Yet the sea is nowhere in sight.

Ah yes, a city park, exactly what I picture when I think of, "The Sea..."

Ah yes, a transparent fluorescent green cockpit window. Perfectly safe... not!

Maybe the set photographer is wearing glasses that have transparent fluorescent green lenses, because it's clearly a park, NOT the sea!

By in New Zealand,

Hey, it might be a spelling error? It's probably meant to be see helicopter, But a transparent fluorescent green cockpit window! I don't think you can "see" very well out of that!

Maybe that's why there are no rotors? Because they snapped off as he unknowingly hit the side of the apartment building which is in the background.

By in Canada,

Looks more like a deformed sprinkler, to me. I mean c’mon add a couple of 1x6 plates for some rotors at least!

Maybe it’s one of those splash pad contraptions?

@Maxbricks14:
Ooh, maybe someone tagged the windscreen with a UV laser, and the whole thing lit up like a Christmas tree, so the pilot couldn't see anything.

By in United States,

My LEGO nostalgia is fading here…

By in United States,

Ah, This is not a helicopter it is a, a, a… What is it?
And I’m really struggling to see how this thing flys the rotors are so tiny!

Gravatar
By in United States,

And I thought 6462 had an undersized rotor...

Gravatar
By in United States,

This reminds me of those little Mcdonald's sets they made.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Heading to BrickLink right away to steal this for nearly US$10!!!

By in United States,

I thought it was a McDonald's promo until I looked at the set entry and saw that it was a Kabaya promo.

Those 2000s polybags were horrible. Still, at least you get a Lego set for free with your food!

It flies like poor Woodstock does, obviously.

Neither are the rotor blades.

I guess it's supposed to be one of those sit-on rides for little kids, where you throw in a coin and it starts rocking about for a minute or two.
Those machines usually also have comically tiny rotors - for obvious reasons.

Move the cockpit/rotor assembly forward one row of studs (or the printed tail section back one row) and you even have room for a minifig to sit.

By in Germany,

What I find most amusing is that new ones are supposed to be selling for around 10 Dollars. I mean this thing consists of 13 pieces, and quite common ones at that.

Ah yes, a tiny creator promo set meant to be given away with candy gets ratio'd by the comment section for not being accurate.

Never change Brickset! Never change...

I mean, it's not great of course. But there's positives. Like trans neon green! And the color scheme kind of works. It does look helicopter-ish. And... you get... parts? Useful ones!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

You, uh, you missing some rotors there little guy?

Why do I get the feeling this is actually one of those children’s rides that just bobs back and forth when you put a coin in?

2001 was a dark, dark time.

Why do I get a feeling of deja vu?
;-)

Lego has come a long way in 20 years, apparently, judging from these sets.

You make a fair point; symmetrical rotors would have needed an extra 4 parts I think, and I really don’t see 4 parts could be saved anywhere else? We’re only working with 13 elements here!

I guess they decided that a functional spinning rotor was more important than something that actually looks like a rotor, and maybe for a introductory set that’s a fair decision

By in Germany,

I got this alongside a meal in Legoland back in 2002. A long time I thought this was made specifically as a Legoland giveaway.

While it's rather simple, it had some nice parts in it, especially that trans-neon green slope.

Probably by the same people that whine how LEGO these days isn’t creative anymore…

Yeah. As much as I love Res-Q, that rotor is pathetic.

By in United States,

I sure do "see" a helicopter

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wait! I got it! We're supposed to "sea" the helicopter, in the verbal sense. You know, chuck it in the sea to dispose of it.

I know you're joking, but in this day and age of stupid people taking everything they read on the internet at face value, one should never even suggest chucking stuff in the sea in order to dispose of them.

@AustinPowers:
Don't have to. LA has a fine tradition of disposing of unwanted, and unlicensed, pay-scooters by heaving them in the bay.
