More 2015 images
Posted by Huw,
Thanks to the same German website, we now have a complete set of images for 2015 City, Friends, Pirates (Treasure Island added) and Ninjago (Jay's Electromech added).
All that's missing now are Mixels, a couple of Elves and a few others.

I still think it's a pitty, that the Pirates have their ship and the Soldier's don't. I'm waiting for a new 6274 Caribbean Clipper,
And some bigger sets won't do any harm.
Time for a new line of: 6276 Eldorado Fortress, 6277 Imperial Trading Post and 6273 Rock Island Refuge.
The friends sets mostly look like reruns... Which is a good thing for my bank account, so I don't mind. The only set we MUST have is that balloon!
^ My bank account too! I am actually disappointed in my first Friends sets... Well, we almost didn't buy Rehearsal Stage (41004), but ended up getting it and eating crow because it's a great set. But 41087, 41088, and 41089 are all pretty lame looking. They do look like pieces of larger sets that have been released in past years. What is neat about them is that they are great scene completers for a display, and they look like they should be relatively inexpensive. I can't wait to see if the price will trick me into buying them.
Also, 41087 seems to have kits, baby rabbits, so that's pretty neat. I wish that the animals would be more unique in the other sets. Another dark brown horse? Yawn at that.
Mia's Sports Car is pretty nice. I would have loved to see more of the service station, but the fuel pump and tool cart are nice additions. The ice cream scoop as soapy bubbles and the feather as a moving-in-the-air rag are great uses of the pieces. I have to chuckle at her "I love animals" bumper sticker since this is the first, or one of the few, Friends cars to not include an animal.
I REALLY hope you guys are wrong about the ninjago prices, because those look pretty good.
30 dollars for Jay's Electromech!? It's hardly any bigger than Kai's Fire Mech and its twice the price. But, being the sucker for the Jay sets that I am, I'll be one of the first to pick one up. :P
I like the Treasure Island! The brick-built skull looks great, and I'm very pleased about the return of the Fortune Teller's hair (it was practically predicted by the Skull Island MOC posted a few weeks ago). Jay's Electromech is disappointing.
AND we get an updated gator/croc mould!
On the German website, I have also noticed the new 32x32 brick yellow base plate, 10699 ( http://www.spielwaren-bludau.de/shop/index.php?pn=Sandfarbene+Grundplatte&pid=da0feedb3298e39ee2c0ccac9086a707&cid=994b3ea515ef774bb6d7192e29676335&so= ).
I see a new mold for pirate hatscarfs and a new/updated crocodile mold!
...and a new mold for motorbikes!
@yap, the base plate isn't yellow but "Sandfarbene", as in light brown sand color.
Good spot, @yap, I'll add it, and the other Classic images to the database.
There is no way those prices in USD for the Ninjago sets are accurate. If that's what LEGO sets for them, they won't sell at all. Some of them are double what they were for a similar part count in the previous wave.
City continues to impress. I don't know how I'm going to convince the wife to let me get all those sets when our City is locked away at the in-laws!
I like the Pirate sets, but have they stopped using those old-school raised base plates that had a ramp and pit? I have several older sets that use those, but haven't seen any recently that used those, all the sets seemed to just have flat base plates.
I think they discontinued those a long time ago! Probably hindered imagination...or were too costly to produce?
I looked them add a kid, but now I can make it look more realistic with bricks.
Besides a couple of the sets there is not really a lot "OH MY I NEED THAT". I will say that the snow plow is a must and would love to get a few of just the balloon tops from the friend's sets. Regarding pirates. I bought to many of them the last time they were out I have to many pirates. Not going to be buying any of them this time around until they go on discount.
Not many set images missing now is there? Personally I am still eager to see the images for the remaining 3 Chima sets, 70225, 70226 and 70227 (not the unreleased Speedorz). Slightly off topic, but the three sets whose numbers I just listed are nameless, but they do have names (70225 is Cragger's Croc-Copter, 70226 is Mammoth Ice Base and 70227 is Bladvic's Bear Mech). Saw it on Eurobricks by the way: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99477&st=25 (2nd post down). Oh, and Globert the Mixel's name is spelt wrong in the database ;-)
When was the last time we had over 90% of the winter wave's set images by early November? All it's done is making me think that I need to save an awful lot for next year. Hard when there's a ton of different things all competing for my money! :-)
Oh, and out of the new image reveals, I really like the look of the dragon Creator set most of all. The rest is kinda meh to me.
@Shield-And-Sword Bricks - Jay's Electromech is about twice the size of Kai's Fire Mech.
@Peter1975 - "Brick Yellow" is TLG's name for that (tan) colour.
^^ Thanks, I've added them. I wonder why images of those three in particular haven't appeared anywhere yet?
I'm hoping the Mixels and the Agents 4x4 Patrol pop up soon. Those are really the only ones I want to see by now.
I have a feeling that the apparent success of the seriously overpriced "Lonely Mountain" set (which is already on backorder at US LEGO.com) means TLG will decide that people don't care about price-per-piece if there's something really desireable included. Not sure that Ninjago has anything as desireable as the Smaug figure, but we may be on the verge of finding out...unless the Ninjago prices get a major readjustment before they go on sale.
