Shame its missing Zuckuss
I agree with polyboy (all 7 times)
Compared to 2016, this year has been priced incredibly well. Even though the battle packs are now $15, they seem to have more pieces than years past.
THAT BOUNTY HUNTER BATTLEPACK WHAAAAT
All of these look great. Besides that ^ favs have to be the fighter tank (nostalgia) and the Rathtar escape. The freemaker set looks way better than the last one.
Also do I see TR8R???
WTF???!! Bosk is in the Battle pack?? He cost a lot on BL lol
The rest is just perfect!!! The tank is nice with a none-clone wars Ayla Segura.
And the ppp ratio for the rathar escape is also great, especially for a TFA set.
2017 has the best SW sets on contrary to the other years.
Thx Lego!!!!!!
One word: AWESOME!!!!
Thank you, Lego! Now I finally have a chance to afford Darth Vader.
Doesn't the quad jumper come with the stormtrooper from that polybag and thug from the book, whats new mini figure wise then
The Bounty Hunter set is what I am excited about! Advent Calendar looks good. I'm pumped because it has a BB-8 ... but there's no Kylo Ren ...
Why is Quarrie from Rebels in the free makers, the only interesting fig in an expensive set
M-oc hunter! Lol
Bounty Hunter pack seems the best here. I've been tempted by the advent calendar in previous years but this line-up seems a bit week. Seems to have a focus on rebels and that Lego show.
No Rebels Set?!? Very disappointing! Only two models and Sabine Wren in the advent calendar are from rebels. And that Sabine minifigure is still from season 2 and we are now in the middle of Season 3! I have hoped for a cheaper way to get Zeb than Bricklink. And now we get next to nothing of rebels :(((
At least the Bounty Hunters Battle Pack and the Darth Vader Transformation are very good. But we get also a price rise on the battle pack and 35 € for the Darth Vader Transformation is also a lot. :/
The only one I will get is the Republic Fighter Tank as I missed last one (hope it can seat two minifigures considering that it's smaller than last one). Interesting that we got Quarrie in this set. For May the Fourth I will get the two BP of RO and a few other sets.
So excited for June, just one thing is confusing me; is the Jedi Starfighter with hyperdrive booster ring not happening? I was really excited about that set!
As for the others, the bps look amazing. the bounty hunter speeder bike reminds me of the 2015 anakin's Starfighter for some reason, the quadjumper looks better than I could possibly have imagined, the Darth Vader transformation set looks pretty disappointing (to be honest it appears to be just last year's carbon freezing chamber with the emperor instead of boba fett and Darth Vader instead of han solo) the rathtar escape looks very disappointing, the freemaker sets look brilliant (the tracker 1 looks like a cross between the tie defender from 2010 and the rogue one tie striker), but in my opinion the best set by far is the republic fighter tank. The new clone gunner looks fantastic and the vehicle itself is great (don't fix what isn't broken, right!) But the highlight is the aayla secura minifigure. I'm so glad she has normal eyes rather than clone wars eyes. I don't usually get prequel sets unless I think they look cool and this set definitely fits the bill.
I really hope the Quadjumper has a feature where the whole thing blows up
Looks like the highlight of this wave is the Vader Transformation set, which I will definitely try to pick up!
^ Retail exclusive so it wasn't shown.
@cm4sci
Thanks for that!
Poor viewing on the bounty hunter "set"I think proves it false, not to mention the lack of a name on the box, and the fact that the peices
Quarie from rebels in the arrowhead set!
The Bounty Hunter Pack, First Order Pack, Quadjumper and Darth Vader Transformation are all must-buys for me. I'm kinda iffy on the Republic Fighter Tank.
The summer now seems a very far way away! I'll be interested to see how the Rathtar set works..
@General_Grievous I don't know what you mean by poor "viewing," but the bounty hunter battle pack is a set that's been confirmed for a while now. The box shown is just an early render using CGI and 4-LOM has an RA-7 head as a placeholder.
