Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens set names

Posted by ,

It has been an exciting couple of days for news and that trend continues with the revealing of the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens set names. The piece counts, prices and brief summaries of what each set contained were announced in March but now we have the actual names courtesy of Hoth Bricks.

  • 75099 Rey's Speeder - 193 pieces - £19.99, €29.99, $19.99
  • 75100 First Order Snowspeeder - 444 pieces - £39.99, €54.99, $39.99
  • 75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter - 517 pieces - £59.99, €76.99, $69.99
  • 75102 Poe's X-wing Starfighter - 717 pieces - £69.99, €99.99, $79.99
  • 75103 First Order Transporter - 792 pieces - £79.99, €114.99, $89.99
  • 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle - 1004 pieces - £99.99, €129.99, $119.99
  • 75105 Millennium Falcon - 1332 pieces - £129.99, €164.99, $149.99

Further analysis after the break...

We have clearly seen all of those vehicles in the trailers except for the First Order Snowspeeder and First Order Transporter. We briefly glimpse a snowy planet occupied by the First Order in both trailers which is presumably where the vehicle will be used. I suspect this Snowspeeder will not be the same model as the modified T-47 version given that there are presumably many different kinds of Snowspeeder made by different manufacturers, just as there are different types of airspeeder.

The only other Imperial vehicle unaccounted for so far is the craft flanking Kylo Ren's shuttle in teaser #2 at 1:19. They look to be about the right size for a 792 piece set, so I think there is a fair chance that 75103 First Order Transporter will be based on one of those. Naturally it could also be something completely different that we haven't seen yet.

The Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens sets are due for release on Force Friday, the 4th of September. It's going to be chaos!

Interesting. Are these all the Force Awakens sets being released? I thought I heard there would be some lower priced ones, like battlepacks. Will be a bit disappointing if the third cheapest is £60.

I almost gasped at the sight of another Snowspeeder, but I guess it's completely different to previous ones as it's New Order.

A new Falcon hey, will be interesting what it looks like and the figures it includes.

By in United Kingdom,

A new falcon, x-wing, tie fighter and snow speeder bringing out the big guns straight away I see.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope the new Flacons design is better. The previous Falcon felt a little bare on the inside, when there is so much more detail in the movies.

By in Austria,

Seems overpriced as hell - not that I'm surprised
Based on the leaked picture, the "Command Shuttle" didn't look like it justified a €130 price point (compared to the "Tydirium" for example. also, it only has 1004 pieces, while Tydirium has 937)
Well, maybe I'll use Bricklink to get potentially useful pieces and/or minifig parts, other than that, I'm not interested.

By in Germany,

They definitely mixed up something with the € prices it's unrealistic that they're higher than the $ prices

By in United States,

So about $570 for just one wave. I think it's time (for me personally, anyway) to officially get out of collecting LEGO SW. I seriously have to wonder how long the line can sustain this type of inflation before imploding?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@fcbbrick: I believe these are the prices in France. It looks like prices in Germany are typically lower.

@Morgan19: It can be sustained as long as Star Wars is popular.

By in Netherlands,

Well very creative setlist, a TIE-fighter, an X-wing fighter and(!) a new falcon, ow and a..... speeder!
Probably great sets, but come on! It is like watching the same movie over and over again, we do want something new now and more often!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@binaryeye: I would say so as well. These are the typical strange prices for outside of Germany. Here we usually have the "round" prices ending on ..9.99
Having said that, they are pretty expensive. That Falcon better has some awesome look and detailed interior. The rest I might skip, though. Waiting for the smaller sets, that will contain the interesting figures. Those will come a bit later, as usual. Think about Movie's couch, Hobbit's witch king set, Harry Potter's Voldemort set etc.

Well, it's my 4th year out of my dark ages and being heavily in SW Lego. Until this point Ive been able to go near completionist owning almost every set from 2011 to current release and a good chunk of the 2009-2011 CW and OT.

I'm sad to see another Falcon, another X-wing and another Tie. I hope they are very noticeably different from the previous versions or else I'm just going to save up and nab the Ewok Village. Hard enough to find room to display what Ive got already. Doubling up on the same ~$100 Lego SW vehicles after 4 years does not sound like fun.

By in United States,

Star wars seven better not be a disappointment...

By in United States,

I'm going to get the Falcon. Passing on everything else. Only thing is the new Falcon has a square radar dish (the round one fell off in the 2nd Death Star). I never got a falcon before so I'll have to order the dish from the previous set on bricklink.

The set list doesn't look that great, a lot of remade ships. At this point I am more curious about what minifigures are going to come with the sets rather than what the ships look like. I probably won't get these until the movie comes out anyways. The movie will help me determine if I want to spend over $500 to collect 1 wave of star wars legos. This has to be the most expensive wave of sets ever, especially for how few of sets there are.

