Random set of the day: Ferrari F1 Racer
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 8362 Ferrari F1 Racer, released during 2004. It's one of 22 Racers sets produced that year. It contains 113 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$15/£9.99.
It's owned by 2,070 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $79.90, or eBay.

These sets were the predecessors of speed champions.
Ooo, it's a pullback motor so that when it smacks into the wall it looks just like a real crash!
That face print is cursed...
Used to have that one (I mean, I used its pieces to complete other sets and some MOCs). I built it for a last time shortly after I got 76909 to compare it with the Mercedes F1, such an evolution. I had lots of fun with that set when I was kid thanks to the pullback motor.
I kinda remember hearing that they were making Ferrari sets, and I kinda remember being incredibly disappointed that they were all F1.
Racers seemed to be all over the place from Hot Wheels-sized things to having its own track system and carry case layouts to RC cars and licensed products. I like it.
A classic now. Peak system style 2004 F1 design (and yes, there was another one).
Those stickers man. Those stickers started turning to dust the instant they were applied to the bricks.

I had the one with pit crew, same problem. I dismantled it later on, the scale was way off with anything I own.
Agh, those eyes! Giving Timmy a run for his money in the abyssal stares competition
Loved these pullback motor sets. Racers was a good theme in the early 00s.
I have the 1:8 version of this (8674) which contains the most expensive black lego piece listed on Brickset (the tyres)

Ok.
Have this one somewhere.
Stickers not in good shape though...
Most peeling or (as others have mentioned) dust.

Yeah, it's interesting comparing this to SC F1 cars.
Really interesting how different these sets look from newer Speed Champions cars nowadays
