By in New Zealand,

This is easily one of the best UCS sets. It's so cool!

It's also the second UCS set within a week on RSotD.

By in United States,

I still can't believe they made a UCS set out of 7201

Yes. The build certainly looks bigger.

By in United States,

A new UCS Imperial Shuttle would go pretty hard tho

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

It's going to land on 10188, which was RSotD not too long ago!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Certainly one of the best UCS sets out there. It’s a white whale for me… if I can find one of the few remaining sunless spots in my room. The yellowing on this would be crazy.

By in United States,

Haha no way, I was just looking into 4494 today!

This is a really good-looking set! Definitely one of the more on-point UCS sets.

EDIT: How do you link the set numbers?

Agreed. Apart from the minifigs, this set still holds up quite well!

By in Australia,

My dream set. Waiting for a new one though.

Put a hashtag directly infront of the set number. This instruction is clearly shown right below "add a comment"

Ah, I see. That note is surprisingly easy to overlook. Here, let me try it: 4494

EDIT: Yaaaaay it worked!

By in United States,

Would definitely love a new updated UCS of this, with a full interior if they can fit that in alongside the wing function.

No, this set doesn't use a chrome lightsaber hilt. Chrome was discontinued in 2005.

The set inventory says it uses this piece: https://brickset.com/parts/4548731

The Brickset inventory comes from the LEGO servers, and the LEGO inventories get adjusted to eliminate discontinued elements in favor of current ones.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=64567&in=A&itemYear=2010&colorID=22&ov=Y

Bricklink shows the inventory as it existed during release. It’s chrome silver. Also, chrome gold is still around in at least one instance. The One Ring has never been produced in any other color. I thought maybe they’d started making it in a molded gold color, so I ordered one on PAB last year. It arrived in chrome gold. They classify it as a different color, but that’s a cheat to get around their self-imposed restriction on how many colors can be active at any given time. So it’s kinda like “metallic gold, with a wink and a knowing nod”:

I think the last set to feature one was 75017, although that was a specialist piece.

I just checked my copy of this set on display and I can confirm that they are indeed chrome.

Very interesting indeed.

By in United States,

I hemmed and hawed on this one for months but ultimately passed. It looked great but it was just too much for me and too out of scope with the rest of my collection. Ironically, since I don’t actually play with any of them. But if I had only one “go back”, I’d still probably use it on 10195 AT-OT or 75059 Sandcrawler instead.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I ended up selling this not too long ago along with most of my UCS sets. Beautiful, but takes up 3 times the space of a nice play-scale model. I also did not enjoy taking 5 minutes to wind the wings up and down.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

This is a fine rendition of the Imperial Shuttle. I got the first edition of it (7166), in 2001 just for the Emperor. I'm so glad I did because he's yellow and I love it.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

I thought it would have more interior than just a cockpit, but at least it does have a cockpit.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I remember seeing this one in Hamley's, in London. Big box for the time! I'd reckon it must have been huge when built, too! And yellow, if you haven't been careful in placing it out of the sun.

You are correct. The other last set it appeared in was 2000430 Serious Play, on a Duplo trophy part (although that was probably old stock).
Even in Star Wars it wasn't completely gone for years after they stopped using it on lightsabers. How else would you explain 5000063 TC-14?

Btw, if you look it up on Bricklink it might seem like the color is more widespread than it it. That's because straight up metal, like that used for springs or train axles, is counted as 'chrome silver' over there. Post 2013 there are no more actual chromed silver parts to be found.

By in United Kingdom,

I remember they had loads of these at Legoland in July 2012 in the shop connected to the Star Wars area, including a number in water damaged boxes.

I was still getting over how incredibly expensive Lego was having been in my dark ages since about 1990. In the end I shelled out about a tenner for 4191 and that was reluctantly.

Five years later I’m buying 75192.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

As cool as it is, I can't help but feel nervous thinking about the risk of yellowing (my main reason to avoid huge, mostly white or gray sets).

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

This a UCS set I would really like to own. It is such a cool ship and this version really seems to do it justice (I've never seen it in the flesh). I do own 75094 and that is one of my favourite sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've got this one - Its awesome - But it's yellowed really really badly. 100 shades of white.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A set number from 2010?
Well it’s an older code, but it checks out

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I saw a discounted copy at the Galeria shop in Aachen in 2014, but the box was particularly damaged, so I didn't buy it. (I wasn't there for buying Lego anyway, but now I realize I should have invested in it, although I don't know where it would fit in my already full Lego room — first world problem, I know…)

I am quite confident that there will be a remake at some point, though.

And metallic silver isn't much better because it can also chip a lot over time. LEGO should just make lightsaber hilts pearl silver and that'll solve everything.

That Imperial Officer is so happy to have a lightsaber, yet he's about to walk off the tiny platform :)

i bought it on clearance when it was retiring for like 160 but I still havent built it :'( it's my favorite ship. so beautiful

My favourite UCS set that I own.
It was GREAT to build, and it's fantastic on display

Lego hasn't chromed or otherwise plated a lightsaber hilt since 75017. They've molded them in Titanium Metallic (https://brickset.com/parts/colour-Titanium-Metallic) and Warm Gold (https://brickset.com/parts/colour-Warm-Gold), though.

I bought this for my wife many years ago - it is still built, and yes.......yellowed like mad.

I own this set and it definitely has chrome sabers

By in Canada,

This was pretty impressive for 2010. It still holds up today!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have a slightly unpopular opinion about this set. While truly exceptional for its day and still superb today, a new version could be far better. There is a lot of potential for improvements in accuracy, particularly around the cockpit, which should be more rounded.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ Agreed. Still a great set, especially for its time, but I'd very much like to see a fresh iteration. The cockpit and engine exhaust are in particular need of addressing. I have high hopes for a new one since it appeared in The Mandalorian and Andor.

...and Rogue One as well, right?

Even if its only appearance was in RotJ, it's still an iconic ship.

It shows up in TESB:SE, too. I can't remember if it makes an appearance in ANH:SE, though.