On the other hand, a set each of the very nice Creator buildings plus a few specialized pieces off BrickLink, and I can build myself a much less expensive Snake Temple. Take *that*, capitalist corporate...capitalists.
@Huw I honestly have no idea why they haven't to be honest, though what many people have guessed is because they are going to be retail exclusives? Remember the Lavertus and Spinlyn sets last year? Assuming their reveal pattern happens again this year, we probably won't get images of those 2015 Chima sets until a few days before Christmas I reckon, when they're loaded onto LEGO's servers. Unless someone pulls some strings and does something extraordinary of course! :-)
There is a very good reason why we haven't seen the official Mixels pics yet though: Their release date isn't January, it's February. Or so I've heard. The other missing pics probably have no excuse now if I'm honest...
Off topic: I do wonder what has happened to those Speedorz sets this year though. without them, my Speedorz card collection will have some enormous gaps... but I understand if they've been cancelled of course.
Sorry, couldn't help but laugh at 60088 "Fire Starter Set"... for all those future Lego pyros! In fact, I'm pretty sure the man in blue's hat is on fire in the picture!
In those 'classic' sets, I'm seeing two new print variations of this piece:
http://brickset.com/parts/6029156
@GregoryBrick- Maybe, but the piece count looks almost the same.
Anyone know German? I'm curious to the NinjaGo prices because Brickset's guess of prices are hugely off.
I like the Friends, I'm sad that the $10 for 100+ piece sets are a thing of the past, I'll be stocking up on this year's. I like the swamp police, at least it's a little different. Pirates are almost an exact redo with a higher price and no fun baseplates.
The ones I really like out of this bunch are the Electro-Mech (although it is somewhat lacking in the weapons area) and the City Bulldozer, Race Bike Transport, and Police Hovercraft Chase. Nice to see the hard hat with ponytail used again. And how could anyone not love those new motorbikes?
Treasure Island is only slightly less of a failure than the other Pirates sets. Come on, they make a crappy palm tree as a switch and make it an EVEN WORSE SWITCH than tree! Geez, you just push it on a balljoint? Oh well, it has an alligator and it's cheap...
There's so much wrong with the Pirates sets. I liked the old crocodiles and palm trees but both have been ruined. Including a cannon in every single set is grossly excessive. However, the most infuriating feature is the use of the ugly stud gun as some kind of small cannon.
Brickset's Ninjago prices are definitely wrong, and to be honest I'd like to know where they came from. If they're just converted from the first NZD prices we got then it's no wonder they're wrong, because Australia, New Zealand, and Scandinavia have some of the most outrageously high LEGO prices in the world while the United States has the lowest LEGO prices in the world.
I don't know Matthew got the prices from but I would agree they look a bit out. They'll be corrected automatically once they go on sale at LEGO.com.
Hmm. I see something suspicious that I am sure someone else has already pointed out.
Ninjago 2015 set 70752 (Jungle Trap)
unreleased Chima 2014 set 70153 (Fang Trap)
Ninjago 2015 70753 (Lava Falls)
unreleased Chima 2014 set 70152 (Lava Breakout)
The numbers are similar but inverted, sure. The names are mighty similar. The numbering inconsistency on the cards in the Speedorz would not have been filled by these two sets (unless they both would have been double Speedorz sets which seems unlikely to me).
city sets are too americanized in my opinion, pretty obvious that the designer of these sets lives in southern USA. there're no pickup trucks in europe and and no swamps...
the snowplough is the only one looking european.
the colour scheme for 60084 is a very bad choice for european market city sets ( use yellow!, not white!) Black red white is like the corporate design of fascists in europe. guess why so many countries try to avoid these colour combination in their flags. this mistake was never done before by lego. so why now?
just change the 4 white plates on the side to yellow or gold (bike rims) and you're fine for european markets
Great! Thanks for adding these, Huw. But two of the City sets were in the City 2015 video that Just2Good posted a while back. Why didn't you add them before?
Huw, you haven't added the Mixels images, although they have surfed on Eurobricks. Here's the link:
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98063&st=50
Scroll down the page and you'll find a post with two links by 8BrickMario. Hope this helps. :-)
Saying that the swamp police are "too American" seems kind of like saying that Castle is "too European"--it's kind of the point. They chose a theme or subtheme based on something specific (in this case, a swamp similar to those in places like Florida and Louisiana) and designed sets based on the location. It's not as universal as many would like, but Lego has done lots of universal/European police sets in the past. If we're destined to get police every year, a bit of a change every now and then seems like a good thing.
I wish Lego want to skip Police and Fire sets just for one year. Give us a post office, a few shops, gas station!
Agree with you @Riaan.
Still no 70756 Dojo Showdown in the database, with or without images. What's with that? Sometimes it feels like Brickset is biased against Ninjago just because it's aimed at kids. City on the other hand is instantly added even with its "Modular Building" and big pieces.
All LEGO themes are theoretically aimed at kids. Don't hate on one theme just cause it has a storyline.
We demand a Soldiers Ship! When do we want it? Now! :)
Does anyone know when the images for the Marvel sets will appear?
^Not until March for the Avergers 2 ones, but as for the others if we have some, December, though none are shown yet for 2015 at all.