The quadjumper is mercifully small, so that will be a great way to get BB-8 in a cheaper set. Can't wait to get the tank for Aayla Secura and the clone trooper, assuming it's no more than $34.99. The FX-series medical droid looks great from this angle. Haven't watched The Freemaker Adventures recently, but the Arrowhead looks cool.
Now I feel like a jackass for buying the original First Order Battle Pack. The new set is definitely better.
Yesssss! I want all of these sets probably one of the most complete summer waves.
I just watched the scene with the Quadjumper again. It was on screen for about 2.5 s before it was blown up. Definitely an essential Star Wars spaceship ;-).
@deikoon
That's got to be the least screen time for a vehicle with a Lego set. But I don't have issues with obscure vehicles, as long as they look cool (and the quadjumper was probably the most original ship in tfa)
I wonder could they have done more in terms of a festive BB-8? Plenty to look forward to though.
Kudo's to Lego for making more obscure models like the quad jumper that may appeal more to hardcore collectors, but then they include all previously released minifigures. Where is the logic in that?
This wave gave us a cheap way to get the new Darth Vader and a Palpatine, 2 cheaper ways to get BB-8, a cheaper way to get season 2 Sabine, a cheaper way to get old Han Solo, a cheap way to get Bossk, Dengar, 4-LOM, and IG-88, and a (while not cheaper) much better battle pack for building a First Order army.
Props to the LEGO Group!
@magpie9
Because "hardcore collectors" probably didn't buy the children's book required to obtain that particular thug
TWO FIRST ORDER STORMTROOPERS WITH BATONS AND SHIELDS?
SIGN ME UP NOW!
These look amazing! Now I'm just waiting for official pics (not the leaks) of the SW CCBS sets (Stormtrooper commander and Scout Trooper w/ Speeder Bike). Were they at the Toy Fair?
The transport from the FO BP is an earlier design for the snowspeeder and is shown in the TFA art book. For the final design They basically turned it around so the back was the front !
Hey the Flamethrowers and Riot batons and shields means less stud-shooters!!!
:O
At a closer look I see that the structure in Rathtar's Escape is modular, either for multiple sets or something coming in the future.
These new riot shields are bound to end up in city police. Actually, riot control police officers would be the only time I would buy a police set for minifigures
Wow. Not a single interesting set. Bummer.
I'll definitely be getting the battle packs. I'm looking forward to the Bounty Hunter one especially. As for the other sets, I'm not all that keen as I tend to focus on the original trilogy and TFA. The Quadjumper would be more tempting had it been in the movie for more than a few seconds... that being said, I do own the T16 Skyhopper so never say never I guess.
Summer sets. Advent calender. WTF.
I look forward to the advent calendar each year but BB8 with a Santa hat is beyond lame. Dire lack of effort
New Minifigs!
-Quarrie
-M-OC Hunter Droid
-Major Brance
-Bala-Tik
-Guavian Death Gang Soldiers
Notes: A Quadjumper! Seriously.
that new fighter tank is going to look -tiny- if you stick it next to the old one =P
At last another chance to get Dengar & IG88 without the expense of the Executor which you can't get anymore and when you could it was still £350! Even better the Gauvian Death Squad.
@myscrnnm Oh, thats why the bounty hunter set looks odd compared to the others... Thanks for telling me this!
Bounty hunter set is neat, but I have to question why it's a battle pack; Aren't those intended to be purchased multiple times? Why would you need more than one of each bounty hunter?
@ Lucas Gondreau: More new Star Wars Buildable Figures pictures can be found on FBTB.com, or ToyArk.com, but here are the boxarts:

My favorite amongst these new sets is the Quadjumper. Sure, it's an odd choice for it's limited screentime, but it's a very unique, new and original concept. It has a very great playfeature also. You can push the grey knob at the bottom of the vehicle and some of the huge engines pop off. I think it simulates the explode. On the other hand, there are no new minifigs in that set.
