Random set of the day: Millennium Falcon
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 75030 Millennium Falcon, released during 2014. It's one of 45 Star Wars sets produced that year. It contains 94 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$9.99/£8.99.
It's owned by 18,439 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $24.50, or eBay.

What a piece of junk!
(JK this set is awesome)
It’s a shame this line seems to be dying off. Quite a few ships haven’t been done in the style yet.
Ah, the first set my wife gifted me once I started getting back into Lego. (I got her 21304. Not quite a fair trade.) I really enjoy the Microfighters, and have all of them so far. I'm currently in the process of reskinning each microfighter in a different theme. My favourite so far: The walker from 75195 in the Rock raiders theme.
This is nice, but the remake is better.
Aren't you a little too short for a Millennium Falcon?
Wouldn’t Han get sucked out of the Falcon and into the cold recesses of space if it was built like this?

I'd very much like to know why LEGO hasn't made a standard Imperial TIE Fighter in Microfighter form yet
Never got into the microfighters (unless they came with a cool minifigure), but my brother had this. It's now somewhere in my part bins.

Same for me. I got a couple as present over the years. Now they are in my parts bin. They have cool parts though.
The OG microfighter MF (yes, there were two more. One with Chewy and in sequels style, the other with an updated Han).
It's a shame this line is so few and far between now. They are such cute little sets!
Got this...always wanted to make a 'ride' out of the micro-fighters akin to one of those spinning-swing, or spinning-vehicle rides, sorta like:

May not look like much but it did the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs
Only in the last couple of years, have I started buying the SW microfighters, and it's a shame, because I really like them. I wish I'd been buying them all along.

I miss when they made multiple sets in one year to verse each other, which was the whole point of them.
I've got this one!
Unfortunately I lost the printed cockpit, which is kinda the only cool piece.
Went to bed early on another Star Wars day. Man, I always find a way to do that. I miss when Random Set of the Day was 9pm EST.
Of the three Mellennium Falcon Microfighters, this one has the best cockpit print on the cone because it's black. Although it's a bit large, I also like the use of the engine block for the seat for another bit of detail. I also like the greebling between the nacels with the jumper and grill tile in this configuration. The Sequel Trilogy version with Chewbacca rotates that configuration 90 degrees, it doesn't look as interesting to me, and the 2021 version just used a slope. Each Falcon Microfighter has their own set of pros and cons.

No, because plot armor in Lego is more powerful than space or, in fact, the galaxy itself.
My kids have this one.
I don’t care what people say. This is the UCS Millennium Falcon.
Pretty sure this is one of the escape pods mentioned at the start of Ep4.
I have the 2018 remake of this set.
Yep, that's all I've got to say.
I have the updated version from 2021 on my desk. I love it!
This is my Lego Set Zero, the one that brought me out of the Dark Ages. I was always a fan of the MF and was a huge Lego fan growing up but then grew away from it. The size and cost of this set meant it was an easy purchase 10 years ago. Little did I know though it was a gateway into reconnecting with Lego and becoming an AFOL. And from one Han Solo minifig, going on to collect that full first series of Microfighters to today where Brickset reports I have over 950 minifigs and 430 plus sets. They can all be traced back to this little Falcon...
Aaah the culprit! This was the first LEGO set I bought from a local convenience store, that took me out of my dark age. 10 years later and 494 sets later, here we are.
Wow, what a coincidinck! Been a lifetime SW fan, and played with Legos as a kid. We pretty much have the same story and passion there after, this little gem. I agree, I had to have that solo and my first falcon also. Then the passion got re-ignited. Hope TLG keeps making micro-fighters, but with figs that are more obscure.
Good luck partner!

Wow, what a small world, and I can see I am only 60 sets behind you after those 10 years. Good luck to you, and here's to the ongoing joy that wee colored (or grey!) bricks can bring...

Han only has plot armor when it's convenient. (See what happened when he had his reunion with Ben Solo on Starkiller Base.)
This was (sort of) the set that got me out of my dark ages.
Been jokingly pestering my wife to buy me the original UCS Lego MF. She got annoyed at me every time I brought it up so I made sure to bring it up at every opportunity. Eventually she presented me with this and said “Maybe this will shut you up!” 10 years later she is as much of a fan as me and we have lego on display in every room.
If only we had a bigger house…

some media portrays microfighters as being fancy looking speeder bikes, so that hopefully shouldnt be an issue.
