By in New Zealand,

That minifigure included in this set appears in 21 sets!

He is certainly quite a hard worker!

He's clearly a clone. We don't see as much of those, post-2005.

"This is a bucket."

"Dear God!"

"There's more-"

"No!"

By in Germany,

Every city needs constructions. Lego cities are no exceptions. Except everybody is happy about it, unlike in real life.

So...this 'loads' the 'bucket'...gotcha:)

Also: There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza...(couldn't resist:))

These are so fun. You scoop up 1x1 bricks or round bricks, then move them and dump them out again.

We need something like that again, but the recent ones all have mechanisms that aren’t fun to use like this thing was.

Yes he was, and they were abandoned after the rise of the City empire, which wiped out all the smiling citizens.

Why of course, he's made out of plastic.

By in United Kingdom,

Looks like he might have broken down, and Plan A is trying to fix it with that wrench he’s got.

Plan B is smacking the thing with his shovel until it cooperates

By in Turkey,

Simple yet effective. When I look at it, I think I can modify it with new slopes and tiles to look modern.

By in Netherlands,

That bucket and accompanying boom were from before the minifig I believe off the top of my head. Interesting to see it here because my other closest association is with its use in the 90s

By in Poland,

I had a modern version of this set 7246 and despite it being seemingly unremarkable it was one of my favorite sets. Perhaps because it was the first City set I had and a gift from my dad so I had an emotional connection to it. For that reason these tiny loaders have a special place in my heart.

I've got nothing, this set is too pure and wholesome. Perhaps the next one will be more inspiring to make a joke.

My very first Lego set. So much nostalgia !

Classic town sets are always welcome. It seemed that almost each year there was at least one new construction set in the new release line up. A similar bucket loader exists inside set 6383, the Public Works Center. My favorite part of any classic town sets is the box it came in (still have mine - $3.49 at Kay-Bee toys) and the ideas on the back of the box for alternate builds.