It is interesting that the Snowspeeder is a dark side vehicle. Wonder what that is going to look like.

By in United States,

Fans of play sets (are there any left besides me?) are dismayed by this product list. All I see are vehicles.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't understand why so many people are upset about a new x-wing, Tie fighter, etc...

The episode 7 versions of most of these vehicles are very obviously different from their older counterparts.

Just look at the new x-wing. It has different intakes, a shorter nose, different colors, sleeker profile, and the wings open way differntly.

Look at these comparisons.

Interesting pics, @MaverickDengo. Looks more like a Z-95 to me. Anyway, I'll be interested to see the differences in Lego--they're going to have a hard time topping 9492 and 9493!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've got a really GOOD feeling about this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They all sound amazing until you look at how expensive they all are. :O

By in Puerto Rico,

So far these interest me:
75100 First Order Snowspeeder - 444 pieces - £39.99, €54.99, $39.99
75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter - 517 pieces - £59.99, €76.99, $69.99
75102 Poe's X-wing Starfighter - 717 pieces - £69.99, €99.99, $79.99
75103 First Order Transporter

@Benjet6464: You can say that again.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want to see that X-Wing. I hope they don't use that ugly, tired windscreen they've been using for 16 years now.

But if it looks close I'll get it. I like the X-Wing redesign. It just looks so slick, and so much more like McQuarrie's original art.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Of course they would do another X-wing and Falcon. Looking forward to the First Order vehicles. I'm buying all of them. Tired of coming on here and seeing people complain only about price. Wait till at least the figs are released.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@binaryeye - Yes, thank you, I'm aware of that. =P I meant how long WILL it be popular if the prices keep increasing this way for the same or less amount of product.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I wonder how this Snowspeeder will look like. The prices doesn't look too high, pretty standard for SW sets. For example let's take Rey's speeder - 193pcs, 19.99$, that's the same price per piece as some City sets. And I think it will be more in this set than just 1 minifigure and speeder bike from trailer.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope we'll see UCS set from Ep VII. I'm tired of all the Ep IV stuff they seem to be focused on lately.

Gravatar
By in Hong Kong,

I love to see the new falcon.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Millennium falcon! Oh yea!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"i've got an idea... let's rerelease 7965-1 but with a square radar dish instead of the round one that was lost at the end of RotJ and some new figures, but keep han and chewie (same figs as previous). we wont change anything else, they'll never notice. we'll stick a £130 price on it too"... cynical

Thank you @Huw for drafting this article in a way that allows people like me to detect spoilers and avert my eyes from any critical information about the film. Can you please continue to not put any detailed information in the headlines to help people like me who are trying to avoid all details/info until I sit down in the cinema in Dec to watch the film. I know I am in a small cohort of people (who are not clambering for every detail about the film as soon as it is available), but any help you can give with this is much appreciated.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Or even, thank you to @CapnRex101 who put this article up!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm with @KingDave on this one. I absolutely love Star Wars but, apart from watching the two trailers, I have been actively avoiding any kind of spoilers put out there. I don't even know any new character names. I want to sit down on Dec 18th and be as excited as a kid.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@dmm32552 no, you're not the only one, I also greatly prefer location-based play sets to vehicles. I'm not too torn up about the lack of them in this wave though as it will make it easier to pass on these and buy sets from other themes. Especially as I'm sure the Australian RRP for these will turn out to be quite high.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ blacktron2246 and @ Shea42: There will be three expensive sets coming out this fall and one of them has been described as "Hoth-looking" so I think you'll see a playset as part of the series.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I really wish I hadn't seen this list.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The return and subsequent promotion of all of the familiar vehicles will help to usher in a new generation of Star Wars "stuff" by connecting what we all know and love with the new Star Wars cannon. The flood gates will open up in time and huge expansive play sets will most likely follow. There will be a huge 2nd wave of episode VII sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm with lippidp. I'd like to see some different UCS sets. Only 4 of the 23 official UCS sets are from the prequel trilogy. A Jedi Interceptor, an AT-RT walker, a podracer, an ARC-170 Starfighter: all great candidates for the UCS treatment.

Gravatar
By in United States,

IM SOOO EXCITED FOR THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also I know every other sw fan is too!!! I love the idea of a new TIE fighter but way too over priced but I guess that's what you can expect form todays prices but if the TIE fighter is anything like the one from rebels im not interested.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wonder how they will implement the minifigure for BB-8.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

So high euro price...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm hoping for minimal, possibly no stickers and all figures having leg printing and most having arm printing. I'll also be anxious to see if every set has at least one unique minifigure to it.

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

I'm with fcbbrick. De dollar is worth more than the Euro now. So how come prices in euro are higher?
For every set sold in Euros they earn 10% more than on the same set in dollars. That should be some kind of mistake. And that's why the € prices are so high.
