Only three minifigs?

Anyone would think it's a Star Wars set...

Huwbot's been on a bit of a vehicle streak lately! 9 days in fact. If you count the crater critters set, which does have wheels.

And that 9 day streak started with another City train, which was also high speed.

But this one can take passengers. Says so right in the title.

Dude brought a bike to a train race. Joke's on the train, as the track doesn't follow the race course! Ha ha! Collapsing over the finish line in limp-noodle exhaustion FTW!

By in United States,

We just got a high speed train a little over a week ago, but this one carries passengers. I say that assuming that these are not high speed passengers who happen to own a regular old train.

The train subtheme from 2014 was the best in my opinion. Until 2018’s 60197 was released this was the best passenger train ever (despite the nose pieces that required too much clearance around corners). 60052 is still the best Cargo train and 60050 is a fantastic train station.

Speaking of trains, I'm wondering if the Orient Express 21344 is now shipping (from Lego.com, Belgium) with the correct stickers / printed tiles, or if they still have to be ordered from Customer Services. Anybody bought one recently?

Ladies and Gentleman, the 'rail' equivalency of NASCAR...:)

By in Canada,

This was the second train I bought for my kids. The first was the Christmas train of 2016 and it only appeared during December. This one was enabled year round. So many memories of this going around the track, so many smiles and all that laughing (when they weren’t, uh, debating as to who got to use the remote). It may not be the best train, or the fanciest, but to us it remains memorable.

much like 60197, can be much improved by rebuilding with longer bases (which gives an opportunity to build some sort of doors) Otherwise, nice looking, in a "we have ICE at home" sort of way

All that speed and nowhere to go

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Lego City must be a pretty insignificant place if this is its HST station....

That said, considering the lack of doors there's not really a need for a platform either.

I hadn't heard there had been an issue. My set is still sitting boxed up having been pre-ordered and then delivered a couple of days after release. Won't be building it until I have a case to put it in (I refuse to pay WB's exorbitant shipping rate for their case).

For a moment I thought this was the 2006 passenger train (7897).

By in Belgium,

I’m just going to repeat my comment from the high speed train couple days ago :D

"Lego indeed likes their high speed trains!

- 1985 - 7745 High-Speed City Express Passenger Train Set
- 2003 - today's RSOTD 4511 High Speed Train
- 2014 - 60051 High-speed Passenger Train
- 2022 - 40518 High-Speed Train

As mentioned above both locomotive and wagons of 4511 could be bough separately. And both 10157 (the locomotive) and 10158 (the wagon) were already random sets of the day "

Initial stickers were yellow rather than gold and town name prints were misspelt. Apparently future batches were corrected but I know they were still shipping with incorrect ones at least until February.

So, I just got the OE last week and started building it. I forgot about the name/sticker fiasco. Unfortunately, my stickers are YELLOW and I've applied most of them already. And yes, the tiles are still the original misspelled version as well. Crud.

Interesting. When I get it I'll be sure to order the corrections then, even if I don't open the box straight away!

By in United Kingdom,

I have just opened my box. The sticker sheets (there are 2) only have the names of the loco (Sapphire Star) and this is correctly spelled. There are no other name stickers. They are, however, yellow and not gold. The tiles which I believe you are talking about - the names of the cities above the carriage windows) all appear correct - they are the same as the ones on the LEGO website.

What tiles are mis-spelled on the defective sets?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have located a photo on a google search which shows the misprinted tiles. It appears the umlaut is missing from Munchen and they have mis-spelled Bucaresti. I assume I need to contact LEGO to get new ones?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have e-mailed LEGO for replacements.

Thank you for pointing this out as I never knew about it.

No need for seats in this train. Just instruct everyone to line up along the outside wall, get it up to speed, drop the floor six inches, and let everyone marvel at the fact that centrifugal force keeps them stuck to the wall.

- 4x 6453209 Gold 'BUCARESTI'* and 'BEOGRAD' Pattern --> should be 4x 6519719 Gold 'BUCURESTI'* and 'BEOGRAD' Pattern (*: Brickset doesn't render the "S" correctly, it should be the S-cedilla character)

- 4x 6453207 Gold 'PARIS' and 'MUNCHEN' Pattern --> should be 4x 6519718 Gold 'PARIS' and 'MÜNCHEN' Pattern

The locomotive in 60052 looks great but can't have working lights without heavy modification, so I hold 60098 a little higher when it comes to cargo trains.

I hope that train can go like 200mph.

And not forgetting 7740 which is probably the 'daddy' of Lego trains, 12v speed too. Got this for Christmas 1981 and I can still remember opening the box and building it - it was the biggest box I had ever seen; I still have the track, the motor, train base plates and a few bits and bobs together with a rather tatty box - wish I still had the whole thing though...]]]]

Same for me. I submitted a request for replacement as well. Hopefully I can remove the few stickers I placed already without causing any issues. Thanks for all of the help gang!
