Looks like mail theft is taken seriously by Lego Forest Police

They should be safe, pretty sure that's Marijuana Bear. Just toss him a picnic basket.

The best police station out of the many lego has made!

I do need to get one of those bears.

I was going to question the necessity of a forest PD. But, there's no denying the danger posed by Cocaine Bear!

Love this set. Not because it has a great bear in it or because it is a tranquil and peaceful place or even because it is an early set I got and enjoyed with my kids (and we played it to death). No, this set is great because it features prominently in LEGO City Undercover along with the venerable Farm subtheme ( 7637, 7684 et al) down the road.

I'm no lumberjack, but I'm pretty sure that's the wrong kind of axe to use if you plan on getting in a fight with a forest.

Those bears were so good.

Best police station EVER.

By in Turkey,

Forest Police was a nice change of pace. There were so many iterations of city cops. But also in 2010's I remember cars being atrocious but SUV and vans looking better.

I have to agree. A really well done ranger style station with the log pieces. Simple but effective.

Hey, you stop maligning Deputy Yogi like that!

By in Canada,

@Brickalili: Nah, that would have more to do with the afore mentioned picnic...er, pick-a-nick (gotta use the the "local dialect":)) basket...Besides, on "Jellystone": Yogi, Booboo, and Cindy are the...medical...staff...ya' know, I think we're safer "here"...:)

Side-note: When TLG brought out "Forest Police", my first, immediate thought was:...So...Forest RANGERS...

By in Germany,

Addmittedly, one of the nicest police stations. Presumably, because it manages to stand out, like the swamp and forrest police stations.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Oh yeah! Forest Police was such a good subtheme! A shame that this would be the first step to Sky Police, easily one of the worst in LEGO City…

This is a great set regardless, easily one of the top five City Police Stations.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't have huge interest in City Police as a line but I think it'd be cool to see them revisit Forest Police.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Yeah, this was a well-done set for City standards. Simple and effective, but not TOO simple. Although the excessive focus on vehicles characteristic of City was a turnoff for me.

But it lost its shine for me when the swamp police did basically the same thing. And then there was the mountain police. Sky police... police, police police police police and more police!
Looking back, it's still standing above the ones that came later. And its appearance in Lego City Undercover helps to solidify its place as one of the more memorable ones. Not unlike the 1996 sets that appeared on Lego Island.

By in United Kingdom,

It would be fun to put together a list of sets which seemingly attempt to create interest by simply combining two utterly different things which have never been combined before, and probably never will be again. Personal favourite is of course 6067.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Strange to include a helicopter without the usual roof-top landing pad? Maybe if the tree and boulder were instead a cave for the bear things could become more interesting.

Love to see some love for LEGO City Undercover in here, it such an underrated game in TT's library. They went so many extra miles to flesh out a lively and massive open world, and the story is unironically great for being completely original!

I agree its the GOAT, but they sure did drop the ball on having over 300 characters by making the process of changing them tedious, requiring going into a menu into a disguise booth. They made a red brick that allows you to spawn vehicles without a pad, yet no way to easily change characters without a loading screen. So the vast majority of characters you never use, and don't discover cool details such as the Minotaur's axe giving him some of the abilities of a fireman, but not all.

It's a nice looking set - I would love to talk more about the video game though.. Has a video game ever been RSotD?

Still holding out for a sequel to Lego City Undercover! I know there was a prequel on DS and a much smaller version on Dimensions..

By in United States,

What a great set! Wasn't this the first one with masonry bricks?

Gravatar
By in United States,

This instantly takes me to Lego City Undercover, which my son and I played and replayed for hundreds of hours. This videogame was also the inspiration for me to start building the vehicles featured in this game in real life for my son to play with. Many vehicles were from actual sets, but some of our favorites were never sold by LEGO, so I reverse engineered many of them from screenshots and posted them on rebrickable now for anyone who wants to download and build them like we did.

He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps, he likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on minidoll hairdos, and hangs around in bars...?

(Hmm, if he's so keen on cutting down trees maybe that's why cypresses are so costly these days).

He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch
He goes to the lavatory
On Wednesdays he goes shopping
And has buttered scones for tea

One of the sets that brought me out of my Dark Ages! I love the park ranger vibes of Forest Police - while I wish they were more civilian-oriented outdoors sets rather than the usual cops and robbers, it's still a great set in a great theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

When this came out I only wanted it for the bear, but couldn't justify it. I finally splurged on a bear a few months ago at a convention. Not cheap, but now I have it I guess..

“Hey, what are you doing? I’m not a criminal! I’m a pirate…which…um…okay, fine, you got me.”

@iamkevinwill:
RSotD has a requirement of 10pc, so “sets” like baseplates, brick separators, motors, and polybags that are just a minifig aren’t included in the pool of available sets. If there’s not a rule against polybags in general, 30164 may actually qualify, but the only video games that I know of that might qualify are every Dimensions pack except for 71340 and 71342. Except the first packs won’t be eligible until January 1st, 2025.

@Indy24LA:
It released concurrently with 4438, which has a lower set number. 4438 released January 1st, the first year the masonry brick was available, so 4440 should be one of the first, but probably not actually first.

By in United States,

I got this for my then six year-old son and it helped me leave my dark ages behind. Great set! I love the forest ranger idea as a sub-theme. Great architecture that really gives it a rustic yet modern feel. It stayed in our city layout until last year when we got the police station modular. The police van in this set is also an amazing build. Wild that masonry bricks debuted that year.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Such a nostalgic set! I remember this police subtheme very fondly. Also I believe this was the set that introduced that bear mold?

I played the prequel and it's nice for what it is. It's less grounded and serious, but that allows for some creative gameplay ideas. Where it fails though, surprisingly, is the story! It had some shoes to fill after the implications made by the main game, but they didn't really pay them off well. Like (Spoiler alert) the whole "Chase accidentally revealed Natalia's identity" thing always seemed to imply that it happened due to their relationship, a "blind love blunder" if you will. But nope, He just rolls down the museum steps while fighting Rex, gets queasy from it, and randomly says it out loud. Wow. The weirdest part is that LCU was the only home console game by TT Fusion, which is Traveler's Tales handheld department, so the same team made both games. I would understand this discrepancy in tone and storytelling if different divisions made the games, but this is just really weird...

All that aside, I would be ludicrously excited for a sequel, because this is unironically one of my favorite video games period!

Same, the crash animations thankfully make it easier to reverse-engineer the vehicles, I successfully reconstructed the awesome ATHENA roadster in Stud.io, I have yet to aquire the parts for it though. Nice to hear from parents playing the game with their kids, I actually gave my first copy of the game on PS4 (my sister owned the console and moved out) to my chemistry teacher as a farewell gift when he went into paternity timeout, and when I met him recently, he told me he loves playing it with his son and already is well underway on 100-percenting it!

Edit: Wait, I kinda overread the rebrickable thing the first time, I just looked you up, and consider me MIGHTILY impressed! Great work! I will probably have to put in a few brickowl orders now!

I've built quite a few of those cars you put on Rebrickable, and just uploaded pictures of them to their respective pages. Thank you for putting the instructions up for all to enjoy!