^^^ This is not a battlepack, it's a pack of bounty hunters, ready for battle. :)
Interresting...IG88 and Flametrooper have standard blaster rifles.
The only things I wish were that some of the sets (BH pack, Rathtar escape...) were final renders, and that we saw the SW construction sets. Supposedly we're getting an OT Stormtrooper, FINALLY, and a Scout Trooper with a Technic Speeder-bike! The Bounty Hunter pack looks great so far, but I really hope we get Zuckuss too, I'd scrap the speeder-bike for him : / . Also, boss could do with some updated printing, dual-molded arms in olive-green would look PHENOMENAL! And.. does the Rathtar set look a little... off, to you guys?
The bounty hunter pack looks EPIC and I'm so glad I can finally get a IG-88 at a reasonable cost, but is it just me or does the box look makeshift from LDD?
Hmm. That fighter tank is just too small and squat, the Freemaker sets have interesting techniques but look very ugly, but I do quite like the battlepacks, advent calendar, and the Quadjumper. No idea WHY they made it, but it's a sweet model.
Diggin' that Bounty Hunter set, although too bad it doesn't come with Zuckuss instead of say IG-88.
Some sweet sets!
75167 Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack and 75183 Darth Vader Transformation are must buys for me
75184 Star Wars Advent Calendar will be bought closer to Christmas
Where is the 75532 Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike ?
Count me in as surprised and excited for the bounty hunter set. It's weird as a battle pack because it's all named characters but still a great set.
Where is the UCS Snowspeeder?!?!?!?
These all look amazing. If only I knew the price.
^
Prices are:
Both battle packs: $15
Vader Transformation: $25
Republic Tank: $25
Advent Calendar: $40
Quadjumper: $50
Rathtar Escape: $80
Not sure about the Freemaker sets though.
Wow. All these sets are awesome, especially the battle packs and Darth Vader's Transformation. I reaaally hope that the bounty hunter pack isn't phony :P
oh my wallet! But oh yes, so many of these smaller sets are just too good to be true. Can't wait for summer now.
Though I am noticing that the Rathtar Escape has Stud Shooters on some of the figures OO. I hope the final release of the rest of the mid to larger sets don't go that route, or at least include both types of blasters for those who do not like the stud shooters.
I'm liking the variety here and the fact that we 'finally' get a representation of the Rathtar scene from VII as that was such a memorable part of the film. Although I already had a Han and everyone has a Chewie, it's amazing to get 2 Guavian Death Gang members and Bala-Tik - I have a feeling he'll be back considering he didn't get killed by a Rathtar in VII. I like the mouths of the Rathtars so I'm hoping there are some cool play features with them. Perhaps there is a demo video somewhere.
Otherwise probably the big win for anyone even vaguely interested in the Prequel Teilogy is getting both a Phase II gunner AND non-Anime Aayla Secura for the first time! And who couldn't love the proper Riot Shield Stormtrooper kit?
I'm really looking forward to this wave and to give the Freemaker Adventures some credit, these new vehicles look 1000% better than the ugliness of the initial £50 ship. Now I've just got to try and finish the January wave!
@Anak Thanks. I actually found them after I commented, but not those exact pics; that Speeder bike box art is really clear! Thanks! But I wonder if they'll add it to the post.
Those are all really cool! I'm looking forward to the Republic Fighter Tank the most. I remember seeing the original and thinking it was such a cool looking set.
Yeah, I think we've got a pretty good wave on our hands, folks. The Quadjumper looks great, and it's particularly nice to see the more obscure/civilian vehicles of Star Wars as sets. Sure, you can MOC them, but you don't always have the time. Besides, at $50, it looks to be a pretty good value, too.
Looking at them, though, I think the "pleasant surprise" might be the Arrowhead. I didn't pay much attention to the Freemaker Adventures sets, but this one looks much better than the prior wave. It's probably just me, but it sort of gives off a bit of a Stargate/Lantean vibe. Oh, all these cool LEGO sets that I can't justify buying. :P Maybe I'll just grab the instructions and build it out of my own collection.
