Just bought the Pet Shop with 5% discount. Unfortunately, the Town Hall is still sold out... The 15% off on those sets are not available in Portugal, at least not for the moment!

No 5% discount or 15% off specials available to Australia. Another big "thankyou" to all the Australian LEGO supporters from TLG...

Individual item pages show double VIP in the US store. But your cart shows regular VIP. Only a few more hours to figure out what is happening.

For any Aussies out there; after placing my order, I sent customer service an email saying that whilst I was excited to qualify for the free skating scene set, I was disappointed that I wasn't given the 5% discount that European customers are entitled to as part of the early access to the Brick Friday promotions, and I have just received the following response...

"Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I am sorry to hear that you did not get your 5% discount off your order. It should of applied for orders in Australia and I have talked to my Billing department and set up a refund for the mistake that the 5% was not applied. I am sorry if this has caused any confusion or frustration but for now keep a look out for money returning to the original card used in the order.

You should the money return back to your card in 3 - 5 business days but it depends on your bank."

It doesn't look like they've fixed the LEGO.com website to automatically apply the discount, and so far, it hasn't shown up on my order status (maybe it won't, and will just be refunded back, once my order ships and my card is charged) , but at least it sounds like they're willing and able to apply the discount after the fact, if you get in touch with them and politely ask for it.

The US site so far just says that VIPs get free exclusive, free shipping, and 2x VIP points. I hope that's not all, cause if it is then TLG just left a massive dump on our faces. Keeping my fingers crossed for something better, otherwise very VERY disappointing.

Update: It actually seems that that's all there is...and NO %15 sale on selected items. So what exactly was the point of today? If VIPs get crumbs what will regular customers get?

I wouldn't compare it to "a massive dump" in the face, but it is a bit on the disappointing side. Double VIP points on it's own isn't a very competitive offer this time of year, especially when they do it for at least a whole month or two other times during the year.

@ytjedi Perhaps I allowed my emotions get the better of me :P

But it's like you said, we did get 2x point all through October and last year's Black Friday we got 3x VIP points. I feel like TLG could have been a bit more rewarding. It just seems that they made such a hoopla about the whole VIP early access just to get a few people into stores and have them buying things.
I don't know, I could just be overreacting :P

Double VIP is better than nothing, but I am disappointed at the lack of triple VIP like last year.

If this is all there is, then I will take my shopping to regular retailers. I'll get it quicker at lower prices. LEGO wins either way since they sold the lego to the retailer, but double points isn't much.

I bought an Arkham Asylum just after midnight here in Germany - reduced from €159.99 to just under €130. Plus part 2 of the freebie Christmas set.

Aww no discounts here in Canada, but I was going to buy something regardless as an excuse to get that skating scene!

In Polish shop there are not discounts on those sets. But the 5% discount and free Ice Skating sets are being added to shopping card correctly.

Just been to Meadowhall store for the early access and they had no Sopwith Camels so they had camper van with 15% off instead. Also got to see the Detective Agency in the flesh. It's a beauty. Crying out for a third floor adding above the detectives office! Also rumours that VIPs with early access would get the Christmas Train bauble were unfounded.

And double points are only in US.

When I heard about the advance offer, I had hoped to be able to order the detective agency, rather than just get an advance on one of these dozen sale sets. Nothing on sale particularly takes my fancy and most other sets can often be found cheaper elsewhere. Contemplating getting one of the more expensive star wars or creator exclusives but 5% off is not particularly enticing...

To bad no double VIP Points, but who cares, just waiting for the mailman right now...

5% off is poor but I've waited long enough for it!! Used 200 VIP points too so a respectable £227 for the set plus another 227 VIP points back in the pot with the second of the free Christmas sets.

Slightly better deal than the day one purchase for the crawler that I originally planned for :-)

To me this is just fair to some European countries this years. Last year there was the 3x VIP Points promo only for Canada and the US for ALL Lego sets! At least we get certain sets reduced with 15% off this year.

Is this likely to be the best ever discount on 10233 Horizon Express? I am tempted to get two to get the extra 5% off!

I almost stayed up til midnight last night to get some of the great deals. Too bad there aren't any. Good thing I didn't stay up.

Why would they even bother sending out an email to those of us in the US when there is really nothing special? Why get our hopes up? This is no better than some stores putting out sales circulars advertising their normal prices.

If this is all there is going to be on "Black Friday" next week then I see no reason to even bother trying to make it to the store.

Hopefully this is just a case of someone forgetting to turn on the actual sale.

I'm happy, nearly ordered Batman Arkham Asylum Breakout last month glad I didn't. With Discount and £10 worth of VIP points (doubled up last month) got it for £93, that's Christmas sorted for me and the wife.

I have just returned from a very busy Milton Keynes store with a 10241 Maersk Ship, 10937 Arkham Asylum and some Pick a Brick. They split the transaction for me so I could get 2 Winter Scenes but was pleasantly surprised when I unpacked my bags to find an an extra 40107 set! We had some problems with the till transaction (nothing like Toys R US though!) and she started again. I don't think she remembered putting the set in the bag and must have scanned another one!

Thats my set for the competition sorted and a set for my nephew.

I saw the 10246 Detective Office on display along with the new Slave 1. Both have an available date of January 1 2015. The DO looked a little small especially next to Slave 1, and I think there is scope for supersizing it! Better get saving up.

Yeah, this isn't much of a sale for the US, but it was perfect for me for the 2x points. They rarely put new items on sale anyway, so 2x points is a way to get 10% off all new items. Include the $10 value of that free winter set and it's essentially 20% off a $100 purchase.

I'm looking to buy Arkham Breakout online, it says out of stock shipment 9th dec, will I still get the free set? its in the basket.

In Czech republic we have 5% discount and free skating set but no discount on sets. Shame. I want to buy Horizont express so i wait if i can get the discount later. So today I will order only Palace cinema. Exclusive sets are about 15% more expensive then official prices here in Czech Republic so for me it is god deal anyway.

No 15% extra discount on certain sets in Sweden. Not ordering anything now.

@guntherfh - Agreed. Having no stores, and with higher prices (AND a recently increased free-shipping threshold), it would definitely be nice if we at least got some good deals online. I was very disappointed when I went on and the only offer that seemed available was the winter set. I certainly wouldn't mind 15% off the Opera House!

I didn't end up buying anything, because the SW Advent Calendar is Sold Out, and I'm hoping it will be available again by Friday.

Anyway, it looks like we're supposed to receive the discount, according to that reply that Nikaliptus got, so hopefully this is rectified by Friday.

The offer was really one day only. Put a set in my basket and it showed the discount and skating set (no problem in RoI). Added another set and arrived at the check out at 00:01 and both offers were gone...

Ugh, it's called early access. Implying the actual Black Friday will be more of the same...guess there's no future developments for the US folks...just 2x and no 15% :(

Wow, that was a fast disappearing discount. Did not check out yesterday evening, now without the -15% I will not check out at all, just not worth it for the iceskate present alone.

I was going to order this years winter set and some other bits to place an order, will just wait until this weekend, needs to work out a parts order anyway. Go Australia.
