Random minifig of the day: cop025

Posted by ,

Today's random minifigure is cop025 Police - Zipper with Sheriff Star, Black Hat, a Town figure that came in one set, 1376 Spider-Man Action Studio, released during 2002.

Our members collectively own a total of 1,477 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $1.80.

Look right here, please.

I didn't think I had this guy until I saw what set he came in; I figured he was from World City or something.

@Huw said in the comments of yesterday's RPotD that it will be the last article for a while because of the large amount of parts that do not have images.

Ah. That's a little disappointing then.

It's weird seeing yesterday's RPotD and RSotD articles displaying without an RMotD article between them, but that'll go away in about twenty minutes...

Surely I can't be the only one who would be willing to submit images of parts? If a list of the parts was posted on this site, subscribers could send an image in and, once uploaded, the list could be amended. I am willing to bet that subscribers on here have every missing part in their collections. Bit more work for those who run this wonderful site but, if it means getting RPotD back, I am well up for it.

I love how this minifig doesn't feel all that 2002 because the head is so 90s. The torso is late 90s/early 2000s, and considering the only town sets that year were re-releases of the Town Jr police station it makes sense.

I salute you, last of your kind late surviving 90s fig!

As an aside, I noticed an e-mail this morning about a MINIONS jetboard polybag GWP with purchases of £35 or more on certain products. Now on the website. Posting this in case anyone who didn't get the e-mail is interested.

Same.

Also could a filter be put on whatever picks the parts so only parts with images can be chosen?
Although I'm not a tech guy, so that might be impossible/ very hard.

The "red stripe" police from 1993 will always be my favorite Lego police.

Funnily both this torso and it's precursor from 1979 were later released with the police badge removed, to make a generic motorcycle jacket. For this torso it was used for the character Biker Bob from the 1998 Lego Creator PC game.

The torso was first released in 1993.

Minifig images come from Bricklink. Set images are curated here. Part images are scraped from LEGO.com, so it’s not really as simple as submitting them.

Thanks for that. I just assumed since I have had this site ask for pictures of sets I own (as theirs were poor) that we could just submit pictures/images of whatever.

Seems it's not that simple. Damn shame.

@Belboz:
I only learned that when I reported an inventory error. The 2x4x6? rock shell (SLURP?) came in solid grey and marbled grey/trans-orange, and a set that came with one shows the other in inventory. Bricklink confirms this, but the set inventory gets scraped automatically from LEGO.com. Any changes would just get overwritten the next time the set inventory gets redownloaded.
