By in Australia,

Are they going to do Redbull F1 as well?

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

I think it will be a success despite the stickers

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^ It's not that piece.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think it probably is...

By in Germany,

No WEC cars? No Toyota nor Audi? :'(

By in United States,

That surfboard piece is pretty clever usage. And the rod piece is indeed the 1x4 with the rod pointing down. What's telling you it isn't?

By in United States,

My first thought, unfortunately, was "look at all those stickers".

By in United States,

Hmm, okay. I think the only one I'll get will be the Orange McLaren. I like all the the new windscreens.

By in United States,

@ 8BrickMario.
I think it's a snowboard, not a surfboard. :P

@ Part discussion.
I just built the front of the car, and it's the same piece. Nice to see it's the same piece after all this time. :)

You know, I'm still pretty new and maybe just haven't experienced enough yet but what's with all the hate towards stickers? Yeah, they're a little annoying but they're not that bad. I will definitely be picking up at least the McLarren and Finish Line sets when this comes out.

As a car guy, I couldn't be more excited for these sets. Look at all those new space parts! It's a very exciting time.

@ ClearlySane.
Well, stickers ruin the reusability of the parts they are on. For example, you can't use an Exo-Force part with Japanese writing on it on a fish model, can you?
Stickers have also been known to fall apart after time, and it's truly horrible when that happens.
Stickers Over Multiple Pieces (SOMP) is also a very bad idea, because those parts are forever stuck together, and the stickers usually don't stay right.
And there's also the challenge of applying stickers over large or curved parts.

Sorry if this sounds kind of hate-ey :P I just don't like stickers :P

I'm getting more and more anxious for these sets. Can't wait.

@ClearlySane88: most people don't like stickers because they degrade and get scratched/torn over time, can be hard to put on straight especially for some curved pieces, do not look as nice in some opinions, larger stickers can have unseemly air bubbles, clear stickers can trap dust and specks under them that look bad, and stickers can somtimes peel up on the edges over time. Personally, as a builder and collector of Lego I value a set more if there are no stickers in a set and only printed pieces. I'm kind of OCD about putting stickers on straight and centered on a piece, so it can irk me and really bother me if a sticker ends up crooked or shifted to one side.

The largest pet peeve is a sticker that is intended to span over more than one brick. Wow, that really bugs me since you can't disassemble it easily. An older Ferrai truck set was like this and I think a Mearsk train or ship did this IIRC.

But other than that stickers are fine. :P

By in Netherlands,

@SprinkleOtter: you say "stickers ruin the reusability of the parts they are on." True, but at least stickers offer you a choice wether or not to apply them; printed parts don't.

Still, I prefer printed parts too...

PORSCHE PORSCHE PORSCHE!! Really excited to see TLG doing these sets, especially a certain German sports car.

Stickers, bah I don't plan on using these parts for anything else. I like the detail they bring to the sets.

Wow, I'm getting really excited for these! I can upgrade the race cars in my raceway I'm building, it will look great!

By in United States,

I agree that you can always choose not to apply stickers; printed pieces are always restricted to particular uses. Having said that, stickers on tiles work for me--tiles are cheap and easily replaced. And stickers do provide detail that often enhances the set--plus I'm sure it's cheaper to print one sheet of stickers than a collection of miscellaneous pieces.

The stickers that peel and fade badly seem to come from one particular period--I've bought sets with much older stickers that were in perfect (and bright) condition. Also, many stickers can be carefully lifted and repositioned with no apparent ill-effects. So on the whole I don't object to them much, though I'm also pleased when things like the Detective Office's windows are printed.

Stickers make perfect sense to me with these sets, given the amount of sponsor detail they provide. If you don't like them, leave them off....

By in United Kingdom,

I like these cars! I normally plump for Star Wars sets but I reckon Vader would look good in the McLaren!

Regarding stickers, if it's a specialist piece/set and won't be used for anything else then I prefer printed parts but if the pieces have other uses I prefer stickers as I don't bother to apply them. What really bugs me is a set with a 2x1 tile that needs a sticker applying - why?! Apart from the F1 car, I reckon these sets will look good without stickers.

By in Germany,

Lovely pics! Already pretty excited for these. That P1 looks better and better and...

Hope the line is a success and we'll get more brands. Aston Martin.. Mmmhhh....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those windshield are really super! They would look great on any type of jet or vehicle.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Didn't Megablocks have the F1 licence ? I got a McLaren F1 car from them a few years back....

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

These look great, I am planning to get the Porshe and the McLaren (the Orange).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, those make the cars look REALLY COOL... I'm sorely tempted.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I think they look great, though I still don't think the Ferraris look like Ferraris. They're just not wide and flat enough. The P1 is a great colour though, and the twin Porsches are fantastic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definitely getting all of there and I really hope they make more, F1 and LEGOS are a great match.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Megabloks had the license to the Need For Speed series (before the film came out) and had Porsches, Mclarens, Fords, Nissans and Audis in their selection.

If I had the skills I would do a Fast And Furious range (minifigure scale) or even slighter bigger and with customisable options :)

By in Italy,

these sets are amazing for parts pack, and for the stickers discussion, i'm totally for stickers, i don't apply them if they are not crucial to the good looking of the finished model, and only if i have already a lot of the same parts without stickers. With printed pieces i always end up needing that exact piece but without decoration and i hate it. :)

By in Indonesia,

One of the best LEGO theme in 2015! Nice job LEGO

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Porsche in the last picture looks awesome, but nothing like the real thing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Shouldn't Speed Champions be a subtheme of Racers...?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Can we use the porsche windscreens to finally replace the minifig scale snowspeeder canopy??!!

By in United States,

Stickers are ok but they FALL APART after a few years. I have the old Fokker and Sopwith Camel models and every sticker on them (and there are more than a few!) is peeling off, and if you try to push them back on they disintegrate into tiny pieces that oddly come off the model but stick to your fingers and are quite difficult to remove! Both my Ferrari Enzos (regular and FXX) are also afflicted with this issue as is my otherwise beautiful Ferrari Transporter. BTW, these are display models behind glass and not in the sun, so I know it's the faulty stickers, they just don't last and that's the real issue. So I have stopped applying stickers waiting for the day that they are made of something that doesn't disintegrate!
