By in Canada,

Can you just imagine you're watching the news one night and the reporter has no face?

By in United States,

Next up on TV 2! Cowboy enters the modern age, and hilarity ensues! But later, tired of detaching your torso to sit? A revolutionary new pair of legs could be just what you need!

By in United States,

Time to face the facts and realize that nobody's watching.

By in United States,

I like the way the did the camera.

@minishark1000: Not only that, but their hands are fused to their sides, so they can't hold their microphone or gesture to things.

STickers Across Multiple Pieces?! NOOO!

...and even this box was censored by a big white sticker. What's under that sticker?!

By in Canada,

That van gets perfect reception.

What’s that antiquated, pointy piece of equipment beside the van, you ask? It’s an antenna, used for receiving analogue signals in glorious black-and-white imagery, and sometimes even in colour! With an astounding 4:3 aspect ratio you could watch 2x2 LEGO bricks the way they were meant to be seen!

Ah, the good ol’ days.

I never had this set.

By in Turkey,

This would look nice as a prop set in a MOC museum in a Lego Town.

I think the sticker was a price tag, and the price was removed after the scan of the box

By in Japan,

The time before minifigs looked pretty eerie.....

You’d have to, since you can’t actually see it with no face of your own.

Those antennas were so fragile, even the real world mostly got rid of them!

As for the lack of faces: they are all just Noppera-bo!

By in Denmark,

Tv2 is an actual tv station here in Denmark

Believe it or not, we loved our slabbies back in the day. Of course, articulated minifigures changed all that. But the fused figures were considered cool until then.

By in Germany,

I really liked this set as a kid.

NPU, 1977-style.

I remember the TV2 stickers from the 6000 ideas book but this set was before my time.

You're dang right. You know it's a bad channel when they have to reclassify themselves as "infotainment" in order to avoid lawsuits about truth in journalism.

Believe it or not, that’s not true. My second set had a miniquin, but if my third hadn’t come with a proper minifig, I might have started to lose interest. Even at such a young age, I was extremely disappointed in the fact that you had to disassemble the body to “seat” one on a motorcycle, which looked like trash when parked.

By in United States,

With the new episode of Doctor Who this evening featuring the return of The Wire, it only feels right that the random set of the day is one with TV cameras and minifigures that resembles faceless Rose and grandma from the original Idiot Lantern episode (color and all).

Anyone else who has/had the 'remake' 6661 ?

Well, at least the van can be considered a version 2.

Looking back the reporter was a super multitasker.

And there's even an ultrarare special edition version for the German WDR station:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=6661-2

And whereas nowadays they would do a sticker, back then they even printed a special WDR version of that "TV" panel. Unfortunately neither the set nor the panel are currently for sale on ebay or Bricklink. Small wonder, since it's so rare.

TV2 Denmark was established in 1986, which means that this set came 9 years earlier. I guess life imitates art (and LEGO bricks).

From what I could find out it apparently was a giveaway at a special event that WDR held for an anniversary they celebrated. I would love to know how many were produced back then.

Believe it or not, i'm with Zander.

[HAL-9000 voice] : I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid you've been out-voted.

I thought you'd say, "Suspect is hatless!" :D

Seriously, this looks like a nice little set and, with the other sets, definitely has play value. (Such as the fire trucks going to a fire, or filming a parade, etc.)

@kdu2814: I'm reminded of a meme I once saw that used a screencap from "The Idiot's Lantern." It's also applicable to this set. "Rose. I find your lack of face disturbing."
