Today's random set is 6633 Family Car, released during 1985. It's one of 24 Town sets produced that year. It contains 40 pieces and 1 minifig.

It's owned by 841 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $229.40, or eBay.

Oof, not much of a family car if there's no family...

He is the family because he lives alone, like most Brickset members because they only go out to buy more Lego instead of going on a date.

By in Brazil,

A sports single-seater is considered a family car now? Crazy.

By in Australia,

Stripes on the bonnet? The first Speed Champions set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

He’s a family guy.

Also striped shirt. Proof he’s married as I doubt any single guy would wear that.

Ouch.

I mean, you're not wrong, but still.

The perfect family car. Plenty of room for children laying across the rear parcel shelf and, of course, on the driver's lap....

By in New Zealand,

Second 80's vehicle in a row on RSotD! I notice how both figures are walking in the same direction and one door on each vehicle is open.

By in United States,

I've got this little 1980s car build in red and in white. It's a really cute little car, but today's Lego cars are a lot better.

By in United States,

Studs on the hood only makes it that much more obvious that this thing has all the aerodynamic qualities of a cactus tied to a brick.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

I wasn't bonkers for getting this set, but still I like having this car rolling in my town. Besides black seat wasn't a common occurrence.

By in United Kingdom,

I know car salesmen are notoriously shady, but trying to sell a car with room for one and no boot space as a “family vehicle” really takes the cake

Gravatar
By in Romania,

Real missed opportunity to have the stripes on the roof too

Yes. Huwbot must be experiencing some Legoland Town System nostalgia. The "posing" of the mini-figures and vehicles I assume is to exhibit functionality or else because this was when the real models were posed for the box art as compared to the current renderings. This car resides in my collection; it was part of a special Legoland Town Value pack 1967. These value packs at the time were rare to find in stores in my area,

Mmmm.
Cake.

By in Netherlands,

More 4-wide goodness! Okay, this wasn't exactly the most exciting set of that era, but I like what they did with those stripes. Would have been even better if those had continued over the roof, but then they had to ditch the hinged roof.

It would have been better though if they had named this something like "GTI" instead...

By in Spain,

If it's a only person family guy, the car is not useful at all

Because there is no room for placing the LEGO sets he buys

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not much of a family car, as TD Bricks pointed out in his "old LEGO" video

And I love how it costs $200 mint in box when you can literally buy the pieces and minifigure for probably $15

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Cool car. The stripes look interesting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Woo hoo, one of my childhood sets, and amazingly it survived completely intact.

By in Jersey,

I dont recall this one being offered in the United Kingdom, but I was happy with 6634 anyway. Or 6655, or the very similar cars that came with 6371, 6374, 6384

This has been Huwbot's small set week. Except for the space shuttle, they've all been 50 or fewer pieces.

The striped shirt is the Lego City football team uniform, as seen in sets like 3409.

...only he's wearing it fifteen years before the Lego City football team existed!

I was so puzzled when I first saw that design in older sets, having assumed that it was new at the time. Still curious to me that they rolled out an old print and put numbers on the back of it (and changed the arm colour) to make the first wave of Sports minifigures, instead of making a unique design.

Dislike!

I am surprised no one has said "his family is in the trunk." Of course if this was a Fabuland set, that would have been one of the first three comments.

I would go out with the Never Witch from 71477.

I'm afraid that button doesn't exist.

@calculus_teacher: 1967 was a a multi-theme set, and didn't include this set anyway. Did you put the wrong set number in? If that's what happened, a calculus teacher should be more careful with numbers than that.

Don't be silly. Elephants aren't carnivores. He'd be fleeing for his life.
