21035 Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum revealed
Posted by CapnRex101,
The first official image of 21035 Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum has been discovered in an Italian LEGO catalogue by Promobricks.
The catalogue states that the set will be released in April but does not give a price. It looks to be a little larger than 21029 Buckingham Palace in which case I imagine the set will cost around £49.99 or $59.99.
I think the model looks excellent and the tiny lettering above the entrance is a particularly impressive detail. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

This is a huge improvement over the last model, it looks amazing!
WANT!
Better than the last version, and it's worthy than the newest version of Burj Khalifa. Want this but will cost 60€€, that's hurt!!
Very impressive, they should skip yellow cars, otherwise very good. Potential purchase.
@almir_lego I'm pretty sure the "yellow cars" are Ford Crown Victoria taxicabs, which are a common part of New York's cityscape.
Set looks great, and way better than the crude render that surfaced last year. Love the lettering on the building itself, but it appears the printed black tile is no more?
Oooooh, looks lovely.
This is really well done. Accurate shape. It looks to include unusual building techniques.
I don't understand LEGO's obsession with re-doing architectural models. It's like they have 20 buildings they are permitted to create models for and the rest are for some reason off limits. Hey, maybe we can get yet another version of the Sydney Opera House next! Ugh.
That's a really pretty LEGO set. Should be interesting to build, as well... I was just looking on LEGO's instruction page, which was updated with all the newly released sets, and they didn't have this listed, so I was kind of wondering what happened to it.
me like.
Sorry, but as confirmed by the entertainer it will be £64.99. thanks brexit
Looks good!
Is that wall just tons of 1x1 tiles? Those are really useful.
Good luck with aligning these 1×1 tiles …!
Nice remake. But the price level is probably going to be prohibitive. Often it's cheaper to Bricklink the pieces.
@Dude45 sure, if all you want to do is build it. But I for one don't mind spending a little extra for the superior box and detailed background info found in the perfect bound instruction booklet.
Paying a premium for the presentation.
Much better than the 2009 version, but I'd also prefer a new building instead of a rehash of a previous one. I'm surprised this set isn't the Bilbao museum ;-) If the RRP is £65 as The Entertainer claims, I'll wait for a 25%+ discount. After all, Buckingham is £40 for a slightly higher piece count.
I was fond of the original version but agree this is a much more faithful rendition (as you might expect given its larger scale). Displaying the two together should be rather amusing!
Personally I enjoy both the single buildings and the cityscapes, which are a useful reminder that buildings don't exist in isolation.
I am excited for this set. I always prefer a larger piece count version as it looks better with more details then smaller models.
I too enjoy the skyline series @sklamb. They are perfect for displaying on my desk at work.
As others have said, this is a huge improvement over the previous version. Aligning all of those 1x1 tiles would drive me crazy though.
Funny to think that just two years ago I thought of the Architecture series as overpriced and unattractive. How things have changed. This will definitely be on my shopping list this year, albeit only at discount prices, which Architecture sets fortunately often see over here. As a matter of fact, the Flatiron Building for less than half price was what first got me into trying out the Architecture series.
is this a re-release or is this a totally new design?
@minishark1000, just filter architecture sets under browse sets/theme here on brickset, very simple :-)
set 21004 was the first version - this is definitely a complete redesign, and quite a step up in my opinion.
