By in New Zealand,

We are on a water theme today!

And look, this one has the better life jacket design.

By in United States,

Dinghy is such a fun word to say!

I have the boat hull piece from this set; it's currently being used as an adventure boat for my 71047-6.

Fun idea. Too bad we are still waiting for them to release here in NZ. Two weeks still!

By in United States,

Has a life jacket, baseball cap, and shades* just like today's RMotD. Wild!

*The exact same shades, I might add

Not just water, but water rescue polybag.

Yes, it's quite annoying they release here a month later than overseas.

By in Canada,

@GSR_MataNui: Yup, noted the very thing over there...even went to the point of noting both coming from nautical sets:)

@WolfpackBricksOfficial: Yes, it is a fun word to say...even more fun when you mispronounce it 'dingy':)

Still find that weird, but I'm not expecting it to change at this point.

I, on the other hand, got very lucky today. I found the remains of about four cases that had been stuffed into a set of undershelf baskets normally used for polybags at Walmart. I was able to find nine Mindflayers, increasing my total to 14. And more significantly, I got a dozen Dragonborn, which I had so far not been able to locate. One case was only short four minifigs. The bottom later looked like it may have been shorted one due to bad packing (I once found a case of S25 that had one _extra_ minifig in the bottom layer), and the top layer was missing a neat cluster of three, which is apparently where the Dragonborn were located.

Ooh nice finds.

We do seem to get other sets a month before you though. I guess it is just how Lego have decided to split their releases. Probably for logistics reasons.

We're so close to having a Random Minifig of the Day originate from the same day's Random Set of the Day.

Indeed. I figured I’d have a tough time getting Mindflayers (the only armybuilder foe in the set), but it seems all anyone cares about is scalping the Dragonborn. Well, I got enough now that I don’t care if I find more, and I could even trade some away if I need to.

Anyways, I mistyped. I have 14 Mindflayers, not 15. Forgot that I only found two at one store, but I picked up trios of Tam with both of my smaller purchases. Six trans-red skulls, 14 Mindflayers, 12 Dragonborn.

That’s mostly on us, I think. The big box retailers aren’t so hot to invest in new sets during the summer months, so some of our June/July releases get pushed back until August when kids are getting ready to head back to school.

I guess that makes some sort of sense.

I'm yet to decide which ones I will be going after multiple of. I'll get at least one full set though, probably two. And then I'll see which ones my wife likes.

By in Australia,

this guy has the same evil face expression, and his life jacket covers up his bodycam and namebadge. seems like corrupt police have arrived in lego city, ready to falsley arrest people.

Gravatar
By in Turkey,

I see nothing special about this set. Maybe if you need a grey boat?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Was this the same multi-piece (meaning 'pre-assembled at factory') 'full' rubber boat from 1997 Divers or the modern day hollow bottom single piece one?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

After a brief Medieval blip it looks like we're back to our "Noun Vehicle" trend!

Released in 2005 and not hollow bottomed.

Why are there so may City police sets? Surely crime rates can't be that bad...

Everyone is stealing Lego in the US. Most stores keep them behind locked cases.

Gravatar
By in United States,

We can call ths a 'dinghy,' yet so many people struggle with Durrr Burger?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I like it. The full boat hull certainly helps and feels generous for a polybag

Wow, someone reported my comment. Rude. I should have the police coming after whoever did that, and they could all go in their dinghies.

By in Netherlands,

We're really in small set territory right now....Last friday we had a 226 piece set, which isn't exactly much. But since we've got 4 sets which *combined* don't even come to half of that....

How low can we go?

I believe there is a 10 piece minimum for RSotD, so you could get a 40 piece total over four days.

Somehow both of you managed to shed som light on the matter in very different ways :-)

By in United States,

Really neat to see such a large part (the FLOATING dinghy hull) in a polybag.

How do you think us Yanks felt with the LEGO Jurassic World summer wave?

Quite a day for LEGO City water sets from the early 2010s.

Dinghy is a funny word.

But not a better boat compared to the new 4 wide buildable studs variant (which can still be inlaid with modern 1x2 curved top bricks to closely recreate the old one (without bar sized handles on the ouside)

The Lego Police don't make the situation better. In fact, it seems to me as if the more Lego Police sets they make, the more sets get stolen.

I wonder if things would be better if they brought back the Space Police. I sure wish they'd try that. Regular police are boring... and useless.

I suspect many LEGO police have, themselves, been stolen over the years.

There’s always 71002-15. “Stop, or I’ll say ‘Stop’ again!”

Oh... that's horrible! I didn't think lego would be such a big target for thieves."

I'm just glad that the people who got into my apartment, and later, the storage room my parents moved my stuff into after my stroke left my Lego alone.
