Toys R Us launches new minifig collections
Posted by Huw,
A new series of limited edition minifigure packs exclusive to Toys R Us has been launched in Germany.
The first of four packs -- musicians -- is now available but can only be purchased online. Unfortunately the store only ships to Germany, Belgium, Poland and Italy so many of us will have to hope they make an appearance elsewhere.
Update: Images of the other three have been found by CM4Sci and you can view them here.
Thanks to Separator for the news.

15 Euros? No, thanks.
But it's good to know they ship to Italy too.
Mix of old CMF parts. Nothing special. Especially for 15 euros.
Thanks for letting us know, ordered!
Far too expensive for something like that, especially as there is nothing new or exclusive here (packaging aside, which with something as small as this gets thrown in the trash anyway - trust my wife...).
I wonder if this will be Bricktober in the States.
The price is fine when you consider other four packs of minifigures like cops and fire fighters are USD $10.
I'd bet these are the 'bricktober' give aways this year.
I'm living in germany and i think that 15 euros are much to expensive for that set im paying 14 euros for a lego Star Wars battlepack with four really cool and special minifigures and a little build, this set is one of the worst minifigure based setzs ever released!
The only accessory is a single microphone for a "musicians"-themed set. Yeah, had they thrown in some guitars and perhaps a brick-built drum set, this could have been a win. As it is, pass. Also, I guess we're done with "Vintage" sets now. That's disappointing. I liked those.
These will be the Bricktober promos in the US. A set with a similar set number which had "warriors" in the name appeared on the TRU hold list a couple weeks ago. It has since been removed (likely for confidentiality reasons) but should be added again closer to October,
If these are the U.S. Bricktober sets, then great. I loved the mini-modulars from the last two years, but it was expensive as hell getting four relatively small sets. I'm looking forward to a break from them.
That's a disappointment if these are the Bricktober promotions, but with four sets, that seems likely. I liked those small buildings for the tremendous amount of detail they had. This set is something I could build at a LEGO store.
@parsom- Are you absolutely sure that it is made up of entirely previously used CMF parts? If so, a pass for me. Thanks!
TRU are having a laugh at the lego fans expense. Literally.
It is not even a particular set of musicians or famous band.
These should have been E10, at the most.
If you all wait 6 months without buying them TRU might have to sell them at 50% .......
Now that would be even greater. Over here we should pay 15 Euro for these while in the US they are given away with purchases in October. Oh well, I have had too many annoying experiences with TRU lately, so won't be spending one more cent there anyway.
It's nice for parts. The blue hair I never got and the the figure in the middle to the left looks like Cory from Boy Meets World.
That's disappointing if they're for Bricktober. The mini modulars I would buy on their own (don't shop much at TRU), but I wouldn't go out of my way for these.
This is such a stupid thing. They're clearly just trying to get rid of those leftover CMF pieces!
They look like a set of figures a little kid would piece together from a build-a-fig bin.
15 EUROS for mismached figures? WOW
That is the most notable problem with these..too mis-matched. They don't look like they belong together at all, let alone in a collection. However, for the right price I would pick up the musician one considering the black Afro is hard to find. But the rest is a waste of time and I rarely go to TRU anyway, so likely I will skip out on these too.
Parts from leftover-bin as parsom said. Not even some of the best torsos imo (tho series 3 elf is a goodun in the warriors pack, but no shield or any special accessories......no chance.)
Obviously, not all the parts are coming from CMFs. These are generally some ordinary looking parts put into unique combinations. In the Cops & Robbers pack, the guy on the left has the legs with robe printing that go with the Emperor Palpatine minifigure.
Wha--? OK, that's bizarre. Certainly disappointing... that robber isn't wearing any pants because reasons... and bizarre. I never cared for the mini-modular myself, but that was better than glorified Build-A-Minifig bar detritus.
I wouldn't mind these for the parts if noting else depending on how much they'll cost here in the states.
I wonder if the criminals pants are really yellow.. they sure look like it. Weird...
That criminal isn't wearing pants. That's how he got arrested.
They look like the sort of thing kids knock up at the little minifigure building stand in the Lego store. Some of them look really mis-matched.
These sets will be free at US Toys R Us stores each week in October with a $50 LEGO purchase. Our store received a Bricktober calendar similar to LEGO Brand Store calendars today.
@ResIpsaLoquitur: hah!
Meh sets.
Not a huge fan of these figure packs they've done in the past but at least it is not four random figures they all relate this time.
@MyBrickBites, the criminal's legs are not yellow, but bright-light-orange. A piece that came with the Series 3 Fisherman. I doubt we will ever see "naked" minifigs again.
They look a lot like what most kids/people build in a Lego store. o_O
Will probably pick up the Warrior one though, could use the king and the dress for a theme of mine.
Certainly not the cops and robbers, there are too much of them in Lego city as there is.
No Space minifig collection, with a classic space guy = meh for me on the whole thing. Just want to get classic Space minifig in a new color (Green was so wonderful!). Is that so hard to dream for?
I can't say any of them excite me. Meh. That's $60 or so saved.
BTW, has everyone seen that in September, TRU is giving away two free Disney builds?
They look a little frightening. http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=4311963
These should be in UK TRU stores, I have seen them on the system when I searched.
it's available in Switzerland too
Not a bargain unless they are free with a £40 spend?
The Warrior and Athlete Packs look slightly interesting.

The Cops and Robbers and Musicians packs are very forgetable.

As other people say, these articles are ridicolous!! They seem the pieces that you can match in the LEGO Store to produce the minifigure you want. They are the CMF leftover but, putting them together without harmony!!! Children in shops produce better minifigures!! They seem a total chaos!! It's the body of the Hippie, the hair of Disco Fever Dancer and legs from a indian girl!! Do they want to imitate Village's People band??
Like others have said, you can get these figures (well maybe not the black fro hair piece) from BaM in LEGO stores, kinda nice I guess if you are not near one though.
There are pieces from Star wars, Ultra agents, city and the cmfs. Huh ill try to get all of them
