Well at least the pilot has some extra level of protection between their head and the propellers.
Or maybe that makes this one of the worst helicopter polybags because pilots with a death wish are an institution.

Nah. There's still no chance he's getting out of that thing in time if it crashes and catches on fire. Just cut the cockpit loose and use that as his coffin.

Less a 'Blue Thunder', more a 'True Blunder':) I kid, it is better than 60275: Police Helicopter...yet, oddly, part of me still smile when I think 'my first' 645: Police Helicopter...yes, a helicopter with DOORS, go figure.:)

Does anyone else notice that you can see through to the other side of the polybag?

By in Turkey,

It's a nice basic design. I'd do couple of things differently but I like it. Reminiscent of older helicopter sets from 90's.

Oof, budget cuts definitely hitting the police department with this one

Likely someone very carefully slit the bag open, removed all the contents, and then put the empty bag in a scanner to capture the image. Heat sealing the top, bottom, and back flap can result in rippling of the bag material such that it won't lie perfectly flat. You can see the way the light reflects off those ripples in the lower left corner especially.

I love it how, even after all these years, there's still the occasional polybag set that pops up, and I've never seen it before in all my life. This is adorable. Why don't I own this?

By in Netherlands,

I have no memory of this set.

I must have probably encountered it at the time... but it's not very distinctive. I guess it looks pretty decent for what it is (sirens on the rotors notwithstanding), but 'police helicopter' is such an overdone concept in City that I fear that I might forget about it again come tomorrow.

I have no idea how a helicopter of this size will be able to lower a stretcher and make a rescue ;)

By in United States,

The scale of the build and the number of parts makes this look really close to a classic 90s copter (as already noted), but something about being a 2010s polybag makes it look like a far more slender offering.

I can only offer the fact that this has a narrower cockpit windshield than the 90s copters would have: that would usually have been a 4-wide part and this is 2-wide. It's not much, but otherwise I'm just making assertions based on nostalgia.

Finally, after more than two weeks of no Internet due to Hurricane Helene, I can get back on Brickset and see the RSotD! And none of the sets that I was really hoping to see in this feature got picked while I was away, although I'm sad that I missed 8099 and 75030. Microfighters have been around long enough to show up here, wow...
Anyway, I almost thought that the rotors were 1x4 tiles, but the inventory says that they're 1x6 tiles. Which is still a little stubby.

It's a police helicopter, those don't carry stretchers.

@Binnekamp:
You mean the blue lights? Sirens are the noisemakers. I’m not sure how, or if, lights on the rotors would work, since control surfaces are only operated by mechanical means.

@b2_O:
Lowering the stretcher would be easy, since it hardly looks capable of carrying it to begin with.

@PurpleDave @TheOtherMike, I apologise for any confusion caused, as I was just paraphrasing the end of the LEGO City "River" commercial, which has the lines "PREPARE THE LIFELINE, LOWER THE STRETCHER, AND MAKE THE RESCUE." when describing what the helicopter does to save the man that had fallen into the river.

Incredibly similar to 30222 which I realized is right next to my desk as I type this and yet I had not logged as being in my collection.
