Is the Bionicle a vehicle? If it isn't then a streak of 4 is hardly significant. It's not even unique in the 'Recent' list.

By in United States,

So I was going through some of Technic's backlog because I was going to comment about how Tehcnic was still not quite in it's fully paneled state like it is today what with those wheel wells, but then I saw 8284 and realized that this is a near identical version of that Tractor but in Red. The most change in the sets are what's behind the Tractor, but the Tractor is just about a carbon copy. There's no information indicating they are from the same designer, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. I'm not saying don't use the same thing from before, but the only real change I found from the main images were the steps to get up into the seat. Perhaps there's more going on inside. But also perhaps that's why this set only lasted 4 months while the other lasted 2 and a half years, anyone that bought it felt like they got ripped off and told everyone else to stay away.

klakk is a rahi not a vehicle (rahi is basically the bionicle word for animal). I dont think anyone is seen riding atop any klakk in story either, so I doubt it qualifies. The throwbots character of scuba also isnt a vehicle, so it is only a streak of 2. if you ignore constraction however, then the streak is rather impressive.

Ooh... it's a record streak of Lego sets. Just imagine if it's another Lego set tomorrow. I don't think I'll be able to contain my excitement...

Take out the "with" and its a completely different vehicle altogether

Well, this one is over 70 studs long, so I'm going to allow that.

By in Canada,

I like it when soft axles are used for contouring: a hint at the shape of the vehicle without hiding the gizmos inside. Better in my opinion than all the fairings in use today.

Forgetting that set, every other one chosen has been a vehicle since https://brickset.com/article/110780/random-set-of-the-day-high-speed-train
14 days, with only one interruption.

Nice, but not necessary. Trailer just increases the cost. On the other hand, I prefer the bare look of the Technic sets, rather than covered. I'm oldschool in that way.

Not pictured; the inevitable traffic jam that builds up behind this thing whenever it takes to the road...

Unfortunately, that isn't how streaks work.

By in Hungary,

I've just built its older brother recently, but this set will be obtained in the future to display them side by side.

Also, the green panels always come in handy. :)

Like MCLegoboy said, this is a strange case where it's mostly a palette swap of a 2006 set, 8284 Tractor/Dune Buggy. But now with a trailer! Weirdly, that set was sold as the B model Dune Buggy at the front of the box in some regions I recall, which is something lego did sometimes back then. It's funny to see how it uses the latest flat rectangle panels on the back but also uses an older generation of panel on the hood.

To my knowlegde palette swap rereleases are rare in technic. Technically 8942-1 Jetrax T6 was rereleased as the 8942-2 yellow Jetrax T6 but Bionicle wasn't Technic anymore at that point.
In technic I recalled a small telehadler and a small container truck getting the same treatment later. But they just look similar on closer inspection: 42084 Hook Loader and 42147 Dump Truck, and 8045 Mini Telehandler and 42133 Telehandler.
Any other cases of palette swaps in technic I forgot? (My interest in the theme dropped off in recent years, so there might be more blatant cases).

I saw the tractor on the main page today and immediately thought ' another vehicle - wonder if Max is going to post about a vehicle streak'.

And I was not disappointed.

Forget the naysayers on here Max - it's little things like that which brighten my day and make me smile.

Yep - I am a sad old git with not much of a life.................

What springs to my mind about colour palette swap is 42031 - 42088
And of course the recent Bugatti Bolides and Lamborghini Huracáns.

Those Cherry Pickers are excellent examples. 42151 and 42162, and 42161 and 42196 are definitely much more intentional to provide options since they're a bit too close to each other's release, but the Cherry Pickers are great.

At least you're not shaking your cane at kids and yelling at them to get off of your lawn. You're not, right?

I'm with you my friend. i own 8284, and i feel like they look exactly the same, despite me not having built 8063 before, i feel like i know the process already. it's strange

I'm glad somebody's positive, unlike a lot of Brickset members out there.
