By in New Zealand,

How coincidental! A new version of this just got reviewed, and is releasing in a couple days!

Guardians of the galaxy is one of only two film series in the Marvel universe that I have watched, and this is definitely my favourite. I also love how cool the Milano looks.

I forgot it's been a decade since the first GotG and thought this was a new set review/reveal for a moment

By in United States,

It's already been 10 years since the first Guardians of the Galaxy...

Well, it will be very soon, just need to make it to August.

I like how Ronin is just standing on the front of that fighter.

Why do I feel like the Milano is turning into LEGO Marvel's version of the Millennium Falcon?

By in United States,

Tell me how Huwbot isn’t sentient again?

I have this set! I think I’ll get the new one, too. It looks too good to pass up.

That because the various Ravager ships are actually visually interesting. Most Marvel related things are more focused on the characters, the sets can kind of be whatever, it's just stuff to make the LEGO set an actual set, but for the Guardians of the Galaxy, their ship also acts as their home, just like the Falcon, and it is in some part also a character within the movies because they're much more expressive the with engines and fins that can move around to visualize peril or reflect the pilot's personality when flying.

How convenient.

By in Australia,

Ain't no way this is random. The review for 76286 just dropped. if so than this is a massive coincidence! Also, "New ones sell for around $180 on bricklink or ebay," literally the exact price of the new one. How does this happen??

I had this set once and sold it. Regretted it ever since. So glad there’s a new version coming out.

What a coincidence. (Yeah, right.)

Yup, that's what I'm always thinking about as those spines are moving around. "Wow, look how pensively insecure he is, and the way those spines are reflecting it." Wait, no, that's not right. I'm thinking, "I have no idea what those spines actually do, and I wonder if the CGI team has any sort of guidelines telling them how to move them, so it's not all just random based on who built the scene."

Have this and getting the new one. Love me some GotG!

By in New Zealand,

Managed to pick this, 75904 and a couple of other sets up for $50 in an online auction about 4 years ago. The only pictures were of parts in some Knex containers, but I could see some key pieces. Luckily they were all complete (Maybe missing a small part or two.)

Still one of the best hidden gem deals I've ever had.

By in Germany,

I got this set on clearance at Toys-R-Us for 60€, must've been in 2016 or so. Very glad I did, it's fun!

I guess it's Guardians Week!

I know right. I swear the Huw is actually playing with us and choosing it. And this isn't an isolated incident. "Coincidences" happen all the time on RXotD

I regret not getting 76020 to go with this. At least I got 5002145, so I at least have Rocket and Sprout Groot. I also have 76080, so have the Baby Groot from that.

Huwbot's on a space theme today!

By in United States,

I can't believe this set came out 10 years ago! Seems so much more recent!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

For its size at the time this one did a lot. It's one of the few spaceships with a full continuous interior, which I was wowed by at the time. That said, it's also very nearly all wings, which means it has a lot of width that isn't being used.

By in Australia,

Wait, this movie came out ten years ago? I’m getting old.

‘Coincidental set of the day’.

Mathematical science claims that life would be weirder if it contained no coincidences.

I heard a story about how when Spotify (I think) originally set up their random playlists it was truly random...which meant you could sometimes just get long strings of the same artist's songs. Which made people think "yeah right, its clearly following patterns this isn't random at all" So Spotify had to change up the algorithm for playlists so it separated things out more, making it less random to seem more random

And now, we realize, that the first GotG came out 10 years ago...

By in United Kingdom,

This set was the one that brought me out of my dark age! I saw it in a shop window shortly after seeing the film and decided to get it. It's still assembled on one of my shelves, a decade later.

I'll be building the new one in August to celebrate my own ten year lego-versary!

By in Netherlands,

Funny that this set is the random set of today. As if the universe is telling me to buy that new Milano set that is coming.
Thanks Huwbot and Capnrex, now i will

By in United Kingdom,

I won this set in a competition @DrDaveWatford ran on his website! Fantastic set, was absolutely thrilled!

By in Netherlands,

While this set is nowhere near as accurate as the new one, as it was based on concept art (and thus the angle of the wings and the secondary yellow color are wrong) this is still quite an awesome set. It looks great, has fantastic interior and good figures. The side build is also accurate enough.

I’m pretty sure the X-Wing gets more sets than the landspeeder. Snowspeeder might, too. The landspeeder just feels like a set you don’t need to see revisited that often since nobody is going to armybuild them, so it really sticks out when you get another.
