Wonderful, incredibly underrated theme - and this is a really poor set. I get the purpose of this - a $2 pocket-money set for kids, and that's cool. But set 6836, V Wing Fighter, was only $4 and is 10x better.

But if you only have $2, then this is infinitely better, because any LEGO is better than no LEGO.

Techdroid II in his Astric!

Quite large for an impulse set, also the one set to balance out 1997's assortment of UFO droids - in 1997 there were 4 blue ones and only 3 red ones (if you excluded the copy sets).

Since some catalogues included those tiny impulse sets, this set was new and UFo was either already discontinued in some places or the ones responsible didn't want to distract too much from the new themes, it was sometimes placed as an Insectoids set (erroneously obviously).

This went far enough for some Club Magazine (not sure which) calling Techdroid II suddenly 'Astric' (the set's UK name) and making him an eccentric elderly hermit (but still somehow part of the Insectoids crew).

Also one of the few UFO sets not released in 1997.

The name reminds me of an exchange from the Season 2 finale of DuckTales 2017.

“This is a ship, and I’m a sailor!”

“It’s a ROCKET ship, and I’m a pilot!”

“No you can’t buy that A-Wing, we have A-Wings at home.”

By in Turkey,

This set was good source for old grey wings. I think I turned the couple I had into classic style spaceships.

KFOL: can I have 6901?
AFOL parent: We have 6901-1 at home!

Back home:

I said it before and I'll say it again:

This set is great. It has thrusters, an antenna/laser, a chair, sloping, an interesting wing formation, fashinoable asymmetry, controls and a great minifigure. Not to mention a good alt build.

What more could you want from an impulse set?