Wow. I can't remember a time there were so many great looking sets coming out that I wanted. Ep. 7 sets look especially awesome.
Dear LEGO,
MAKE CLOUD CITY SETS!
No more hover tanks!
Thanks!
P.S. That's the worst Advent Calendar ever.
gonna be one expensive year again.. i was hoping for a UCS but lack of it just makes UCS more desirable. Iconic scenes lego-ised is da best.
These are great, but I really must say; I feel like we're overdue for a new UCS set.
Hey I don't know if you heard but the NEW Speed Champion Sets are now available to buy on LEGO. They even made a post about it yesterday.
Not in the UK (shame)
Emperor Palatine and Darth Vader minifigures in 1 box at a reasonable price: yes please!
If I was cynical, I'd be thinking many of these sets have the purpose of reducing the value of minifigures on the secondary market.
The Battle Packs look great - this is the First Order pack we deserved the first time around and the bounty hunters are a solid choice. Might actually buy multiples for the FO. Nice to see Bossk again. The Rebel and Empire packs on the way even out my concern about pairing. Rebels are timeless. This is a great time for battle packs!
Quadjumper - Glad they made this, but not sure if it's a likely buy. It's not that I wouldn't turn it down, it's just that I get picky and don't often buy even the pricey sets I genuinely like.
Rathtar Escape - I love the effort they put into this set, especially the crawlspace and the Rathtars themselves, but for same reason as above, not a hugely likely buy. Wouldn't mind any of those minifigs though.
Fighter Tank - Could survive without most of it, but Aayla looks amazing and it's great to see a non-TCW version of her. We'll see if I ebay/bricklink her or just buy the whole thing on impulse due to it's reasonable cost.
Darth Vader Transformation - I could survive without this one as I have the minifigs, but the low price and very scene-specific build make me interested. I have a soft spot for these location-based sets. We'll see what happens.
Advent Calendar - These never stick around when I'm interested in them, so not a likely buy for me, not that it looks bad?
Freemakers - Like the show, glad I read the comments section here, somehow hadn't even noticed Quarrie's there!
(I keep thinking there should be more because the other sets are only just hitting the US, heh)
the second palpatine with a gold lightsaber hilt
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!! all sets are gr8 especially Darth Vader Transformation, i love it !!!
I'll pass them all.
I will BrickLink a lot of imperial officers and imperial ground crews from the advent calendar, and one Dengar from the battle pack
I'm liking the look of most sets, was does strike me as odd is the number of "surprises " on the cover of the advent calendar, I'm counting 14 of the 24 windows already shown on the box art.
I'll still buy it but the "suprise" factor is just not there.
Bossk !!! the small sets look great
When u finally get 4-LOM but not Zuckuss.
Need some pics of the build able figures i.e. the Stormtrooper, and the Biker Scout and speeder bike which looks like my favourite set of this new batch.
I can't wait for Darth Vader Transformation and the bounty hunter battle pack. It's so nice to see LEGO including important characters in inexpensive sets. First we got Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Darth maul; Luke, Obi-Wan and C-3PO; Yoda and R2-D2; Han Solo, Boba Fett, and Chewbacca; and now we get Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, and Damaged Anakin in what appears to be a $24.99 set. And it's just amazing to get four main bounty hunters in a $12.99 set.
Still no word of a UCS Millennium Falcon by the end of the year?
Tank, FO Battle Pack and the Quadjumper are bought on sight. I'm not a bounty hunter fan and the others look a bit 'meh'.
I can't wait to see what the phase II clone gunner looks like when placed next to the tcw phase I version from 2009 (and my first ever star wars set, the 2009 clone trooper bp. ah, memories!) From the angle in the bottom corner, his helmet reminds me of the front of an obscure super car called a "Gumpert Apollo" (a former top gear test track lap record holder - for a massive eight seasons!)
