Random set of the day: Rascus
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 8772 Rascus, released during 2004. It's one of 24 Castle sets produced that year. It contains 46 pieces.
It's owned by 1,837 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $18.00, or eBay.

Rascus the Rascal.
Hmm...
Monke
One of the printed 4218697 piece is the wrong way around, if I ever got this set I would definitely turn it around
These sets are quite bad. The shields were made of cardboard, and they don't look very good. Minifigures are way better.
I still wanna get my hands on a Danju minifigure at some point
Because W O L F

Agreed, but I bought three of them (this one, plus the blue and purple knights), and used them as beautiful towering statues in my Lego city. They look really impressive at minifig scale.
I really wanted to like the one I bought, thinking I could use the parts for mechs or something.
But nope. I don’t even remember which one it was. Not this one, though.
You know, green is my favorite color, but I don't think I ever really gravitated towards Rascus here just because he had green armor; I've had a few characters where that was the case. I think I liked Danju better, possibly because he was supposed to be the wise mentor character, which is another thing I've long been a fan of.
One of the few castle sets that remained unpopular.
@Maxbricks14 i2nd and 3rd wave had decents shield and looked better

He’s just bouncing his pecs like Terry Crews.
I remember finding the last one sold over here in 2006. It felt great to be able to complete my set of the originals despite it being 2 whole years since it came out. Back then lego was changing quite quickly and it was already quite different since 2004. Knights Kingdom II alone wemt from its first to its last year in that timespan.
Of course, it probably was still there because it sold poorly.
Ah well... I like it well enough. Even upon re-acquisition it's one of those sets I'm at least happy to own again.
Between this guy and the original Lewa why was it decided that the green guy had to be sporting an enormous grin on his faceplate?
BIONICLE FANS HATE HIM! This VALLIANT knight has has retained a consistently low second hand value for 5+ years. Find out how using this one simple trick...
Have this guy, (and the rest of the first wave of them), looking for a new home.
Just need to work out what the best way to sell on LEGO is and how to do it. (Any advice in this regard?)
And build up the courage to actually let LEGO leave my collection....
Nice, my favourite of the knights. I don't like jokester characters or monkey, but I do love me some green+yellow. I got 8780 specifically for that reason. Simpler times.

As an adult, yeah they're definitely not the best, but I loved them as a kid. I wasn't massively into action figures but I liked being able to customise these with other LEGO elements, and enjoyed the story.

wonky pecs
'To me, my jellybean knights, to me!'
These guys were the skittles heroes seven years before Ninjago redid the concept. (and the ninja did far better at it I may add) I also wonder if, since real Knights typically rode horses, if anyone ever made a horse for these guys out of Technic, Duplo, or System.
'A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!'

Nope, he was just like that for some reason. All official pics depict him like that.
This series was my life but I'll admit the 2004 figures were clunky. The next 2 years were exceptional and I still break them out sometimes. Swishing around 8791 Sir Danju's sword remains one of the most satisfying play features in any set I've owned, and 8703 is just downright regal.
I think someone already said this, but one of his pecs is upside-down.
I feel I’m one of the few who love Knights Kingdom II. My favorite LEGO original theme!

Someone at Lego was huffing Joker Toxin.

It's nowhere near my favorite theme, or even anywhere near my favorite Castle subtheme (Forestmen forever!), but I did like it. I got all of the first-year figures except 8809 (I got the versions packaged in canisters; I didn't get any of the value packs). I also got a good number of the minifig sets, all of the second-year figures except 8795 (although 8873 was the only minifig set I got that year), but the only sets I got at all for the third year were 5994 (although I did get two of that) and 8704.

They were similar characters, too. Something about green said "nimble trickster" to Lego designers in the 2000's.

It was one of my very first Lego themes, along with City and Star Wars, and I got really into it as a kid. Aside from the sets, I had activity books and printouts from the website on my bedroom wall. I made "headcanons" for the story, too, I decided the action figures were the minifigure knights' grandparents, because I was young enough to think you just kept growing as long as you lived, and that Danju was a girl, because my grandmother wanted to know why there weren't any (plus the purple armour).

I've only ever known them as Jellybean Knights. The standard assortment does not include pastel blue Skittles. Or black ones, as far as Ninjago is concerned. But all four of the initial knights come in colors I'd associate with jellybeans. Same goes for the initial four boys from Ninjago, and even La-Loyd. Not sure about Nya. Would she be a mystery flavor that can be any color in the bag?