I couldn't post on this until today because my mind was totally blown by all the Lego news. Now that my brain has had time to recover here's my two cents (w/extra wording free of charge). The BP's look great, although now I regret paying 20.00 for that Dengar (if indeed it is the same version), however I'm glad I held off on paying 20.00 for IG-88. I wish we could get Zuckuss instead of Bossk or Dengar though, as another Dengar was also released in the Eclipse Fighter set, and Bossk has also been released before. Super excited to finally get 4-LOM though! The Quadjumper looks great, although a bit smaller than I expected. However, I suppose a $100.00 set based on a ship shown for 2.5 seconds wouldn't be justified. Of course now I also regret buying an expensive kids' book just to get the Unkar's Thug figure. The Rathtar Escape set looks.... messy. I dig that it has a modular design though and getting Bala-Tik and the Guavian Enforcers is awesome. They could have done something more imaginative for the Rathtar's mouths other than red 2x2 round plates though. The Republic Fighter Tank looks great even though it's a little smaller than the original version, which I really regret missing out on. Getting Aayla Secura is cool, although I prefer the more detailed 2010 Clone Turbo Tank version. Darth Vader's Transformation isn't an immediate must buy for me, but I'll pick it up eventually for the medical droids. Buying the Advent Calendar is an annual tradition and it has some nice figures; and although I had to look up who Major Brance was getting a unique and obscure character is always a plus. The BB-8 w/Santa hat is just lazy though, come on Lego you can do better than that! The Freemaker Series sets look pretty cool, I love any spaceship w/an interior so will definately have to buy The Arrowhead. In all another great wave that will no doubt break my wallet!
The one ship from the Freemaker series looks like a TIE Phantom.
@BrianG
They increased the prices AGAIN?
Grr......
70 Euro for the Quadjumper? For 457 pieces? For 2.5 seconds of screen time? That does not compute, not even in a galaxy far, far away ...
@Dalek135
If you mean the battle packs, then yes, they did. :(
Still, I'd pay $25 for the bounty hunter one.
I am liking the new shield element in First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack
I still do not get the reason behind the FO Battlepack. Where I live, the shelfs are still full with the old one.
But I like the new Republic Fighter Tank. It's scale is much better than the last one and it contains an Ayala Secura. The Phase II gunner looks nice, I hope we will see him again(unlike his older brother)
Zucksuss would have been much better choice than Dengar because Dengar has already been released recently in the eclipse fighter. Oh well, I guess it means people now have a cheaper option of getting him.
The lego Rathtars look terrible an unrecognisable, more like play than display features.
Though I LOVE the FO battlepack,Darth Vaders transformation chamber, the Quarrie an new inquisitor from the freemakers minifigs.
I may actually get the advent calender this year as it seems to have more content/ interesting minifigs an pieces. The quadjumper set seems just dumb an a expensive money grab with no new or exclusive figs an the ship is too small compared to the actual thing.
Finally the republic hovertank which I remember playing inSW battlefront 2 is awesome an Aayla is epic! However the tank could be bigger for the price to be the right scale. Lego are doing very well it seems in bringing out sets fans want by now listening too them.
Its a shame that theres just too many great sets an I have too little money to by them all. It would also be a good idea for most LSW to save their money until the potentially very interesting though defietly expensive Ep8 sets come out in December.
Oh & hi BrianG2402 its a strange coincidence that we that we meet here huh?
@gree42ndlegion
It wasn't actually shown how it looks next to people in the film as it got blown up before Rey and Finn got to it. Maybe in the last Jedi they'll show you exactly what size it is. Perhaps the set is actually larger than scale!
The fighter tank set looks good but Im not interested on getting it. Darth Vader transformation and First order battle pack look amazing and I am definitley going to get them. Honestly those sets are the only ones that appeal to me.
ps: WHERE IS THE JEDI STAR FIGHTER WITH THE HYPERDRIVE RING
Is it me or does Tracker 1 use the same wing design on each of it wings, using 6 of the same wedge plates, meaning you'll have 18 of the right version and none of the left?
